I felt bad that there is no average score, because some teams aimed for all categories, not just one. So I just scrapped the results page and made a table. I agree with "Mark" that "Overall" is questionable, but I still think "Average" is a valuable score, so I decided to share it.
A bit confusing at first, but once I got the hang of what the icons meant (and they are actually quite well designed and self expalatory) then I found it very fun actually! The art is really nice too, must've taken a lot of time to do all the animations of all the different characters. The difficulty could've been a tad easier but I managed to beat it after 15 minutes. Well done!
Super impressed with this one, I loved the room/character switching mechanic, things got really frantic trying to keep everyone alive, but it becomes really satisfying really quickly once you start realizing where you have to go and what you have to do. Also the overall polish and presntation was fantastic, awesome work!
Wow, what a great game! I love how it takes the player on a journey from “oh my god what is happening okay I’m dead” to knowing exactly what to do in what order and how to respond to every hazard that arises. It really captures the essence of a good time loop game. I honestly don’t have any notes here, besides wishing there was more to it. Maybe a bit more feedback for activating the terminals, like an audio cue, since sometimes I hit space a smidge early and then immediately switch over to another character and didn’t realize I hadn’t latched onto the terminal.
Overall fantastic jam entry!
Thank you so much for playing. That is exactly the kind of loop we wanted to capture, and I’m glad you were able to experience that. We had audio cues for completion in the works, but unfortunately ran out of time on implementing it.
I love both the concept and execution of this game. My only wish was that it was longer! Switching between the different crew members feels satisfying and snappy, the puzzley gameplay is engaging, the art looks fantastic, the soundtrack builds to a cool ending, the list goes on. Also, I love that you managed to work in the classic sci-fi trope of redirecting power to different places. I would absolutely play this as a fully game, though I'm not quite sure what that game would be.
Other than wanting more of the game, my only suggestion is that the speaker event feels out of place compared to the others. Cracking windows, failing supports, and fires feel much more "grounded" for lack of a better term compared to something with the sound system.
Thanks for making a cool game!
Thank you so much for playing and for all these praises. Your criticism of the audio cue is insightful and with its current implementation I would have to agree. On the drawing board, there were definitely plans of something more substantial that we unfortunately didn’t have the time to get to. I’m surprised to hear you would want it to be longer! Much of our worries throughout development were whether we were respecting the players’ time by having you repeat an intensive loop so much, so to hear you would have wanted more is reassuring and great to see. Thank you!
Good idea! It takes some time for me to know what to do.
Sometimes I don't even realize it and I've already lost a team member, that feeling is not good.
I loved that there was voice acting in Loop Protocol, and the loop was well implemented. It took several tries for me to beat each level and everything was easy enough to figure out after multiple tries and beating the game was extremity satisfying. I didn't encounter any bugs or issues while playing either.
Glad to hear it was satisfying after several tries - that was exactly the intended experience! Thanks for playing!
Music helped add to the stress level! Really fun concept and design! Good job completing this in such a short amount of time. :)
Thank you so much for playing! I'm glad that the music added to the atmosphere!
Hey, that was great, I've managed to beat the game in three tries. I would definitely play more of this! Great job, if I were to give some feedback I would add more SFX - for console interaction, fixing issue etc.
Thank you so much for playing! There were definitely more SFX that were planned and had been recorded but we didn't have the time to implement them.
The game is overall VERY well-polished, but for some reason it was really laggy for me when playing on Firefox. I quickly understood what I'm supposed to be doing, but I would have a delay between pressing a button and my input actually registering (the input duration would also be extended, so I would often overshoot the console panels when walking). This caused some frustration and after something like 7 attempts I switched browsers. After switching to Chrome, I got it on my first attempt :D
But yeah, the idea is super cool, the art and game feel are excellent and I really enjoyed the game once I managed to get rid of the lag :)
Aw man, sorry about the Firefox performance issues; thanks for flagging those for us. So glad you switched to Chrome and got to experience everything as it should be!
This is so good. It was fun and just challenging enough that it took me a few loops to finally win, but it never felt frustrating. Everything felt polished, the art is beautiful. 10/10!
Thanks so much!! Not feeling frustrating is a huge win — we really wanted to capture the freneticism and confusion of an emergency without it being too offputting. So glad you enjoyed!
Awesome game. Gameplay is so elaborate. I love the fact that it reminds me outer wilds, one of my favourite games.
Wow, thank you for the kind words! Outer Wilds is one of our favorite games as well and definitely a source of inspiration for this—an honor to even be mentioned in the same sentence. Thanks for playing!
I can see, why this has so many ratings, brilliant game and concept. Although no matter how much tried, I was always short of time xD. I loved that it has voice overs, and this can definitely be full featured indie release :)
wow thank you so much for the high praise!! and sorry to hear about the timing QwQ maybe we can do some more work in balancing the difficulty for a future iteration haha thank you so much for playing <3!!
Wow, pretty complex for a 4 day jam. Really well executed but pretty damn difficult, at least for me.
haha thank you so much!! we definitely made it a bit difficult, especially on the first loop, but would love to hear any thoughts on how we can improve the difficulty balancing :D thanks for playing!!
Very cool!
thank you so much!!
Perfect mix of stressful and fun - saving the crew required a lot of quick thinking and was really satisfying to finally achieve. The visuals and audio are also great, and overall this gets all 5s from me. Excellent submission!
aaa thank you so so much for all the love <3!! we're really happy to hear that you enjoyed our mixture of chaos and gameplay haha thank you so much for playing!!
That was great!
Simply great!
:)
I like how it seems so impossible at first; but it's actually very easy once you figure out a good task order.
woohoo!! thank you so much :D
You made a banger game 🤝I like the process of trying to explore the locks on each of the rooms that affect the other rooms. It was the perfect amount of difficulty, limiting the movement to left and right, and allowed the art to shine! I got out of the loop on my 6th try.
aaa thank you so much <333 i'm glad to hear that you enjoyed the art and cause and effects aspects of it (and got it on your 6th loop :D) thank you so much for taking the time to play our game <3!!
I absolutely love the concept of an intentional time loop designed to protect a group of people. I'd gladly play a full game with this plotline. I actually preferred not having a super in-depth tutorial on how exactly everything works, as the game was short enough that I could learn everything through experimentation (which I liked). Also, the art is gorgeous!
Thank you so much - we’re definitely thinking about how this could be made into a full-fledged title! Glad the lack of tutorial worked for you - we’d hoped that there’d be enough information to figure it out with experimentation, but we’re also worried about keeping players motivated to keep going. Thanks for playing!
Once I figured out how to cancel the disaster or however you called, I was able to beat it in 4-5 loops. Very well made game with good gameplay, graphics, music and sound effects :).
ayy glad to hear you were able to beat it!! thank you so much for playing :D!!
