How does your game fit the theme?
Using the power of teleportation and time travel, repeatedly loop through the interior of an intergalactic cargo ship to uncover its many secrets and upgrades. Repeated loops may uncover previously unreachable locations, but be careful, because looping too many times may lead to catastrophe.

I like how, as you unlock more abilities, the map gets recontextualized and you can move around the same areas in different ways, just like a metroidvania as intended! Really impressive for a jam project.

Developer

I’ve always enjoyed Metroidvanias and have wanted to make one for a while. It gives me an appreciation for the amount of work that has to go in to making a cohesive world like the ones in Super Metroid or Hollow Knight. Thanks for playing, I’m glad you enjoyed it!

How are people able to make such polished games in a game jam? Really cool! I suck at platformers, but this one had me playing for a while. I really liked the visuals, the CRT like effect and chromatic aberration is really well used (used in the right quantity). Honestly, I'd love to make a game as clean as this one for my next jam. Really cool!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! I’m glad you noticed the post-processing, because it was a very last-minute addition. I put a lot of effort into making sure the game was polished, so I’m thankful you enjoyed it!

Super polished gameplay, the game looks and feels very nice!

Developer

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it!

i love the music, remember me of starbound

Developer

Thanks! I think it turned out really well.

Noir aesthetic. Gripping narrative. Butt clenching gameplay. Bennett Foddy's "Getting Over It" of GMTK 2025. Was a bit difficult to see as I am light gray/dark gray colorblind, but I realize that is a personal fault of mine.

Developer

Interesting comparison, but I’ll take it! Thanks for playing.

yay metroidvanias! I thought this was well done and it's the first of the genre I've played this jam. Thanks for the fun!

Developer

And thank you for playing! Metroidvanias are one of my favorite genres, and I’ve always wanted to make one, so I’m glad a fellow enthusiast got to enjoy what I made.

god, this is awesome. i love retrekking with a new tool set, the ability to blaze through areas that once left me jaded.

a personal preference of mine is that i'm usually pro-silent-protag so, sadly, the dialogue didn't do much for me. i think, with it or without it, would be super sick to add some NPCs around the ship as well as maybe a voice for the ship via intercom ala MOTHER from alien.

there's a LOT of potential here and i would love to see this game evolve, i hope you continue to fine tune it! regardless, amazing job! i'm very envious of what you were able to accomplish in such a short timespan.

Developer(+1)

I appreciate all the feedback! I was trying to recreate the feeling of power you get at the end of Metroid games, so I’m glad to see you enjoyed that aspect.

I’m also a fan of silent protagonists, but I felt that, for the sake of my own sanity, having just one character with dialog was all I had time for. I thought it was best to include dialog, though, because of the new “narrative” rating category. I also couldn’t get this idea of a goofy little robot talking everyone’s ears off out of my head, so there’s that, too.

Again, thanks for the detailed comment, and I’m just glad I got to deliver an enjoyable experience!

(I’ll be checking out your game as soon as I get the chance, too…)

Really good, great atmosphere, visually and auditory, it's clear you put a lot of effort in it! (I am not the biggest fan of parkour games though)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I'm glad you enjoyed it even though it's not exactly your type of game.

I liked this game so far. I'm downloading it for a second run-through.

Pretty neat and atmospheric so far!

Developer(+1)

Thanks for taking the time to download it! There’s a bug with the web version that doesn’t allow full screen, so I’m sure you’ll have a better experience this way.

Ok, I've beaten the game. A little challenging at times, yet pretty enjoyable. I loved the quiet spaceship vibe. The character's monologue was a nice touch.

Does the destabilizing core do much? I got some red-shift and a few screen shakes, but was that it?

Developer(+1)

Thanks for sticking with it the whole way! My initial plan was to have the environment change based on how unstable the core is, but I had already overscoped and was unable to add that. It now just serves as added atmosphere and provides another ending if you loop five times and cause the ship to explode.

Submitted(+1)

That sounds fun :D
Metroidvania tends to push you to overscope... (speaking of which, I did too, a little! :D)

Developer

Definitely… I’ll make sure to check out your game as soon as I get the chance! It looks really cool.

Submitted(+1)

Neat, and reminds me of a game I did for a jam years ago called ZIP. Check it out <3

Developer (1 edit)

Oh really? That’s cool! Thanks for letting me know, I’ll check it out soon.

I've played a ton of game jam games, but this one rises above most. Everything - from the way the robot controls, to the breadth of gameplay, the soundtrack, the little sounds, the creativity of the environment and levels - all of it is memorable. you can see the dedication and talent put into this. I really like the clear objectives. It's just difficult enough to get a sense of accomplishment from progressing. And wow the ending was satisfying. I'm playing it again. Good job all around! I want to know this robot's name - did he have one?

Developer

Wow, thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it. He doesn't have a name, it's up to you! I'm open to ideas, though...
