This game was so satisfying to play! I used the mouse settings ( thank you so much for including that!). It has a nice level of difficultly that kept me wanting to play quite a few times. Great intepretation of the theme! I would look forward to some powerups and the enemies that chase you a bit more!
That's great to hear! I was the one who worked on that, so it's great to hear that you had fun with it! :D
Very cool! I like the whip mechanic. I think I might play longer if there was an upgrade system, but this definitely scratched that retro itch (no pun intended). I liked the flight controls, but man did I die a LOT! Very nice work. I can't believe this was done in a week.
Not a bad attempt! It was a bit hard to get close enough to enemies to loop them. The keyboard controls felt nice, but tracking my position once off-screen was tricky...
Cool concept! I feel like enemies should chase you a bit more, since they tend to stay near the screen borders and it makes it difficult to circle them.
Thanks for the feedback! The original plan was to have the enemies follow you, but we ran into a problem where if over 3 enemies grouped up next to each other, it became impossible to loop them. There's probably a way to alter their movement to fix that though. I'll look into it in the future.
Cool idea for a game and great execution!
I would only reduce the number of bullets to make it a little easier, but maybe that's just me being a noob haha! Anyway, good job!
It's not just you lol, the game is very difficult. If we had more time we would have balanced it better. Thanks for playing! I'm glad you enjoyed it :)
Great spin on a classic, and fits the theme nicely! I might reduce the fire rate of the enemy ships as you have to get fairly close to kill them, or maybe a slightly longer tail, not sure. Everything else was really well made, great job!
Thanks for playing! Yeah I agree, it's not well balanced right now. In the future I might come back to it and make improvements.
Cool concept, but the game got realy hard really fast. I couldn’t even proceed to wave 2. Maybe having some easy enemies at the start would help. But ballancing your own game is always hard, so I understand it.
Thanks for playing! Yeah, the original goal was to have different enemies, but it just came down to time. In the future I want to balance it better and add different enemies.
I like the mechanic that you have to loop around your enemies to kill them, but I think the execution could have been handled better. The game is very polished and movement is tight, but the enemies come at you too fast, and there's no variation/no scaling. I would've liked to see more enemies, maybe some that don't shoot at you but instead dash towards you? I think it would also be a nice addition if the lasso you had would also delete enemy projectiles, that's what I initially thought it would do, but I understand that with such a short amount of time all these features would've probably been way too hard to implement
Thanks for the feedback! A lot of this did come down to time. In the future I will probably implement some of this. (Also the cable destroying the bullets is a great idea, I never thought about that)
This was a fuuuun game. As someone who plays a good amount of bullet hells the combination of the bullet hell type of game with the string physics was a pleasure to see. Movement is very tight and well tuned. The game was very tricky until it clicked. My one main criticism is I don't think the player should be able to fly off screen, as it's very easy to lose track of the player especially when you're flying around the edges.
Art direction was very good and I loved the vibrant colors. All in all fun game! Congrats on finishing the jam :)
Thanks for playing, I'm glad you enjoyed it! I did intend to restrict player movement, but time stopped me lol. In the future I plan on adding that in :)
The idea was good, i liked the game ! However you should lower the difficulty at the first wave, make it maybe just one ennemy and so on, also it was annoying that we could get out of the screen, but overall it's a great game :)
Thanks for the feedback and I'm glad you enjoyed the game! We didn't have enough time to play test and balance everything, but in the future I want to make those improvements.
I like the overall idea, it was enjoyable to me.
I'd suggest to put some actual border though, so you can't leave the screen. It completely disorients and usually results in a death when trying to come back.
I also noticed that the music stops looping at some point (not quite "loop"-y, is it? (I'll see myself out...)).
But yeah, overall decent entry, I enjoyed it and had fun playing it : )
Thanks for playing! In the future I will definitely add a border. Unfortunately we just ran out of time for the jam.
Fun idea and a great delivery. The controls feel very responsive, and I could play with that rope all day.
The only tiny suggestion I would make is to lower the difficulty at start to give the user some time to enjoy the movement and rope mechanic even more.
Congratz on a great submission. Well done!
Thanks for playing. Super glad you like the rope physics, I spent a lot of time trying to make it feel good. We didn't have enough time to properly play test and balance stuff, but in the future I definitely want to improve that.
Very interesting game and take on the loop theme. Loved the BGM and the rope physics! I saw your comment in the discord server and I hope you check out my game too!
Glad you liked it! I'll check yours out now :)
nice concept and execution! In the beginning I thought I really sucked but then i realised you don't have to loop around all the spaceships at one, you can destroy each one individually.
Lol, Glad you enjoyed it :)
I like this concept, and you got your cable physics working pretty good!
Thanks! It was definitely a tough programming challenge, but we are proud of the result.
Love the Pixel art and Rope Mechanic. It was really creative. The game gets hard though. Maybe decreasing the Rate of Fire help. Overall Solid.
Thanks for the Feedback! Glad you liked the game :)
love the gameplay feel of this!
Thanks!
I like the encircling enemies mechanic, it's definitely challenging combined with the bullet hell-ish action here!
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed!
Fun! Despite being so simple it's really a great feel to it when moving around and dodging shots.
We payed a lot of attention to the movement and feel. Glad you liked it :)
