i don't understand nothing, and if you swap size to full screen the writings are half visible

Nice idea, but a bit hard to understand (mainly due to unintuitive controls).

cool concept of switching between layers, it was a bit tricky figuring out the controls it was fun once i figured it out though.  i got blown up on the way to HQ :(.

im sorry the gophers are very evil. thx for playing!! this one needed a bit more time in the cooker.

I think I get what you're going for, but I had a lot of trouble figuring out how to use the controls and what each sprite represented despite seeing the instructions right on the side.

Firstly, kudos to the team for attempting a turn-based isometric grid game. It must not have been easy to code the movement logic.

I liked the creative concept of switching between layers to navigate across obstacles. The idea has the bones for a turn-based bomberman-styled game.

I was slightly confused about how to progress the game, until i chanced upon the "Turn" button which passed the turn. Changing the visual indicator on that button would help make it clearer (e.g. changing the label to a verb "Pass Turn", making a hover and pressed effect to show that its a pressable button etc).

The other unintuitive areas are explained by your lack of time in finishing the game. I assume in the final product, the player would not have to pass on the enemy's turn, and the initiative will pass back to the player automatically after all enemies moved. It was not immediately clear to me what the Red X's were. Initially i tried bombing them, but that didnt work.

After figuring how to move, i had fun making my way all across the map to get to the HQ! I was gleefully about to press bomb, but for some unknown reason i died.  I even moved as much as i could to the north to avoid the gopher guards there. But alas.

Pity, i would have liked to blow up the dang gophers' HQ.

The game is very small and hard to play try enabling the fullscreen option in the itch settings. You can still do that after submission end. I couldn't manage to borrow or actually make a bomb explode though

Developer

We added the full-screen mode. Hope that helps with seeing the text better.

Like you said you ran out of time, but I think I get the concept and it could become interesting to play. The fact that you have to switch turns yourself is kind of weird though. Also I didn't fully understand what the top layer was for, I just played without it haha.

Also like that other guy said, the text is really hard to read, thanksfully you added the keybinds in the game description on itch.

For anyone else playing this, you have to click on the rabbit to move and use the buttons to switch turns and place bombs. Wasn't sure if I was supposed to move the enemies or not, didn't seem to be able to move them, but they also didn't move on their own...

Appreciate the comment and thanks for playing! I updated the description with some notes.  Yes sadly we ran out of time before implementing the enemy movement :,(.

I can’t figure out how to play, and the text is unreadable.

We added a full-screen mode and some more explanation on the game page. Hope that helps.
