Really cool idea! Makes for an interesting puzzle game; I could definitely see this idea being fleshed out further with more mechanics (maybe multiple enemies at once, stance switching, or moving around the battlefield, to give some ideas). One thing that would have been nice as well was the actual numerical HP values of the characters, so that I could try to calculate the outcome based on the current actions loops. But other than that this is really good stuff!

It embodies the theme really well, and it's overall quite fun, even though the game design might need some tweaking to make the game really shine. But it's very polished, the art is great, and it's a solid game jam entry overall. Well done!
The music, although professionally produced, clashes a bit with the cartoonish style, and it's overall quite tiring for the ears after a while. Probably a tailored sound design is what the game would need to make the gameplay even more satisfying (I don't even think a continuous music loop is what the game needs to be honest).
Oh, and maybe some narrative between one match and the other would have been amazing!
Probably my most favourite game so far, I had so much fun playing it! I actually got soft locked in a fight though (I'll share the screenshot. My armour was growing too fast and I couldn't out hit his heal lol) so maybe a way to forfeit the fight would be handy, as I had to restart. Thankfully you were smart and allowed for the speed to be adjusted lol (as i was happy to play again tbh and try a different build).
The art is amazing also, honestly all 5s for this game :D

Thanks for the nice comment!
The stalemates that can occur with defensive/healing builds are indeed frustrating, sorry that you had to abandon your run. A way to forfeit would be good, although then the player still gets punished in a way. I think the match resulting in a draw after 10 loops could work well perhaps?
slay the sandals? swords and spires? either way it’s great! i could see burning through a few rounds of this pretty easily.
Loved it! Very well done. Loved the art and felt polished.
Really great execution. It's fun to play and I think the player feedback elements are well done. I wasn't confused about what was happening at any point.
I love war games. This game is really great. It deserves 5 stars from all of them.
Ah I really enjoyed this! The chunky character illustrations are really appealing and their animations makes it really easy to follow what's going on. Super easy to pickup but a lot of depth once you get into it! Our games look nothing alike but I think they're actually pretty similar under the hood lol. Great entry, thank you for making it!
I love the gameplay loop of this game! I really would like to see a longer version of it.
wow im getting like sword and sandals flashbacks. how old am I?
