I think the aesthetic is really cool! The gameplay also has some potential! I think with some more time and polish you could really have something here!

If you're thinking about taking this game further I would recommend a couple things

I think that dash in it's current state could use some work. Maybe add some momentum to it so you could use it to go fast?

I also think the enemies are a bit too immediate in some ways? Like they instantly spot you and kill you. Maybe give them a bit of delay between when they can attack and when they actually do?

The ceilings of the houses also got pretty annoying occasionally, making them a one-way platform might be something to think about.

Anyways great job! It's really hard to make a game in 72 hours!

Thanks for the word. I do plan to work further into, but right now i can't, busy studing for a test.

Dash what you mean by that? i just have a dodge that's like substitution jutsu from naruto, Oh no did you find a bug?

And noted i will improve on that, right they behave like that because there is no AI or Behaviortree  done, is just get close to the player do something. But i'm looking on how to improve the feedback and how they react.

I wil see what i can do about the celling, right now they're painted and the collision is handled by the tile collider.

oh wait I guess it is called a dodge. My bad!

Yeah I'd recommend developing the enemies a bit further and maybe adding an incentive to fight them rather than avoid them?

Anyways good luck on your test and game!

Hi! Nicely done — it turned out pretty well.
It’s just a shame I’m not really a fan of black-and-white visuals.

Developer

Thanks man, i got with the "mono-chrome" because i suck with art,  so was to keep myself from trying to do to much with colors, so i could just focus with the shapes and shadows.

While unfinished, what you have here is really solid 2d combat with clear counters to specific enemies. It's very satisfying to move quickly and deal with threats. The dodge currently lets you teleport through walls, and with it, I discovered the secret twist... the princess wasn't real!

I tried to make something that i can expand afterwards, i'm planning to finish it after the jam ends, i tought i put a fix to that bug, seems like isn't working, wait she isn't real or she is real? Only in the next episode

Not too bad! Couldn't get past the camp area, lil too tough for me, but I had fun playing! ^^

Developer

My bad and noted to fix. Was tough for me as well. Bad time management and game controlls led to that. Got stuck trying to fix a code that was working and i broke trying to fix, lost some hours that i could use on something else.  Right now the main strategy is stun with the shuriken(i should've add a signal when they're stunned) and attack while slowly moving forwards on the camp.  Just asking did you use the dodge(f)? After the gamejam i'm planning to fix and finish it. but i guess if one person played is already a success, thanks for the words :D
