Lots of cool VFX how you had time for all this I'll never know. You must have not gotten much sleep. Worth it though cause this is really good! Nice work!

This game had neat visuals/effects, and the puzzle mechanics of getting the two robots to work together were pretty neat. I ended up playing until the lava level. My main suggestion would be to try to streamline the mechanics to make the puzzles faster to execute once the player comes up with a solution. For instance, I believe I would prefer if switching players were instant (or had a 1-second animation), and I do wonder if there's a way to make deaths caused by platforming mistakes to be less punishing, as the lava level caused me some frustration.
Ya I believe the pc I'm compiling all my games on is the cause for some people having compatibility issues with the game (my guess it's a gpu issue, as the gpu I'm using is a little bit old). I don't think its the games code as there are also people who are able to play without any crashes. I will keep looking into this though. Thanks for taking the time to check it out!
Really wish I had a computer with windows for all these great games that need it. Still ranked it all 5 stars based on the comments.
The game concept is so cool! I liked the distinct roles of the two characters, such a good touch of diversity in gameplay.
And the visuals were fantastic! Great job!
The game looked fun and well made, but It kept shutting down after 30 seconds or so...still looks nice
Yep several people are getting crashes shortly after starting up the game. I actually tried to download and play one of my games on a different pc and had it randomly close one me shortly after launching as well. I'm pretty sure the compatibility issues are caused by the pc that I'm building all my games on (I'm thinking its an issue related to my gpu). Thanks for trying it out though!
I've seen other games that explored this concept, but yours have cooler visual effects. Congrats on finishing this game in such short time 👍
Very beautiful visuals, and great music, but there were a couple of things that bothered me right away. The first was that the cool music in the intro immediately goes away when you enter the first level, and with it, so did my energy. It was like being hyped up, then told to calm down. The second, much bigger issue I had was all the in-game tutorial text. Actual walls of text explaining the game, but the game didn't even seem that complex yet. Just movement, E to interact, R to warp, and collecting crystals and getting to the end point. I really wanted to get straight into playing the game, but I actually felt like the tutorial text was barring me from that rather than enabling me. A big golden rule of games is to keep to only a couple of sentences or keep them brief in some other way.
Honestly, most of my bellyaching is because I was really interested in playing the game, but the tutorial felt like a slog to get through and I wasn't able to infer what I was supposed to do other than collect crystals and go through portals.
Still, a very interesting entry and I think it would thrive more with less training wheels attached! Great job! (I tried to not let my sort of lazy reading tendencies hurt your score. When I notice I'm being fairly biased I try to bump up the stars a bit to compensate for my personal preferences.) ^ ^;
Thanks so much! I feel you on the tutorial text for sure, I actually had it shortened several times but its still giving me trouble lol. I think the biggest culprit for that is my need to have the "white projection" character in the game. Since its presence is so necessary to the core mechanic of pattern copying, and also since its so closely tied to other game mechanics as well, I have to introduce it much earlier than the game actually requires. Though I think I came up with a way to have all my ideas for the game intact where I only just have the player character and the repeat character, so I will be able to make the tutorial text more palpable for the player. And ya I agree that there is definitely a tonal mismatch between the level hub music and the level music, still figuring that out too. Thanks so much for the lengthy feedback!
Really great work on the presentation even if they were a little overly long, there were some cool and interesting ideas and mechanics here which made the standard unreal engine movement feel more interesting and engaging. I did unfortunately get quite a few crashes while playing, but for an unreal jam game I don't mind a lack of optimization in that sense. Good work here!
It's insane how good this game is visually. I loved it! Also very fun to play. Great job
For all the impressive visual polish, I wish some of the mechanics had been better explained through the visual representation. The transitions also took forever which really dampened the pace of the game, not enabling me to put my puzzle solving into action as fast as I can think about it. The pattern copying also broke on me a few times, forcing another restart. Some good concepts that needed more playability in mind.
The length of the transitions was definitely brought up before, I guess I just liked the effect too much. Will be shortening those for sure. The way the pattern copying worked is, the repeat character would copy the movement of the white projection of the player character, not the movement of the player character itself (I wasn't sure how to explain that as palpably as possible, I'm now thinking there is a simpler way to do that mechanic while keeping all my ideas for it intact). Really appreciate all the feedback!
Awesome job on the game!! Super creative idea/level designs. Really hope you continue working on the game, would love to see how this game grows!! :D
Hey, thanks for checking out our game! I really liked your wormhole transitions and thought they looked amazing! I also liked the music, especially the level music. I thought the game was well paced and thought it was a cool idea to use what we learned to get to the next levels.
