Good proof of concept. Was the inability to pick up creations by design? I could see it getting annoying later with more complicated levels, because you don't let the player experiment as much without restarting.
Also - got clipped into wall when dropping the lift.![]()
Thanks for the comment, not by design just ran out of time to implement it.
Ah yes, totally understandable. Good job either way
Nice concept and the art is great!
You got a cool little concept! I was a fan of the items, and the variation of the levels. Apart from making some adjustments to the items to feel a bit more natural (being able to use movement keys on the rope without immediately falling), the only other thing I would have liked is for the character to be a faster and less slippery. Currently, it feels a bit odd to only move 1 frame and have your character slide farther than that. I really think you could accomplish a lot more with what you have currently! Good job with your submission!
OMG. This looks soo nice! The art is amazing. The levels look really good. The music was perfect. Too bad it did not loop during the gameplay.
I also like the combination of a platformer with the collecting and crafting and the puzzling which item to use where etc.
I think you could easily make this into a full game with more crafting recipes and more levels. Great job!
one note: I was able to place the catapult inside the roof structure where I was not able to use it anymore. I think this is probably not intended.
Cool game! And congratulations on submitting your first jam game, that's an achievement on itself.
Really enjoyed the crafting mechanic it give more edge to what would have been just another platformer! Unfortunately I found a bug where you could get trapped under the pneumatic lift and found that the character movement was a bit slippery, non the less really enjoyed playing it!
Really cool game.
Unfortunately I uncovered a bug whereby if you stand under the pneumatic lift on it's way down, it will push the player into the floor and hardlock them from moving.
Other than that great effort for your first jam game.
We had rather similar ideas, I like your game, good luck
Very interesting and novel mechanic. Cannot have been easy to implement, so very impressive for a first jam entry. I wish the character moved a little faster and was less slippery, but otherwise I think it is a very nice entry!
The crafting was an interesting mechanic, the animations felt really smooth, and the paralax background effect was a really nice touch too, I feel like this could definitely be expanded upon outside of the gamejam, great job!
The music is gorgeous. Loved the art and the steampunk theme, especially loved the parallax background it added to the feel of moving through the rooftops. I'd love to see some expanded inventions to use during movement.
I did accidentally get soft-locked on the third room by falling off the front of the level and getting stuck below. But all-in-all a fun play
i love the theme and it was a great idea! i have never seen this sort of stuff, it is really cool what you did there
Cool submission! I love the steam punk theme. I think godot is with a problem on web exports that makes the music not looping (even though it loops on Windows/Mac/Linux versions), but, besides that cool game :)
Super nice steampunk-y art! Love it!
Also the mechanic of crafting things to get through the level is a very nice idea!
I'd recommend to set the music to loop. The music was great, so it was felt even more when it was suddenly gone.
Good job!
Very cool little game! This could easily be expanded with more levels and craftables. I wish the music looped, and moving while being launched didn't cancel the speed. Also being able to move things you've already crafted or even dismantling them would be a good convenience feature.
great game
Solid game! Good art, amazing sprite animations and a good concept! Though I do think that you would want to have the crafting menu a little more obvious by keeping it on screen always and ofc making it fit. But other than that I had a fun time playing!
Спасибо
Incredible sprites and sfx ! The music don't loop, and level are pretty quiet so. The parallax is a little buggy, but very good game overhaul, even more for a first jam ! Very fun, i imagine this with a lot more object, it could be a lot of creativity !
Thank you for the comment! Yeah the parallax gave me some trouble, not sure why.
Fun take on a platformer ! Love the background and the craft system (ok i did have to replay levels twice cause i was excited to craft whatever i could directly, meaning it wasnt placed where it should, but thats on me)
Good work :D
Thanks for the comment, I did want to add a dismantle system so that the player can different spots but just didn't get round to it.
