Crazy you made Outer Wilds in so little time lol

Developer

lol thanks a lot! Glad you like it! :)

Btw we’re making another game that has Outer Wilds as a reference, called Soulchain (it’s on Steam), you should check it too ;)

Developer

That's such high praise I hope you know HAHAHA it's one of my top 5 favorite games, glad that the intention got across <3 thanks!

Loved the game the whole playthrough, it honestly might be my favorite from this jam! I really like how you had access to all the skills from the beginning but unlocked the knowledge with each playthrough. The platforming was really fun and the timed element made speed running a nice and intense challenge. This game is great!

Developer(+1)

That’s kind of you, thank you! We’re happy you love our little game, thanks for playing :)

Btw we’re making another knowledge based metroidvania called Soulchain (it’s on Steam), I think you’ll love it too ;)

I always love bug characters (yes, I’ve played Hollow Knight) so this art style is already a win in my book! There’s so much polish in the little details in the environment and animations, I’m impressed this was made in 2 days: excellent work you guys!

Developer

Thank you so much! We’re glad you enjoyed! :)

Btw we’re making an even bigger metroidvania called Soulchain (it’s on Steam), you should check it later too ;)

Exceptionally good game for a jam, because I seriously think that with a little polish and some way to shorten the game (maybe I’m biased towards that because *) this could be a perfectly enjoyable, cheap, short experience I would definitely buy. And I hope I can do it in the future!!! -SPOILER- *: I REALLY struggled to understand the double-click control tutorial. I thought it was telling me to first click one, then the other; hopefully I did not abandon right there but it took me like 15 extra minutes lol. PD: Soul Chain looks cool, looking forward to it :)

Thank you so much! We’re glad you enjoyed our game and thanks for playing :)

Btw we’re already thinking about making it a full game, so keep an eye out! And thanks for wishlisting Soulchain :))

Loved the idea of having a metroidvania but you already have all the skills you need (and with resetting instead of backtracking). The take on the Sisyphus story was also interesting and fitting for the theme. Overall you all did a very good job!

Developer

Thank you so much! Glad you like it :)

Really creative, I love different uses of the same terrain in games. I also love when all of your skillset and tools are available, and the game only teaches you how or where to use them. Peak (of the mountain).

Developer

Thank you so much, glad you like it! :)

Really cool idea to use Sisyphus as the main concept—and I love that it's one of those bugs that roll mud balls, haha.

It reminded me a lot of Hollow Knight—the insect theme, the map design, the character’s movement, and especially the background music, which gave me serious Mantis Lords vibes (my favorite track from Hollow Knight).

Amazing work! :)

Thank you so much! We’re glad you like our game :)

I’m personally honored you think my song reminds a hollow knight ost, thanks ;)

Incredible game even without the fact that it was made in 2 days! Polished in every category and super satisfying use of the theme.

Developer

Thank you so much! We hope you enjoyed :)

The "A-ha!" moment at the end is perfection! This game sincerely deserves a spot in the top 20, embodies the theme of "Loop" perfectly

great art and sound design, gameplay also seems fun but I can't throw the ball since I'm on trackpad ;-;

Developer

Thank you so much! Oh that's a bummer, we hope you can play it properly some day :)

Amazing platformer! I really liked the progression in this one, it actually made me feel like I'm getting closer and closer to achieving an amazing, seemingly impossible feat!

Keep up the good work!

Developer

Happy to know you enjoyed our little game! Thanks for playing :))

I'm always a big fan of playing games that give you all the tools you need at the beginning of the game but you don't know how to utilise them until you learn them - Tunic for example. Bravo!

Developer

Thank you, hope you enjoyed! :)

Btw we’re making an even bigger knowledge based metroidvania called Soulchain (it’s on Steam), if you love games like that, you should check it out ;)

Awesome game with creative mechanics and a lot of content to explore. I made it to the end, and it was very satisfying to learn new abilities and see how to apply them in different spots on the map. Excellent job!

We’re glad you enjoyed it, thanks for playing! :)

This is such a fun game to speedrun! Managed to get a time of 43.33. ~~Also somehow haven’t found a single bug; a rarity in a game jam!~~ The only thing I’d change is the tutorial for the high jump; I (along with someone else in the comments) kept jumping before following the instructions. Maybe put a line under Sisyphus to indicate that it’s to be done on the ground?

EDIT: found a single bug - managed to land on the very edge of a 90° slope corner and got a fire boost up the hill.

EDIT 2: 42.40 :>

Developer

Glad to know you enjoyed our game! Thanks for playing :)

Wow that’s a good record, congrats! And about the tutorial, we will take this in consideration!

And it’s not a bug, it’s a feature for speed runners lol ;)

Very ambitious to make a metroidvania-type game for a jam, but boy does this charming game pull it off! -GH

Absolutely loved this. A brainvania! I've wanted to do one myself but they just seem so difficult (especially in a full game context where the player might accidentally learn a technique on their own -- at least here that's unlikely to happen). Still, you have to be clever enough to make the ideas natural to have them intuitive, but not intuitive enough for the player to stumble upon. It's a hard balance, so I'm very impressed that it was found here. This is my favorite game of the jam so far, even more than the Sisyphus becomes a live-streamer game and the Sisyphus discovers <spoiler>cat videos</spoiler> game. I've wishlisted your game as well.

I've only played like 2 or 3 other brainvanias (Toki Tori 2, The Witness, arguably Outer Wilds) so playing more is a blast. I feel like this and the meta-sokoban (Corrypt, the end of Baba is You) are my favorite micro-genres.

Developer

Thanks a lot, that's very kind of you! We're glad you enjoyed our little game this much, thanks for playing :)

And thanks for wishlisting our game, I think you'll love it too since it is another brainvania ;)
