Nope - I've completed at least one game jam before.

How does your game fit the theme?
My game brings to light how difficult it is to "Just Get Started" on putting your laundry away (or any other menial task), even though it's not all that time consuming.
It highlights how difficult it is with phone addiction to just start anything!

The creator is an underrated genius :) I genuinely enjoyed the game, especially the fact that it’s based on real existing trends — it really shows and makes it more interesting. I’d give the game a solid 14 out of 15

Developer

Thank you:)

I really love the idea and gameplay for this, its so relatable. But unfortunately i couldnt finish the game. It was personally a bit too difficult for me cuz some of the hearts ive tapped didnt register, i couldnt raise my dopamine/motivation fast enough. Would love to have the tapping more responsive. Love the idea but the execution could be better! Will be coming back if you decide to have a post jam update!

Developer

I 100% will! The difficulty was tough to get right aha, I initially had it more difficult 😅. I figured some people would have a hard time, but Inbound finished Day 5 first try on stream lol

I might add a grace area around the buttons to make them easier to click, or I even thought about making the posts themselves clickable!

Thanks for the feedback:)

Oh man this was actually really hard! Super great execution of an interesting idea. I absolutely detest the modern scrollpocalypse so this felt particularly poignant for me haha. The only thing I felt was a little jank was actually getting the clothes in the drawer, I felt like sometimes I should have gotten them to go and they didn't, or I accidentally closed the drawer instead lol. Very nice job taking a simple concept and actually making it really fun and exciting!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! The part about finding putting clothes away difficult was sorta my intention (after initially putting clothes in you had to clic directly on the piles to put them away) to make the game more tough/ frantic, but I agree it may not have been executed perfectly

Thanks for the feedback:)

This game is fun, it's also a little too relatable haha. But wow, this person sure goes through a lot of laundry for someone whose only two activities in life are doomscrolling and putting away laundry!

I had a lot of fun with this actually, the frantic nature of scrolling to try and find which ones are good, it really surprised me with how good it ended up feeling. Awesome game, good job!

Developer

Thanks!! I'm glad to hear it (I was also surprised how much I got into the game once I started play testing)

I'm glad that the frantic side of the game worked well, it was definitely what I was going for:)

Really good job taking a lived experience and distilling it into a game. Vibes are immaculate.

Developer

Thank you:) Vibes are a must for sure

I'm sad that I related with this game, motivated me to do better. Very chaotic but fun game. Good job!

Developer

Glad that it's getting the message across!

Submitted(+1)

This is a really frantic game, I quite like it.

The controls during the laundry folding part feels a bit finicky though. I wonder if doing it dragging and dropping could be more natural?

Developer

That could work ! Would just have to figure out what would happen if the player dropped it at the wrong spot

Submitted(+1)

Saw shovel played it and decided to give it a try , its a nice game about self discipline , in some ways it also sends the message of the danger of scrolling addiction. The protrait of the time going so fast when scrolling is also scary accurate. Would love for you to try my game

Developer

Glad you liked it:)
Went and played yours as well, very good job!

Really good game, enjoyed it so much and the addiction was so accurate, can definitely relate!

Submitted(+1)

Funny and clever game! 😂
I love the writing and premise of the game, the depiction of phone addiction was so funny and quite accurate.
the gameplay loop is great, plus the alternative route was very smart! About the art, my only complaint will be the mixels issue, you can look it up, I remember Shovel making a youtube short about it LMAO, it does take away from the game's feel and aesthetic a bit, but Overall great game, would do my laundry daily! ✨

Developer(+1)

I have also seen that youtube short and know what you mean 😂 The art was initially supposed to be placeholder but didn't really have the time to put more thought into it so #no-regrets aha.

Thanks for the feedback!

Submitted(+1)

Wow that was a very fun game to play and really made me think about how much time I procrastinate by being on my phone haha! The art has a very nice style to it and I enjoyed the variety in messages. Overall, a great entry!

Developer

I'm glad the message is getting across to people:) It's something I'm always trying to improve on myself as well

This game is real asf and reminded me to get off my phone. Awesome concept and I like that the difficulty gets harder by changing up the colors and forcing you to speed read. Great game!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad that the colors decision payed off!

Submitted(+1)

Loved the concept! Made me happy I deleted of all the scrolling apps of my phone

Developer

I did the same, it helps so much!

The game is great, the art is unique and very cute, I liked the concept and the idea of the game, this is something way deeper than we think, procastination is something everyone faces and your games could display it in a really fun and immsersive way! Nice job on the idea and the game itself, really solid job and great development

Developer

Thank you:) I’m glad I was able to get the message across the way I intended!

Whew! Things amped up by Day 4. Took me 5 tries to beat Day 4, but somehow only 2 to finish Day 5 (  ≧ᗜ≦). That household has a lot of laundry lol. Relatable and challenging - great job! (ง'̀-'́)ง

Developer(+1)

you got that practice in for day 5 aha, thanks for playing!

I had to battle my antivirus to play this game haha, in the future a web browser version would e convenient. I'm amazed at how you managed to tuurn doomscrolling into a game haha, it's really creative, relatable and good tho. I actually saw this game on the stream. I like it man, welll done. 'm not sure hwo to improve the game, I think you went for a vision and you naileld it so I don't really know how to improve it.

Developer(+1)

Wow I'm glad you think so! I definitely have a few ideas like adding an endless mode for those who find the story too easy like Inbound who finished day 5 first try 😂 I think I'll make an update after the jam for sure.

I wanted to do browser but it didn't seem to run well. I came to find out that it was because I didn't have accelerated graphics on my browser (RIP)

Submitted(+1)

I like the concept and its interpretation of doomscrolling..seems relatable too

One and only suggestion would be to improve the cover image to get more views

I reached lvl 4 btw :D

Developer (1 edit)

Hadn't considered that being a problem! Thanks maybe I'll do some AB testing aha

Super relatable and surprisingly stressful in the best way 😅. The phone mechanic nails that doomscrolling trap perfectly. Loved the small touches in writing and pacing. Managed 3 endings so far, I'll be back for more!

Developer

Woah 3!! Insane aha

I really love your theme intrepetation, and yeah phone addiction is a real thing… I have managed to get a few different endings :) I like how each action is shown and how moods change from your actions, like if you keep clicking on motivational posts then it’s pretty normal, but when you go into Youtube’s rabbit holes it changes into a game of chasing dopamine xD… Overall really enjoyable game, with nice sound effects, but I really wish there was some calm background music though

Developer

Thanks for playing! I'm glad you appreciated the interpretation:)

For the music I honestly also wanted something calmer that fit, but the deadline was approaching and I wasn't able to create that "perfect" sound track that fit the laundry and one that fit scrolling, so I made one and stuck with it.

What endings did you get?

Submitted (1 edit) (+1)

I got the one you try and fail, the one you do the laundry, and the one where it’s just scrolling on the phone looking for dopamine :)

Developer

Nice!
