WOW this was so much fun!

I really enjoyed each aspect of this game!

Really reminded me of Hollowknight both gameplay wise, character wise  and story wise .

I really enjoyed how you ended the game! Such a creative take on the theme.

The world is so cool and I like the poetic narrative .

Well done, I'm very impressed! :D

Where is the "LOOP" theme interpretation in the game... Did I miss it...?

The game is enjoyable, mostly, it's a bit frustrating when a flying enemy puts itself in a spot that's hard to reach and just does not move anymore...

Did not like the pseudo-deep meaningless narrative, bad luck, I am one of those people that gets sick of it really fast :,(.

The art is good however, I just wish the platforms aesthetic and physical existence had more emphasis, so you could distinguish them, (like with a different colour opacity or value).

The platforming is quite on point, navigating the levels feels decent.

The music and SFX are really cool, giving props to that.

Overall, missed the theme in my opinion, maybe it's making use of it but too weakly or too late.

Good game and good luck.

Thank you!

Yeah ngl I was a little bit worried about the theme. In the idea phase, we leaned very hard into narrative with the idea of infinity and infinity loops holding power and (basically) granting eternal life, but I'm starting to think it did not translate well into the final product. This was the intended storyline we tried to tell in the dialogue; the snake in the background embodied the concept of infinity and was what was preventing the universe from finally ending despite the fact that it was dying. I believe if we had more time to make the game longer, we would have more room to communicate this better, but we unfortunately had to cut it real close to the deadline.

Really dig the art, intro narrative and music were nice and melancholic. The combat felt good with targets on the ground, where I appreciate the movement forward with each hit as I push them back, but the knots floated just above the ground and became infuriating to attack. Using the down-strikes felt slow against them but jumping and slashing only once so I don't fall off a ledge felt more punishing than rewarding.

Art is rlly good. I feel like your attacks should have a bigger hitbox, but other than that its really enjoyable!

Nice art and style! Also nice narrative!

For the battle system - I think it would both make more sense and be less annoying if the knots were not get knocked back, though :)

Would pay for a full fledge game with this artstyle, so unique, one complain i may have is how precise your attack must be to cut the strings, maybe enlarge the hitboxes a little bit,

just some stuttering with the movements but still a really good game, really interesting mechanics put into a well executed enviroment, really appreciated the style and the gameplay, well done

Game feels really polished! Like the story and attacks, great work! :D

I really enjoyed this one, I thought the mechanic of string cutting were really cool, and the attacks felt pretty nice too! good job

Cool character and animation! The controls feels nice

The artstyle, music, and concept are all great! I will say I think I ran into a couple bugs where the double jumping didn't work, and sometimes the midpoints of the loops went into a structure and couldn't be hit, but otherwise I had a great time playing this!

Developer

Thank you!

I actually suggested the idea of intentionally putting loops in inaccessible places, sort of like "you have to push enemies around or open doors in order to get to their midpoints," but our team ended up not going with it pretty early into the jam. If we ever expand this game post-jam, I'm still a bit interested in playing around with that idea, but for now, all instances of midpoints being inside platforms and such are not intentional.

I thought the loops weren't registering my hits, but it turns out they had 2 hp haha, regardless, really polished game with incredible visuals, you guys have a really high chance to win in my opinion, congratulations

Developer

Thank you!

If we had more time, I'd go back and add a more obvious indicator of when you hit loops. But alas, time never stops moving forward for anyone

Silky smooth animations! Character movement felt nice (a bit floaty but it fits the context)  and I enjoyed dying just to hear that respawn sound. Lining up multiple loops and severing them in one attack felt satisfying. Nice work.

Thank you!

Personally I'm super proud of the respawn sound. It was supposed to go along with a cutscene, but sadly we ran out of time before we could implement it :(

Those animations are SMOOTH!  I like how you faded in drums for combat music.  The checkpoint system is working well.  Great job!

The audio had a few hiccups (music didn't loop perfectly and the fight music was stopped abruptly), but other than that I think it was good! The attack allowing you to fall off a platform was really annoying, but I think this could be expanded with a more robust combat system. Great work!

I really liked the connected enemies, it made the fights feel really dynamic. Art style was really nice too.  It took me way to long to realize that the loops have two hitpoints; I thought it wasn't registering my hits.  Also the missing jump sound effect makes me a little sad.

Very creative gaem!

gorgeous art and animation and I really liked a lot of the sound design too, very well made and concise game with fun combat

Love the vibe. The message, music and art style really mix well. The gameplay is fun and unique as well
