Congratulations! Well deserved.
How do you like to run cursed magic items like the dagger?
Do you telegraph the curse?
Do you not?
I tend to say that it's cursed when I identify the item, but they don't find out the exact nature of the curse until they use it.
Thanks so much! For cursed items I like to have the environment telegraph the curse. If the party pays attention at all and talks to Bones and/or Fang they should have a good idea that the dagger is cursed. Also as soon as they interact with this particular dagger, Lorelei is gonna start speaking to them. 🧜♀️
Clean layout with a really nice subtle background, this adventure has some awesome art and I really appreciate its got such a good overview on the first page on whats happening. Really cool idea for the setup of an adventure to, awesome work!
That cover is, of course, immaculate.
A great cursed weapon as well, good enough that even rational players will be tempted to keep it around if they're "sure" they can handle it.
Gotta love a talking partial skeleton.
Fantastic magic items.
My only critique is that I'd like the map to be less of a tunnel and offer players more than one choice how how to move through the caves.
Otherwise, this is a great adventure. I could definitely see using this with Pirate Borg, where it'd fit in great.
Hey thanks! Glad you like it!
Interesting thought about the map. Not a lot of room for interconnectivity in a small space, but there’s a couple decision points that proved interesting when playing through. Going up through the hole in the ceiling and taking advantage of the loop in the map let my players plan an ambush which is what I was hoping the map would facilitate! There’s also a decision point in the watery cavern which allows you to go directly to Fang’s workshop.
You have absolutely nailed the Appendix N theme. The supporting artwork matches the title and theme perfectly, the writing is clear and precise, and the layout is easy to parse. The adventure feels both incredibly playable and evocative, with the 'Weird Tales' influence shining through. Bravo!
Wow! Thank you so very much
Wow, you could squint your eyes and be fooled by the on-the-nose format of the cover. Really smart text that has a pulp Weird Tales panache. The map's a looker too.
Masterful visuals; one of the best covers in the whole jam, and an absolutely gorgeous map as well!
I loved the mutations of the dagger, and the general vibe of the whole Curs crew. It really sells doomed, selfish, salty. Great job!
Excellent. Definitely a shining example of "Understood the assignment".
The layout here is so good! The npc's and the encounters make this seem like it is going to be a lot of fun to play!!
Very cool! The faction playing is awesome! These module gave me some John Carpenter’s “The Fog” vibes. I loved it!
Thanks so much! If I had more space I'd love to flesh out the different players a bit more.
Everything about this rules!
Really great! Love the vibe and your artwork is fantastic! The dagger is really clever, and I love Bones! We ended up with a similar tone for our adventures I think. I focused more on the town since it was something newer to me, so I actually think our two adventures could compliment each other quite well!
I was so happy to see you join this jam. This doesn't disappoint ! Everything you make is magic, my dude!
That cover is one of my favorites in this jam so far! Fantastic work on all of it - font, colors, composition! The map is really nice too. Compact and functional. Well done!
I love the work you did on the cover, you've given it that pulp-look without using the same textures as the rest of us. Also, as a Mainer, I'm bound by law to callout and celebrate Captain Claw—the best NPC.
Great map!
OOOOOOHHH YEAAAAAAAAHHH!
