Thank you to everyone for playtesting and reviewing our game. We are taking your feedback onboard and will make some changes. This has been our first Game Jam and it's been a lot of fun and learning. Also been great to see all the wonderful creations everyone came up with. See you next time, now we are on to Brackeys. Happy game dev journeys :)

I liked it! But noticed a bug  when I first launched there were no enemies at all. Not a single plane.

Developer

Do you mean in the first few seconds or the first time you played? Not seen that bug, I am wondering if the spawner did not load fully on first run?

Submitted

Nice idea and realization. Was a bit difficult to dodge at first, but than i found that if I hold down S, than no plane can hit me, which made it incredible easy.

Good job! I liked it!

Developer(+1)

Sounds like you found the speed run trick. Good feedback, thank you.

Submitted(+2)

Really liked it. It's a pretty simple concept but it fits the theme and limitation well. I particularly enjoyed how the coin sound effect increases in pitch the higher your combo is. It's a nice touch. If I had to give one critique, it's that there isn't much of a reason to not keep the parachute toggled.

Developer(+1)

I am toying with the idea of starting without a parachute and then having you collect one on the way and see how that plays. There is a time trial element to get to the LZ as fast as possible. If you had a magic wand what would you change in the game?

Submitted

If I had to change one thing (and this is a bit of a nitpick), the first time the player collides with a plane, it usually subtracts two lives instead of one, effectively giving the player two hits before they lose instead of the implied three.

Super fun! Really nice game - well done!

Submitted(+1)

Really fun, the controls are very satisfying, might be worth making the screen a little wider, even if you still restrict the player to the same area, a little more time to see planes coming would be helpful

Developer(+1)

That's a great shout, we'll likely add this in soon!

Developer(+1)

We will make it so Cheesy Boy Ben. Thanks for the feedback.

Submitted(+2)

Did i only played on hard? Yes. Why? Idk, almost lost my mind, but had fun!

Developer

Lol, I have to set it to easy myself. Glad you had fun :)

Developer

haha you’re braver than I, glad you liked it!

Submitted(+3)

Whoa nicely executed!

Funny that my game was similar concept but 3d haha

I like how the player sprite stretches to show speed, and the planes coming in keep you on your toes

Polished 2d style is nice as well!

Developer(+1)

With all the game systems built it could easily translate to 3d game. I have quite fond memories of Pilotwings on the Nintendo. Maybe Downfall 3d could be on the cards?

Developer

so glad you liked it, your game is awesome! Alan smashed it with each feature we added so this jam was a total joy. Rly happy you liked the pixel art to, it’s my first time doing it for a game jam so will likely do it again in the future. Thanks for playing!

Nice game - well done! Art is really good and the game is very polished overall Nice!

Developer

really glad you liked it! Thanks for playing!

Everyone that has submitted a game with a skydiver dressed in red as a protagonist to this particular game jam is a genius, I think we can agree on that. This opinion is not biased at all.

Jokes aside, this might be one of my favorite games in the competition so far, it's tight and fun. Good job, you two!

Developer

Haha thanks mate was a real joy to make!

Love the retro style art, but I do feel the screen is TOO narrow. I understand it's a design choice, but dying felt inevitable and frustrating.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we did make that design choice early on as we were going for a parallax effect, however I will experiment with a full screen version as I get what you are saying. Also maybe experimenting with different modes less planes lower down to give you more of a chance, maybe slowing the rate of decent. You can increase your lives by pressing 1 to put on easy mode.

Best look clouds in the jam so far!

Developer(+1)

Milo did a great job here, he also produced the music and sfx. I have been very fortunate to have partnered with him on this https://milocurran.github.io/ .    Alan

thanks for the kind words and for playing - though clouds are all the game would be if it weren’t for Alan solo programming the whole game, couldn’t have asked for a better teammate!
