Amazing game! I kinda wish there was more! The music was really good and the art fit well. The intro was great! I liked how you added more enemies and mines to increase difficulty.
Would've been cool to see what other ideas you had in mind!
Very coherent art style, good job on the entry!
Neat concept! I really like the art style! It's simplistic but really sets the tone. I do wish there were enemies or some threat actively firing back at you though. Great job!
Thank you! That would've been cool but we couldn't pull it off in our time availability :( Appreciate your feedback!
A great idea based on the theme. The visuals and audio fit perfectly together it's got this really gritty ambience that I really enjoyed. The music is great.
Thank you so much! Means a lot that the aesthetic and tone of this game landed with you, given how your game was :)
Nicely done - very clean, good use of the theme. Impressive for a week's worth of time.
Thanks so much! :D
Nice work! Really dig the vibe.
Thank you!
Really cool concept ! The sound was really impactful aswell, especially at game launch, which I enjoyed a lot. Great work !
Thank you so much! Glad all my hard work at audio paid off :)
I really loved the vibe! The one thing I found annoying are the controls, but I get that it's also part of the experience to have an annoying player controller. Solid game all around!
Thank you! Ya it's meant to feel a little slower (unlike your game :P)
That's funny because one of the top critiques I got was that it was hard to control because of the speed... There's a lesson in there somewhere
lol I think the lesson is "to each their own" (btw, that was not my critique of your game, I loved what it was doing)
no no I meant that a lot of people found that high speeds outside the race made it more difficult to move around
lol yeah I guess so, but it made sense within the game too.
Fantastic game!
I really like the sonar graphics and it was so fun trying to predict where each target would move towards!
Also the explosion and sounds had really good feel to them!
Maybe you could add a bigger visual representation when a target is destroyed (like a big text in the center of the screen). Sometimes the target was outside of view and I didn’t realise if I had destroyed it, and it took me a while to notice the number going down
Thank you, I'm glad you liked it!
Yah really good point, I agree! I'll try to patch that in after the jam. Thanks for the feedback!
Well done art reflecting the sonar look. It had the right feel for the game. I did run into an issue on level 4 with my first play seeming to have an enemy outside the play area. I looked for a while, and then looped around the edge several times and could not find them. Restarting the level I was able to quickly locate them all. It also seemed to me like the mines all spawned together, or I could at least just keep shooting the same mine until it showed none were left.
Yeaaahh thanks for bringing it up! Those were definitely bugs we found after submitting and/or didn't have time to fix, but will be trying to patch it up after this jam. Thanks for playing!
Excellent sub hunting game! I enjoyed playing this! Everything was presented nice and cleanly and I never felt lost in this game.
Here’s a link to my on stream play of the game.
Thanks so much for playing and streaming it! Felt very gratifying to watch you play through our game :D
Very criative! I loved how you guys fitted the theme.
Thank you so much!
The retro green and black look's cool. Played really well too.
Thanks so much for playing, appreciate it!
That is a cool game! The graphics and gameplay are phenomenal. The citique I have is that crtl is not a good button to use in webgames. As I used WASD for movement, pressing crtl+w closes the tab.
If you have time, feel free to check out the game I worked on.
Thanks so much! CTRL as a button was my bad, I thought it looked better on the HUD but discovered too late the web build you brought up. Z is still an alternative control option!
I definitely will check yours out sometime this week, just busy!
I like the challenge of having my mechanics on cooldown. A good way to implement Hidden without hiding the world from the player.
Thank you! Hiding the world was a consideration, probably would have been too hard.
Really good take on the theme with a neat gameplay to go. I think you could have also implemented the "Report card" wildcard by giving the player a grade depending on the time taken in each level.
Thank you so much! We were wanting to put in a report card system, just ran out of time. Would have also included accuracy, # of shots/pings, longest range hit... Lots of fun stuff to choose from.
