I like this game's gameplay mechanic. Good job!

I found out the tutorial was broken the hard way. I did see the warning message on the main page after already experiencing it.
I think I encountered quite a few bugs, but I'm not sure because it wasn't very clear how the game works. Like I could sometimes pass through walls but not always.
Some of the explosion sounds got old quickly, shame there was no way to mute them.
The car movement felt really good, the art style really works, makes it look fun. I had fun driving around and destroying things, but once the timer ran out and nothing happened I was just left confused.
Once the bugs (which is expected from a jam) are fixed I'm sure it will a really fun game to play!
Overall, excellent job!
yeah, the game is unfortunately among one the buggier of all the jam submissions, mostly due to this being effectively my first game, and me learning all the code on the fly while dealing with unity's rotation system.
theres was definetly a lot more player UI features in the initial draft like volume and window settings but i spent most of the development time working on and perfecting the car mechanics and afterwards the in game assets, so 90% of the ui-based systems fell on the way side.
though im still glad that the work i did put into the car did pay off as most everyone seems to enjoy it.
but yes! the moment the jam ends expect a bug fix version which also includes all the features that broke at the last minute.
fun idea with the donut driving. maybe there is something here some wall sprites are hard to read (or is there a difference at all between the objects you can move through and not) and I am personally not great at aiming at quickly moving targets,
yeah, the wall sprites are a bit buggy due to me designing the map and learning to use the tilemap litterally 2 hours before the deadline so unfortunatelly the map is quite, buggy.
the car movement is definetly hard to control at higher speeds, it was supposed to be easier with an aim assits towards the nearest pivot but we didnt have time to implement it so the game ended up a fair bit harder then intended
Interesting spin on the theme. I like the polished game mechanic, but I feel like the sound effect were a little to loud.
Overall great game :D
I really like the art design, very cool game, very well made 👏 Glad I saw you from YouTube and tried your game!
The swinging around in this game which also gives you a little speed boost in the direction you let go was definitely my favorite part! I only wish I got a DUI
I love the personality of this game! The art and music is super fun, and I really like how swinging with the grappling hook feels. The camera zooming out is really nice!
I do think when you're moving quickly however it is really difficult to click accurately on the grapple point. You have to get your mouse directly on it or else nothing happens. I would suggest making the hitbox to click the point potentially as big as the turn radius so that it's much easy to grapple while going fast and staying in the flow.
Awesome job!
our artistic team definetly did a lot for the vibe of the game so glad it shows!
yeah, i was aware of the grappling hook issues and ideally wanted to include an aim assist & fix some consistency issues to make it easier to work with at higher speeds, but we had only the car mechanics developed at this stage and needed to make the rest of the game assets so it had to be left behind.
Very nice, spinning round the poles to navigate or collect items was fun though sometimes difficult to pull off. Also liked the tire marks left behind that was a nice touch. Was a bit unsatisfying in the level design that I could see some diamonds on the level at the top but couldn't access them.
Not sure why but the controls did not work for me.. pressing wasd does nothing, only space changes the text in the top right. does look fun though
Oh wow someone else did a game with drifting cars around as well!
Firstly I got to say I love the art of the game! Its very stylized and really pops out at you which I find very fitting for the speed focused vibe of this game! I like the idea of trying to use the grapple hook to hit max speed but I feel the game was too cramped to really make the most of the idea. Also the UI for stuff like the pause menu didn't seem to work on my end and the tutorial didn't really show me how to play. Overall, nice work especially for how short this jam was!
Yes! our artist did a fantastic job and really helped with the visual style of the game.
when it comes to the levels however i do wish i had put in a bit more time earlier into developing them but as we were litterally on the last hour of the jam i had to quickly patch together what i think would be most enjoable and didnt have time to add all the extra details that'd actually tell you whats going on.
unfortunately yeah, a lot of the ui was broken mostly due to this being the first time making menu ui for me and having to figure things out along the way.
Didnt think to find someone with a similar idea to mine, but hey using a grappling hook to swing around a pole is a lot more fun than just driving around it. I will say that it would be nice if instead of having to click on the pole, you automatically attach to the nearest pole when you hit left click. Tracking the pole you want to connect to gets kind of tough. But other than that cool concept.
I like the sound of the barrels, and it was quite fun to grappling hook to try and get max speed, not bad considering the length of the jam. Fun idea, I too like physics grappling hooks!
