Nice execution on the Loop theme, good sfx and vfx, nice and clean all around. I was having some issues with my mouse being a lil wonky in the browser, but that was probably just me. Good work!
Great ambiance in a nicely styled 3d world. Cool take on the "record your actions", I think the only one i've played that was in 3d. Obviously more levels would be better, but also the movement speed and feel of the characters being faster and more responsive would go a lot for game-feel. Great job!
Really cool concept! I enjoyed figuring out that I didn't have to wait for my first ghost and that I could just redo my actions once I figured out what to do to get through the puzzles more quickly. Great polish overall for such a short jam. My only complaint was that the mouse sensitivity felt a little high and the camera orbiting was a bit off.
Great quality, basically fully finished game, something really hard to achieve with such a little time during game jam.
This is a really clever take on the time loop theme; solving the puzzles by cooperating with my past self felt great. I did find the pacing could be a bit slow while waiting for my ghost to finish its actions, but the core concept is fantastic and very solid. congratulations on this accomplishment in such a short time <3
By the way, I'm also in the jam, and I'd love to get your thoughts on my game if you have a moment.
Interesting idea! The loop mechanic is very clever but its a bit boring after looping to watch myself NOT be so clever and just waiting for me to figure out what to do.
You don't have to wait for your past self to search the solution. When you know what to do you can just redo the actions with your new one, create a new past of yourself a lot quicker.
But it's good feedback, a short tutorial that gives players time to understand the ghost and what they can do with it would help avoid a lot of frustration. (you are not the first with that comment !)
Cool game, working out the sequence of actions you need to do to beat the puzzle is fun. Good submission!
Unfortunately I get pretty bad motion sickness, so my experience playing was hampered a lot by the way the camera seems to constantly rotate. That said, I think this is a really cool idea, and could totally be explored further! A couple things I thought of while playing:
1. It feels weird that past goblins are able to phase through things like doors that were opened in a prior loop, but not yet opened in this loop. Allowing them to have collision with the environment would make timing things more of a puzzle (i.e. imagine how much differently a player would have to play if on loop 1 the goblin could easily and quickly get through a door, but because the player would have to unlock the door for them on loop 2, you may need to wait before entering the door on loop 1).
2. Highlighting things in the environment that are interactable makes it a lot easier for the player to get to the actual puzzle solving. When you don't do that, it can become a hide and seek before it ever gets to a puzzle because the player is looking for the lockpick/whatever other item. Not a huge deal for this jam version but if you extend it out that would be an important UX add.
This mechanism allows a single player to play a two-player game. Very nice!
Nice game! Music fits it well.
The game uses the time loop character mimic action mechanic in a good way but not revolutionary, but there is no need to reinvent the wheel! I liked it! If possible i would remove the shift to sprint mechanic if it is not used at all or even necessary and i would put the loop button on space!
Very nice execution of the concept. You definitely nailed the difficulty of the puzzles for a jam like this (not too simplistic and not too hard either). The way you tied the concept into the narrative was also really well done. And really nice artwork too, good job!
Really awesome concept and well made game! Unfortunately I didn't understand the puzzles haha, but I'm not into puzzle games usually (even tho i did make a puzzle platformer for this jam lol). Somehow my ghost opened the door in the first level when I wasn't looking and I have no idea how. But that's just a me problem, I think. Would be cool if you had a demo video with the solution maybe.
Pretty good idea here!
Love how you have to use your past self to solve the puzzles, they were great!
Honestly, I really like the concept here and even the levels are pretty easy and straightforward - I see the potential here (a potential for some lore clues too!). It would be nice to have an option to speed up the time a little (because I was wondering a lot and waiting for my ghost later), but still, good job!
Thank you for your feedback. I saw many people waiting for the ghost, but you can always make a new one when you understand the mechanic of the game and speed up the puzzle ! But it's really missing a learning curve/tutorial in the game, it's something we are going to improve in the v2 of the game !
I like the idea and the graphics (although the UI could use some love). Due to the lockpick icon, I'm left wondering if you originally were considering to add more mechanics and, if so, which ones 👀
Regardless, nice job 👍
The game scope changed a lot during the jam. One feature we had but we couldn't finish and make it works was a guard system with a detection and pathfinding. We also started implementing a physics so we can move object with our ghost.
We are not abandoning the project, we are taking note of all the feedbacks we can, and we will try to make our initial idea alive.
I agree for the UI, sadly we are missing an artist in the team to help us with this, we tried our best and now we are looking for someone who can help us !
I get some interesting vibes from walking around with my clone ghost bro, i like it
Always love me a goblin game!
You did some very good puzzles, the visuals were very well put together.
Well done! :D
I love the concept - my first thought was "oh man I'd watch an entire animated show with the premise of a mere goblin that stumbles across time loop magic" - but heck I could not figure out how to get past the second locked door. And that mouse sensitivity was so high it made me sort of dizzy. I really wanted to like this because I'm a sucker for goblins, so I think maybe just hold the player's hand a little more while they're learning the way the game works. Maybe one of those things where if the player takes more than a certain amount of time on one puzzle the game gives them a nudge in the right direction.
Hello, you can change the sensitivity in the option (press [esc]) The first puzzle is to figure out the potential with the clone and the lockpick but we didn't have time to make a proper tutorial. I take note for future jam to enforce the tutorial because you are not the first one who struggle with the first puzzle (The solution is to take the lockpick, open the door, find the stone, use it to return in your cell, your ghost will open the door and then now you still have your lockpick to open the second door)
Ah, see I thought it was that but what confused me was that I thought if that was the solution, I would take the lockpick from the skeleton a second time. I didn't realize it was still in my inventory, I thought starting a new loop meant that items in the world would be reset too.
