This was such a meaningful and satisfying continuation. It’s clear how much thought went into expanding both the gameplay and the narrative, and the result is something really special. The pacing, the atmosphere, and the way everything ties together... it all just works so well.

The improvements to movement and flow made a big difference too. It felt much smoother and more approachable without losing the challenge. Also really appreciated the small quality-of-life additions that kept the focus on the story rather than repetition.

There are still a few rough edges, but nothing that takes away from the overall experience. Beautiful work and genuinely moving.... very well done!!

Hi!

I saw your message in Twitch! The game is almost ready for a mobile use. I need to change the interaction with the last 5 pages (far more dinamic than the first 5), and make a good ending/credits part. I will tell you when ready ^^

great!

The melancholic/nostalgic vibe is really well put together with the story and audio!

Beautiful game(again). The story expanded so well from the first part to create this amazing story overall. Thanks so much for expanding on this experience.

About the game's improvements: The difficulty feels much more balanced now. The additional platforms made the platformer itself much more forgiving, and the new levels are also a great addition to this game. When I was playing the part 1 version, I thought of a fading screen---And I did not expect a full on burning animation! In addition, I really loved the portal & flame particles(although I don't really get how you did that).

Story wise: Wow. just wow. this is truly art. The story shifted very well on the expanded pages, and it was a great read. Amazing, as always.

Thank you very much for your words ^^

Hehe, the portal and flame particles are extremely easy to generate using GDevelop, but need some time to configure them exactly as you want. This game engine, based on events, and practically no-code system, for people like me, with no experience at all in programing, is like an open door to express things impossible to express using other software… GDevelop has a lot of premade tools to use. And that has possitive points, but also negative ones (the spacing of the autotype words, jumping from line to line; it´s frustating).

This night (in my timezone, hehe), I’ll play your game. I want to see the improvements!

I was so happy to see you come and finish the jam! Excellent game and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience:

  • The improvements to the movement, jumping and platform mechanics are great: just enough to scare a little, without becoming frustrating.
  • The option to skip text in the messages is gold!
  • The way the art fit the story as you progressed was really cool
  • Great ending!

Minor bugs:

  • It needs a little bit of text editing for spelling
  • The text spacing is a little off, the words at the end of lines tend to "jump" when a new line is created in real-time

I love your style. Well done!

Developer

Thanks for your words and feedback ^^ And thanks for loving my style, I love yours too!

Yep, the feedback of this special Trijam was fantastic for all the projects, I think that this model can be used some times a year (special ocasions). As developers of our own prototypes, receiving feedback and implementing changes is something unique and I’ve learned a LOT of things.

The text spacing is a bug on the GDevelop game engine. It can be manually solved, but requires too much time for a Trijam… And…yep, spelling… I’m from Spain with a decent English level, but I make mistakes, sorry ^^!

This plays so much better then the last time I played it. I was actually able to complete the game this time.  Just after I got page 9 I fell and it reset WAY back before page 6.  Glad I pushed through and finished it.  Lovely game.

Developer

Oh, no. Probably I forgot to change the respawn. Sorry hehe.

Thanks for the feedback, I appreciate your words :)

This is beautiful and emotional. I'm glad that you came back to complete the story. I also love the addition of the epigraph poems.

The checkpoint and the ability to skip through the page animation made it much more smooth to play through platforming mistakes instead of getting frustrated at having to do everything again, which helped keep focus on the story.

It could use some polishing and line editing, but it feels very complete as is.

Developer

Thank you for the comments. Yes, the feedback was very important to detect the weak points and work on them. It wasn´t my best proyect, the time this game was made was a very complicated one… And yes, it needs a bit more of polishing and line editing, it´s not exactly what it was planned in my mind, but it´s almost complete as a short story of overcoming a tragic trauma…
