  • Graphics : Fine
  • Music / Sfx :
    • Music : The song choice is a bit too 'epic' for a stealth game. (Unfitting but the song itself is fine)
    • SFX : A bit lacking
  • GUI : Fine, a way to expand the log would be good.
  • Gameplay :
    • Lacking , it doesn't really 'feel' like a stealth game, there's seemingly very little punishment for being caught.
    • Being caught is actually confusingly hard, being able to walk in front of the guards for a couple of turns or even just walking right through them.
    • You seem to be able to softlock yourself, rather easily at that.
    • Lack of alternate paths to avoid guards, other hiding spots, abilities like a dash or a 'throw' to distract guards, blackjack option to KO guards , etc. there's no mechanical depth here.
    • Traps are far too common and scattered without rhyme or reason.
  • Notes :
    • Bandages keep healing 1hp but aren't used up, nor stop bleeding.
    • Invisibility needs to not be a 100% transparency , instead a 70-90% transparency so you can keep track of where you are easier.
    • It seems to be very easy to softlock yourself, things like keys being single-use , or items you need simply just not existing.
      • 'Bones' are apparently from skeleton guards attacking you, but there's nothing suggesting that'd be the case, nor is it something the player is likely to think of when it's a stealth game.
    • Pressing space to try to skip a turn was opening up a new tab to your old game website which 404s.
    • Everything being randomly generated , at least right now isn't helping things much. Some hand-made rooms that have more rhyme and reason to their layout would be nice.

As it is , the concept and graphics are fine, but the gameplay is completely lacking. I wouldn't call this much of a game in it's current state as you can hardly do anything aside from move around, pick up items and use scrolls. The stealth mechanics are near non-existent with hiding in a single recurring bit of furniture being the only thing particularly 'stealthy'.

Hello! Welcome to Feedback Quest 8! My name's Hythrain, a co-host and one of the streamers for this event! This feedback is being written live as I stream your game! If you're interested in seeing my live reaction, let me know and I can send you a link to the VOD once it's posted to YouTube!

So my normal approach for any game in these events is simple: I get the game, make sure it's not a virus, then play it with as little information on how to play as possible. This way, I can judge how intuitively someone can figure out the game. Only if it's obvious that I need to read more will I do so. I note this so you can get a sense where some of these feedback comes from. In addition, I want to note that feedback and rating are different; don't use this feedback to gauge what I'll rate, nor should you view my rating as entirely indicative of my feedback.

This game felt a little strange to play, primarily due to how it would jump each time you moved a tile. I was also pretty confused about what I was doing, as the player is just dropped in with there being a lot of different things going on that they need to familiarize themselves with. Obviously, this means I think it should have a tutorial to help teach the player how to play. Just a few of the things I never understood by the time I stopped playing was why I would sometimes have an image of a skull above me, what the books did, and if there was supposed to be a way to progress the turns while hiding (because if there isn't, why bother having it).

I also encountered some bugs, particularly with the fact that I couldn't escape enemies once they had seen me. This was regardless of what I did, like using invisibility or teleport spells; the enemy would just continue to follow me forever until I was dead.

These were the stand-out things for me. However, I do see a lot of potential in this and I hope to see more of it.

A great concept for a game. The fact that enemies take a while to spot you is a good design choice---too many other stealth games are unforgiving in this regard. There are some things that need improving:

-The UI is a bit overwhelming at first. Two different contracts to choose from felt like too much to track.

-Some tasks on the contracts felt bizarre. I understand the guild wants me to steal things, but why do they want an enemy to steal a spell from me? Why do they want me to drink an antidote?

-The button in the lower right corner of the game that takes the player to your other games needs to be removed. It's placed in the worst spot (right over the fullscreen button? really?) and it kept activating whenever I pressed space bar, so I couldn't pass the turn hiding at all. In addition, I don't think anyone would be interested in viewing your games DURING a playthrough. Maybe you should put it on the game over screen only?

I scoured the whole map and couldn't find bones. I think I needed to kill a skeleton, but I didn't know how to do that. Right when I found what looked like bones, I died.

I'd say this is an idea worth exploring further. Improve the conveyance and onboarding to new players, and maybe clean up the UI.

Thanks for this feedback.

Bones are "bullets" that skeleton enemies attack you with, if they detect you.  You want to avoid getting hit by them when your health is low.  Sorry for the logo button, I hadn't realised it got in the way.

A really unique game! I enjoyed the twist of no combat and having to figure out the secrets to escape, which adds a layer of depth to the world. My only real issue was the slightly confusing UI and the post-processung being a bit too intense, as it sort of overwhelms you with information about your goal and inventory. I could not complete the game as I was confused about how far towards my goal I was. Maybe if you had a bit more of a tutorial, it might have helped, along with having more prompts when you were making progress in the game. But it was still enjoyable and the music was nice, keep it up!
