  • Fantastic game, really amazing work. I hope to see a full release on Steam with a bunch of awesome worlds, haha!

Yes - I'm new to game jams!

How does your game fit the theme?
Since the theme was to just get started, I figured, "Why not get the ball rolling in a literal sense?" Then Feather Weather came to be!

I really enjoyed watching Shovel play this on stream! Being able to "barely" hop back on to the platform and closely save your mistep is such a great moment in this game! Great job Honey!!!

Thank you very much ゚+.ヽ(≧▽≦)ノ.+゚ I'm beyond thrilled that y'all enjoy it!

Thank you so much to everyone that played and rated Feather Weather. I thought a few people might give my game the time of day, and I was okay with that. Y'all completely exceeded my expectations. I'm so grateful to all of you. This community is awesome 🦀

Sincerely, thank you (*T^T)

I love the art style! It's very cute, and I loved the soundtrack (if only the music looped work :sob:), and the game itself was very fun to play! The physics seemed very punished for wanting to go fast, I wouldn't mind it being a little more reactive/not as floaty but that might be from inexperience of marble-like games. In addition, making the camera to be turned with mouse or arrow keys would be a nice addition, especially for levels where it isn't as straight forward as going in one direction. Granted, the level design was simple where it wasn't a big issue, but it would still be nice to be able to see the section up ahead. Overall, really fun game! :D

Thanks for playing o(^o^)o

This game was very adorable and I found the VFX & sound FX very charming, especially the heart effects and "goal!" sound when winning! The game was very challenging and the physics was sometimes frustrating, but I really enjoyed the game direction. great job, especially on your first jam!

I saw your game in shovel's stream!! It's waaay harder that it seemed, and it seemed hard XD

but, I find it interesting like you were able to make every lvl feel so different only through the physique: we think we mastered the movement but each time the next lvl make us learn again? Also, I was SUR that it was an hamster, not a bird, in the ball, I was so surprised to figure it out XD

Developer

Lmao, little sparrow says thank you (ノ^∇^)ノ

Congratulations on finishing you first game jam ! You did great!

I saw InboundShovels playthrough on stream - so I took the freedom skipping the collect all the flower seeds but definitly like the touch of added danger.

I like the session time for a playthrough for a game jam version, especially if you consider collecting all the collectables. For a post-jam full release version definitily add more levels !

Good luck of the ratings!

Really loved the 3d models for the game also the main menu music was such a vibe loved it idk you included a volume slider in the main menu for that also the physics on the ball was really nice and responsive although my only suggestion is to probably have some like background to the scene probably a sky with a bunch of moving clouds would be nice but other than that really well done, if you dont mind you can also give my game a shot.

Developer

Thanks for playing (*^▽^)/★*☆♪

Great job for your first game. It is an really pretty game with soft colors and the model of the bird is really cute. The fact that it is 3D and in browser is a nice thing. Only thing I would recomend is that a time limit or certain levels with it would have been nice to spice things up, it is really common for sphere physics games like Super Monkey Ball and play around more with level design, you can go beyond when it comes to physics, just go wild with it!

Developer

Thank you for the advice \(^-^)/

That was a nice and fun game! It's a little bit difficult but that's not a bad thing, I like it when games are a bit challenging. Also found it kind of funny how you're playing as a bird but instead of flying you're just rolling around. Great job on your first game jam!

Developer

The irony did dawn on me while making the game lol. Thanks for playing (ノ^∇^)ノ

This is a cute little game, for me it was a little frustrating though haha. I've not played any ball rolling platformers before, so it's hard to say - but yes, it's very difficult to stop rolling. Also, in the levels where depth matters (i.e., the circle pits in the last 2 levels) it is very hard to see where the actual incline begins, I think maybe it's because the ground is dark colors in those stages (black and dark green).

Also, I did not realize it wasn't necessary to get all the seeds until I beat the game and saw a seed counter for each level, whoops

Anyway yeah, this is a really cool submission and something to be proud of as your first ever game jam game. Awesome job!

