Amazing visuals and sounds!
While it's obvious that you guys have put a lot of effort into the gameplay mechanics, there's still some big gripes I have with it.
- The choice of WASD instead of arrow keys. A lot of platformers game that binds jumping and other buttons like dashing to Shift for example, also has their general movement with WASD, which means my hands needs to be in a very awkward positions to play if I want to use both my hands (I don't know if people do it with one hand but I certainly can't do it).
- On the wall jumping controls, most platformers featuring this mechanics mostly just feel super awkward. It's really hard to jump off one wall and immediately have to do another maneuver like dashing in the other direction for example. I don't remember how Celeste did it but you guys definitely should study it.
- The camera. Except for the fixed angles in some areas, it just snaps too fast and sometimes unnecessary. It makes my eyes strain a lot.
- The hazards have too low a contrast to the overall environment. All the art assets I can see have all white outline, yet the spikes is all white. It just makes it too hard to discern danger from normal environment,
I apologize if I come off as too harsh for a jam game. You guys seem to be more experienced developers so I gave my honest feedback of some of the usual pitfalls that I see the game is suffering from. The art is amazing but the movement doesn't feel great and that's an essential pillar for a platformer game.
