Pretty nice, I'd like to see if you can expand this out into a full release some day!
A fun, clever interpretation of the theme! I did encounter a couple bugs, but I'm nonetheless blown away by how well the chain physics work considering the time limit. Great job! -GH
Great idea and execution but what the hell are you meant to do on level 3? I can't get out of the first room as the chain too short for both pickups.
This was really well done, nice job! The way some boundaries were breakable led to some quality puzzles. My favorite level of the 3 was probably the second one--that felt like a strong balance between puzzles and exploration.
Very legible artwork and cute story. Really nicely done!
I think this game is really cool and such a good entry for a jam. I love that I can play through it in a few minutes but really enjoy myself during that time. It’s very clear what I have to do and doing so feels polished and thought out. Others have talked enough about falling into the holes, so I’ll just add a +1 to them being too punishing.
Everything from the gameplay to the art is extremely polished, and the idea is very creative. There’s a small bug where the chain sometimes gets stuck when touching blocks, but it usually comes off after a few tries. Adding sound would definitely make this even better. Still, what you have right now is already pretty amazing. Great job!
I was having fun playing when I got stuck on the third level due to a bug. I'm so sorry, the levels are so well designed!
Despite that, the game is great and the mechanics are so clever, good job!
The foundational idea of optimizing your path based on your current goal is genuinely solid and engaging.
If the main purpose of dropping the chain is to allow exploration, it might not be the best approach—since exploring through path optimization already aligns well with your core concept. But if this feature stays, give it a clear purpose! For example, the player could access areas the chain can’t reach and control the chain from there. A fun idea: a magnet chained into a wall that lets the player manipulate the chain remotely.
Falling through the holes felt unnecessarily punishing—especially given the fast-paced movement. Simply blocking the player’s path would likely be sufficient to create challenge without frustration. These obstacles are effective at halting progression and could still serve a strategic role in path optimization without hindering the chain’s movement.
Bushes are a delightful addition—really loved them!
Visually, the game's clean simplicity is a strength. However, the lack of sound effects takes away some of the immersion. A few well-placed audio cues could elevate the experience dramatically.
Overall, this is a very solid concept with thoughtful level design. I genuinely enjoyed the process of finding the optimal path.
Thank you for the feedback. Indeed the holes are a bit too annoying!
I was planning to add mechanics and puzzles where you had to drop the chain, including NPCs. I even made the art for those. But implementing the chain mechanic took more time than I expected and I had to cut it out (same for audio 😢). I agree with you it woul be way cooler to have more things to do without the chain.
The magnet chain is a great idea! I'll consider it if I decide to expand the game.
One of my favorites in the jam!
Though the total silence feels oddly jarring next to how polished the rest of the game is
So cute, really enjoyed it. Was glad I managed to work it out :) Well done!!
Now that was fun! The main mechanic is so creative, and the level design is solid. I would’ve definitely played some more levels. My only complaint is the falling into holes – I’m not sure that adds anything to the gameplay aside from a sudden breaking of immersion (at least for me). But amazing work overall!
this was really fun but i got totally stuck on the last one i didn't know what to do i visited every room i looked everywhere for a chain link but found none i could reach... i really like the concept!!
Probably the best feeling rope/chain physics of any game I've played in the Jam so far, got stuck on level 3 cause my chain couldn't reach the first extender thing but looks like other people had that issue as well, besides that very cool!
Great game! Very snappy and the chain physics are very well made and satisfying, can imagine that took some time! great use of the theme too
Looks fun and cute, I like the artstyle and color scheme and the idea of wrapping a chain around a planet to pull it is really funny, but like others said the chain isn't long enough to get the first link on level 3 (maybe checking if current length > max length doesn't happen at a fixed rate?)
