Extremely fun endless game! I like how every time you clear the level, a new element is added to it whether the element is a platform or obstacle. Speaking of obstacles, it's very fun to destroy them using the ninja's move set as it makes you feel very powerful while also requiring caution from the player to avoid accidently getting hurt. The visuals are striking as they make use of silhouettes with colour saved for important elements such as obstacles and the player. The music fits the ninja gameplay quite well. The sound effects adds flair to the action and makes the game more responsive. Finally, Sensei is pretty cool.
Overall, especially since this was seemingly made in TurboWarp, very well done! 👍
I am so impressed that you made this game in Scratch. I had a lot of fun playing this. I kept on wanting to try again and get further, which is definitely the sign of a good game. It honestly had Newgrounds vibes, and brought be back to the days of online Flash games.
The random levels could be a little bit frustrating, since sometimes it felt like it was literally impossible, but maybe I just need to get good xD
One small suggestion: It would be cool if it preserved your height between loops (although maybe that wouldn’t be in the spirit of the level repeating). There was a time where I jumped on a platform on the left in order to reach a high-up sawblade on the right side but it reset me back to the ground, which was slightly disappointing.
Overall awesome job though!
Yo, thanks for the feedback a ton man!
This is insane for a Scratch project! Well done! Gives me Fancypants vibes!
I hope you'll try and rate my entry too!
Thanks! the game wont run for me tho
My one won't run for you? It's made for Windows, are you maybe on Mac or Linux?
yup, i think I'm on windows, i might figure it out later
It's a GameMaker game, I know in the past some systems have treated GameMaker projects as viruses. I don't know yet what the official workaround is.
Fun and funny, love it!
thanks!
This might actually be the funnest game in the jam. Not even kidding, genuinely hope this game wins or at least is mentioned in the GMTK video. Genuinely man 9/10 game. Also what was this made in??? If this was made in scratch because I saw the green flag then mad props to you bro. Thanks for checking out Last Hope(s) earlier too.
Thanks man! It was made in a scratch mod called turbowarp that has extra blocks, and np!
This is cool, the game has an almost cinematic quality to it. The concept of sort of training in the "Hyperbolic Time Chamber" was a really fun narrative wrapper for this. Also the effect when you hit the wheel was really satisfying. I also just seemed to be able to run through the levels like some of the other players, but hey, for a game jam this is great work.
Thanks man!
Great audio design and I love the concept of the preview of what's coming. Unfortunately there's quite a few game breaking bugs that need ironing out, otherwise this is a really cool game!
Gotcha, thanks for the review!
This was a fun game! However, when I first tried to play none of the obstacles appeared and I was just running through the levels. I also got stuck in a loop with the sensei a few times. Overall, fun once it worked!
Thanks! will keep in mind
THIS IS MADE IN SCRATCH ??? That guy has to be lying
Bro the sounds you chose and the music have me dead theyre actually so funny
the "Yooooooooooooooo" whenever you die ahahhaha
Thanks! its a scratch mod with more blocks to use
Best game of the game jam for me so far, this is so fun its so adictive and the core game loop is so good and the fact that this is scratch is just nuts
Yo thank you! That just made me super happy right now
