It's a bit confusing at first, but the narrative and artstyle completely make up for it. Amazing job.

That was really nice.
Atmosphere, Art design.. narrative….
I am in love.
Got the "good" ending!
This reminded me of those scenes in Madoka Magica where they go fight in the witch's domain, very creepy!
It's such a unique setup it's hard to think of a recommendation, maybe work with a pool of characters that changes year-to-year based on how the previous year's sacrafice went?
Great entry, nice work!
thanks a whole lot for playing and for the really awesome feedback! 💚
I was toying with the idea of more villagers, but I LOVE the idea of having the roster change / react to previous sacrifices. That's a really cool way to further the story, instead of just repeating it with one or two different characters.
Extra special thanks for that tasty nugget, we'll def see what could be done for a full release :))
What in the fever dream world did my sleep deprived brain just play - well done though. Excellent game - art style is fantastic!
The style is simply perfect, the vibe of the whole thing is amazing
It took me a couple of tries but i thing i understand the mechanics now (even though i couldn't win a round yet)
the mechanics are very interesting and refreshing, very good!!
Damn this is the most conceptually exciting entry I've seen so far. Using the golden idol style matching mechanics as a vehicle for the player to engage with the poetry, the characters, and the world is so so so cool. The presentation is one-of-a-kind too. The "cutscenes" are so unsettling with some amazing sound design, and they set an impeccable tone for the game to live in. The collage style character art does that same - at once charming and uncanny it gives a life to each character that illustration wouldn't have.
Just absolutely blown away, incredible entry.
Super cool aesthetic, but I have no idea what anyone is talking about! And that's okay! Great job!
I really love the artstyle, i will love to do something like that one day : P
Best entry I played in this Jam thus far. Everything about it is polished, intriguing and complete. It also really reminded me of the type of games I d used to play over at Newgrounds! Brought back some great memories. 10/10 well done!
Love the atmosphere in this! The intro is just soo gooood!
Had a bit of a hard time understanding and matching the poems and dialogues, and everytime I picked someone the game got stuck on an image of the sun so I'm just assuming I lost all my attempts lmao.
this game really hits different
love the arthouse vibes the visuals are amazing!!!
what an incredible atmosphere you guys crafted, right from the intro sequence - and im just sO obsessed with the artwork, havent seen this kind of mixed media-surrealist work done so well before in games! it took me a sec to figure out that i could use the tracker, somehow didnt see that xdd soooo soo cool!!
I absolutely love this concept and the collage style aesthetic fits the narrative well.
This is quite the feat in such a short time! I had a hard time figuring out the poems, but I really enjoyed the ambiance and the creepy sound design really sells it
As other have said, wow, what an intro. I feel like I could spend a lot of time getting into this game, it feels like it's really got a lot of (lamb) meat to it. Super polished and really unique and memorable art and audio. Oh man the audio, I had to lower the volume I was getting shivers.
You guys really nailed it with this one!
(It would be really nice if you can drop by and checkout my team's entry for the jam here)
