Wow, surprisingly fun mechanic, I also love how adorable the main character is :3. Great job :D
This flight mechanic is a lot of fun!
Aw so happy to help Birdlynn with her job! it was fun 💛
This is super creative!!! I love Birdlynn so so much, the mechanic here is really unique and ingratiated in a really fun way. Small details like being able to adjust the music volume or the nice rainbow of the wind lines also add a lot. I found the lines to occasionally be a little bit finicky, and specifically in level 3 the block for some reason didn't break for me regardless of speed gained and I had to glitch through (I was playing through the Firefox browser, which seems to struggle with certain Itch games, so I assume this was just Firefox being strange), but really really fun neat little game. I could easily play more levels (:
tricky
Wow, very unique mechanic! And fun to play– made it to the end of the bonus level, that was some speed :D
Birdlynn is such a doll, anybody would be lucky to make her acquaintance. I only wish there were more time and space to watch her fly along, and maybe more wind-y effects around your line to really seal the concept in.
Short but sweet! I like the idea of drawing paths to lead the bird girl. I think it’s a clever use of the loop theme to have the player draw loops to build up speed. Greatly enjoyed that!
the loop mechanic is a really clever twist on the line drawing controls, and feels pretty satisfying when i was able to pull it off.
unfortunately this felt really inconsistent since the game seemed to keep treating my strokes as multiple lines and cutting off my loops in the middle? im not sure what the issue is exactly that's leading to that but it made the game fairly frustrating.i just went back in and that's just not happening anymore? i don't know what was up with it the first time i played but its working fine now. it might've just been an issue with my mouse since i don't see anyone else complaining about anything like this.aside from that, since lines never disappear on their own and stick around through resets, it's possible to end up with an entire gauge's worth of lines sitting offscreen on respawning and be completely unable to move. really feels like r should be a complete reset and also reset the currently drawn lines so you can't get stuck like this. theres also a lot of jank with the collision - i ended up getting pushed inside of things fairly often, though i assume you're probably already aware of that since the reset button does feel like a bandaid fix for that (and works well enough to fix it)
was very cool to see another game using the whole line carry mechanic though (and reassuring to see that i wasn't the only one who struggled to iron out all the jank that comes with it :p) im curious if you guys were inspired by canvas curse as well? you definitely put a very creative twist on it if so
Sorry to hear about you running into the jank, we spent a lot of time trying to fix most of it, but yeah some of the collisions into walls just was too much for the timeframe
As for getting stuck without gauge, we kind of try to show it in level 2, but if you run out of "energy" you can still keep drawing, it will simply get rid of parts of your oldest lines. So you should never get stuck because of that at least
Thanks for playing!
great game! love the art
Really cute game and felt super satisfying to get the hang of getting lil birdlynn flying about! I really feel like i can see this being expanded with more levels and interactible elements!
Hell yeah, very fun. It's a great idea for a movement system, and the bonus level made a great use of it
Wonderful little game! launching Birdlynn with a big loop and then catching her felt really satisfying, it’s an awesome gameplay loop! I especially liked the last level, you have to think pretty hard about how much speed you want to get going into each section. Felt like playing Line Rider again!
Really cool mechanics and great atmosphere. I appreciated how the difficulty in the levels increases gradually and naturally, it's easy to keep up.
Technically the main issue I found was that the trail follow is a bit glitchy, sometimes I got stuck in the floor. Also, I think some sound effects would help a lot, for example giving some feedback when the character speeds up on the loop.
Overall I had so much fun with this entry, 5 star on enjoyment! \^-^/
One of the most creative mechanics I have seen for the theme! The art really pulls it together. Great submission!
Fantastic game I really loved the creative gameplay!
I love the idea of this lovely game!
This is probably the most creative entry I've seen so far! I have never seen a movement mechanic like that before and it is soooo satisfying when you get the perfect loops. I love how it forces you to be quite slow and steady and rewards you with a big burst of speed, it gives a lovely ebb and flow to the game. The art was stunning too, I love the protagonist.
Great entry! Thank you for making it :)