Thank you very much (*^▽^*)

Cute and fun game! I especially love seeing the bird roll around in the ball, it's funny how it subverts expectations 😆

I got stuck on the moving green platforms level for the longest time, even got to the ending platform and rolled past the cherry twice 😭. Luckily for me the next level was a lot easier 😅. I was also able to cheat past the last level by just rolling off the starting point to where the cherry was, not sure if that's an intentional choice or not. I think the only things I would suggest are to make the cherry bigger and to shorten the time it takes to reset the level after a fail, because it gets kind of annoying when the player keeps failing at the green platform level 🙃 (haha you can tell where these suggestions came from, you don't have to take them too seriously 😆).

Anyways, great job with your game!

Developer

Lol thanks for playing ( ≧∀≦)ノ

I had fun. Didn't beat it though cause my browser was way too laggy to play it, so unlucky. But really good work!

I think you should make stopping a little bit easier, I kept falling off in the second level since I built up too much speed on the ramp and couldn't get it to stop before I fell to the void-

Cute game though, I like it :>

Developer

For level 2, you're expected to jump and/or go against the downward velocity to stop. Thank you for giving my game a go (◕‿◕✿)

Fun and hard, maybe the controls need a little polishing but i like that it is challenging, i had a lot of fun, thank you :)

If you jave the time go and play my game as well, i would love the feedback

Developer

Thanks for playing! I played yours the other day (◕‿◕✿)

Pretty solid game for a newbie to game jams. To preface my feedback, I'm unfamiliar with these kinds of games so I don't exactly know how they usually control, so if my feedback goes against the main goal of your game/those styles of games controls, take it with a grain of salt. That said, I did find that the breaking/stopping took more effort than expected as you'd either continue rolling for an extra second before stopping or you'd have to jump in the other direction to redirect yourself. In particular the moving, rotating platforms this became an issue with and partly for the second level as well where the room to stop/turn yourself around was very very small. Additionally with the green rotating platforms I noticed that they only influence your rolling and not your position. Like if you take your hands off the controls while on them, instead of them moving you, you'd just fall/roll off them which feels awkward since you're fighting to stay on those platforms as they move but with how the rolling works, there'll be times where you'll accidentally roll yourself right off as you try to balance yourself on those platforms. I think it'd work better if the platforms did end up moving you with them or maybe are a bit larger to allow you to adjust yourself on them while keeping up with where they're moving.

Beyond that, solid first game into the fray, good combination of sound effects, music and visuals that fit the theme of the game and craft together something pretty solid. I hope you continue the good work on game dev going forward

Thank you for the vote of confidence (ง'̀-'́)ง I'll do my best!

This game is challenging (or maybe I just have skill issue) but fun!

Developer

Thank you for playing (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧

I found the controls weren't reactive enough, which especially shows in levels two and three, when you still haven't gotten the controls down yet. I couldn't get past the stars, and I just cheesed level two.

Developer

I'm sorry. Thank you for playing (^-^)

This game is really cool, I loved it!

The movement is very fun and the art and music are engaging

Developer

Thank you for the kind words ゚+.ヽ(≧▽≦)ノ.+゚

Cozy game, but I found it a little too hard lol.

I couldn't even get past the second level XD. The ball was moving too fast and I wasn't able to figure out how to slow it down enough or control it to be able to even get to the second ramp.

I also would like to see the camera zoomed out a bit more so that I can see the whole map/level better so I can plan it out more.

Developer

Jumping is key. Thank you for giving it a try (◕‿◕✿)

I was expecting flying , not rolling around , i burst out laughing when seeing this , the physics with the limited movement space are frustrating which is why it makes the game  good , like the rolling ball in Mario. Some additional mechanics can be add to enhance the experience , that's all the complaint i have. Mind trying my game too ?

Developer

Of course. I have a list to get through, but I'll get to it. Thanks for playing (ノ◕ヮ◕)ノ*:・゚✧
