Really fun game! Scared the heck out of me after limiting my vision to just that tiny circle though!

Excellent first-time entry! Smart, satisfyingly challenging, funny. Thumbs up.

A really cute little game about being a snail. The graphics were really cute, the gameplay was varied and fun, and the writing was quite funny and cool

Always follow snail rules!

I actually loved this, its funny, looks good and has a smooth gameplay, could be a little faster paced (but its a snail so it might no make sense), the sanil rules are funny af.

oh the tileset should be slightly reworked so that we can tell which tiles are walls better instead of testing every tile, maybe a little outline or smth

Random in a good way. I lost my shit when big snail pulled out a chessboard. Always remember snail rules

Okay, why is a short, sweet and simple little game about being a happy snail giving better life advice than some people who are supposed to be giving it? XD I love myself these snail rules you know?
That aside, what a banging little game - such simple mechanics but they just work. Level design was honestly quite fun and never had me feeling all that lost.

Amazing submission!

Am I in some sort of snail cult now?haha. Loved this game. I don't know why but the sudden WRONG popup message when I got the cup game wrong made me laugh. Really well done, should be proud of your submission!

Well done on your first game jam game, the concept was very unique.  Played very nicely, I enjoyed it!

One of the best entries for this jam. This game feels like a finished GBA title. The art, music, and game design are all top notch. The creators here has a good title on there hands and a great career ahead of them!

Playing a retro style Gameboy game as a snail, sold. Solving puzzles using obscure snail lore, double sold. Random chess puzzle at the end just for the giggles? I'm floored. Fantastic job, you're a true snail of honor <3

Interesting game about not disrespecting snails lol. Good job

WTF?!

But really, that was awesome. I had minimal expectation going into this, and it just kept on gettin' better.

The ending was also rather neat. I was getting worried, I didn't remember the rules to chess, then I realized you could freely move the pieces, then I realized a true snail of honor wouldn't do such a thing.

This isn't just a good first game jam submission; this is a good game jam submission, period.

so finished it

i liked a lot that you mixed lots of different ideas. Learned a lot from the snail rules.

But seriously the art is really cute, the ñam sound is kind of funny, I enjoyed everything

I got the chess part wrong like 5 parts though lol

but didnt expect the chess part, or the cup game, or anything. great surprise

congratulations!

This is really well done and polished! Crazy to see its your first game. The story is so fun and I had a blast discovering the rules. The scary games part caught me so off guard and I was fully expecting it to turn into a horror game lol

The game was very fun. I had an urge to become the most powerful snail ever.

Very cool retro art concept! Pretty nice gameplay too!

Solid work for a first game! Handful of simple ideas that meshed together well, enjoyed the twists as it went on! Fantastic work!

(PS. Thanks for the "no scares" option. No idea if that actually would have changed anything but it made me feel a lot better :D )

The game made me laugh a good number of times and I was really shocked when it said it was your first ever game. Seriously well done!

Very entertaining. I'm glad I knew my snail trivia for the last level!
