Simple and sweet, nice game! I do think the gameplay suffers from a lack of testing though, I could very easily spam the buttons and got a score of 174 and then no more birds showed up for some reason. Also it's hard to tell what key does what and what exactly the timing should be. I think a visual indicator when the buttons are pressed would help, maybe an electric zap following the power line. The art and music is really polished, cohesive, and well put together... I just think putting a focus on the programming/design could really show off the team's potential next time.
I liked the game! I do wish there was some kind of highlight on the wire you're pressing to make it feel more responsive. Otherwise, it's a really nice game. I really liked the art and the music too.
If you have time, can you check out our game as well?
Hello there Jasser,
Thanks for the review and comment, your idea is a good suggestion to increase the game feel!!
Very cool idea! I liked the how the birds flying away and landing keeps you on your toes for which notes to play. It could perhaps do with more feedback when hitting the notes, or showing that you've pressed a key but I think there's a cool foundation here to build upon
Top score: 33
The birds were so cute! I really liked the spritework. Props for attempting a rhythm game for the jam!
I do wish it had more music aspects, like having the birds create a melody or sing along to a song instead of being random. I also found the controls very difficult with the translation from horizontal to vertical. I ended up literally rotating my keyboard 90 degrees haha
Hello there SWiggityCricket,
Thanks for the review and the comment, we reflected on the issue of vertical or horizontal controls, but we decided to go with the horizontal to bring the idea of playing a piano (where the keys are horizontal but the sheet music is vertical)
Neat little game, love the atmosphere!
Hello there Kazmord,
Thanks for the review and the comment!!
the game is peacefull, but i have a hard time understanding wichkey is working, looks like the 5th line is not the 5th key, and it make me a bit lost.
Thanks for this game <3
We made it so you have to use the '9' and '0' number keys to play the last two lines, because it felt a bit more comfortable!! Thanks for playing our game!! We're glad you had a peacefull time ;) .
