Really clean puzzle game.
With some work this can probably be turned into a perfect mix between problem-solving (Zach-like) and traditional puzzle game. Currently the levels don't really explore the full potential of the mechanics (except for the last level).
Also currently it making you redo the whole solution on failure is annoying, I think a more traditional run/stop system would be better.

Thanks a lot for the feedback, really appreciate the zach like compliment :D we're working on adding more levels soon, so stay tuned!

So far this is the most polished game I've seen from this jam. The puzzles feel incredibly well designed, the harmonious music is very fun to make, and it really delivers that "AHA!" moment like nothing else I've seen. The combo of beats and brain teasing works so well and it fits the jam theme in a really unique way. I can't really think of anything negative about this game, it's really well done. I think some sound effects for the buttons is really the only thing that could be added but honestly with how creative the beats are, the miniscule things like that should only be considered as an afterthought.

TL;DR: Best game I've played so far, insanely well built and the puzzles/music are super creative. 10/10 would love to see a full release

So glad you liked the game! Thanks a lot for the kind words. A bigger release is in the works, so stay tuned to play more soon!

Good Game with simple puzzle and good art and music but some puzzle can be solved without using all the given pieces  so you could have added star system there.

Developer(+2)

Yes, the goal is to expand the game further, so stay tuned :D

Aside from minor UI glitches, this looks very polished! Love puzzle games like this, very satisfying to play.

I'd love some feedback on our game too!

Developer

Thanks! Will check out your game :D

Very cool! The mechanics were rather intuitive, and I really love how a complete puzzle gives you a little musical jingle.

Developer

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it

Loved the tutorials! Stuck at the trolley problem, skill issue lol

Hearing the music loops is satisfying too.

Developer(+1)

Glad to know u liked ittt :D

This was soo cool! I like the level introducing new mechanics. The sound design is satisfying and overall a quite polished aesthetic. It has a lot of potential, just need to iron out the controls a bit, being able to drag/move already placed nodes would be cool. Puzzles were great, the last one a bit more challenging, nicely showing how this could expend into more content. Excellent entry!

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Really appreciate it!

I love this idea, reminds me a lot of Baba Is You. The graphics are clean and fit the vibe and the game is really polished :) As a composer I think it would be really satisfying if after the level is complete a few additional instruments come up to make a short looping light piece of music, the dings that the puzzle element make are so pleasant they’re just calling out to be used in a track!

Well done, I’d love to play a full game of this!

Developer

Thanks man, it means a lot. :D More content is coming soon! So stay tuned.

Very cool game! It was a little buggy, but I was able to beat it. One small thing - the music loops you create aren't super complex. I kind of wish different shapes were different instruments or chords or something, and by the end the music you made played more of a tune. But I get why that'd be harder to design. Definitely not something I'd expect in 96 hours! Great puzzle game.

Developer

Thanks lily, appreciate your feedback. Yeah levels were kinda hard for us to design too, hehe, and yes there are bugs, gonna update after jam.

just from the music and design alone i feel this has so much potential, and the gradual explanation of rules is really nice. But unfortunately I couldn't get past the first level where you have to interact (it's most probably some bug, but i couldn't place the switch or activate it in any way). Really looking forward to a fixed build.

Developer(+1)

Same color switches cant be placed in same colored path or on the notes or above any components. See if this works

Submitted(+1)

Ah, you have to place them on the track itself, got it.

That was a very interesting puzzle/music game! I really liked the minimalistic graphic and sound design, it could become a complete game one day!

Developer

Glad you enjoyed it! Currently working on a newer, bigger build :D

Very creative game. I quite like the presentation of the simple graphics and the sound designs is also fun.

Unfortunately, I found the controls to feel quite bad once you started playing the game. It was fine when you just press some buttons at the beginning (although even then the continue button seem to lag quite a bit compared to the other buttons), but when you started introducing the item placing I got quite frustrated. At first I didn't know what I was supposed to do with the "items", where I could place them or what was I even supposed to do with them. I figured out after a while that you are supposed to put them on the track, but there wasn't any indication at all that was what it was for. Furthermore, once you place an item on the track there was no way to remove it, forcing you to reset the level and watch a lengthy scene transition animation every time you mess up some little things.

Developer (1 edit) (+1)

Thanks for the feedback, we should have the item placement was a last moment thingy, could plan it well. I hope u liked the game apart from that.

Hi!

Very clever game, I love that take on the theme, and overall it's very polished and nicely done.

Here are some of my thoughts:

-  One of the rule mentions that the shortest path will be chosen. However, in some levels (for instance Up A Notch or Rule Number Three), both paths are the same length, and it doesn't seem like there's a priority system as some levels will prioritize the colored path, other will use the main red path. Nothing serious as you only have to play to find out how the level behaves, but for a puzzle game, that's a crucial info that is unclear which can be annoying. Maybe a path preview system before playing could be interesting? You may want to put the emphasis on the trial and error system, in such a case, a preview would not make sense, but I hope you get my point.

- I'd have expected the game to be a bit less punitive as it's a puzzle game and it's pretty cozy. However, after placing a tile, you cannot remove it or change its position, which prevents the player from trying things by moving the tiles and then press play to try out their solution. I believe this can quickly become very hard for people who have trouble with planning their level in their head only. Also, when playing and realizing that the solution is wrong, everything is lost, so you kinda have to memorize what you've tried not to do it again. It can be okay to include some memorization in the game, but here I feel like it would have been way more fun to play with a more flexible approach, focusing more on level design than having to do everything perfectly in one take.

- The artstyle is simple, but very effective and beautiful. However, it can quickly become repetitive, as well as the notes always being the same. I wish that some of the notes were bass notes, to add a bit more depth to the game audio (typically the first note from each bar could be a bass, it would be very cool imho). It's definitely okay for a jam game, but if I were to play the game for a few hours, I would expect it to have more visual/audio variations.

- Special mention for Up A Notch which is the best level by far in my opinion: it has this puzzle game moment where you think "okay it looks easy", then you try, and you look at the notes in the bars doing a A-B-B-A pattern and you're like "okay what?". Overall the game is not very hard (which makes sense for a puzzle game made for a jam), but that level was a very nice ending!

Hope you don't mind me being critical, I believe it's more constructive this way, but don't get my comment wrong, overall I seriously loved playing the game and that's definitely a game I'd play an extended version of!
Congratulations!

Developer

The algorithm I implemented has bias towards the closer to station path. So yess, I get it. Thanks for being this critical. Appreciate your feedback;D

this game is amazing, it felt like it was teaching me to code somehow? great job, love the sounds

Developer

Thanks :) Yes, this is kind of like coding, as it teaches you logic gates in a way :D Glad you enjoyed it.
