Interesting game, cool that you made AIs for the characters you didn't choose. Seems like you forgot to loop the music though xD. The art and walking animation has some character to it.
The concept looks interesting, but I'm not sure if I understood correctly how it works. The combat should provide players more agency as others said.
I like how your partners move around, you really feel like you're in a team, that's cool. Also I like the art a lot!
I really liked the concept! and the walking animation haha
I think with a bit more polish it can be a great unique fun game!
Very interesting concept! I do have some feedback on the execution:
- During the fighting portion, it feels like the player has very little agency. Since the only real option is to move the character around, the outcome of the battle doesn't feel meaningfully influenced by player decisions. The NPCs are also so strong that winning is almost guaranteed regardless of what I did.
- Because of this lack of agency, the fortune cookie mechanic felt a bit pointless. I wasn’t sure how to apply the information it gave me in a way that mattered, and in the end it didn’t seem to affect the outcome anyway.
On a more positive note, the NPC Ai was very impressive, I can tell a lot of work was put into implementing it. The art was also a stand out. From the wanted poster character select, to the camp the game starts in.
Overall, still very impressive for a game jam. Good Job.
Nice game, great graphics. The fights are fairly simple, thought the game locked at one point, but then more enemies came and I defeated them and I won!
I love the visuals! As for the cookies, I still don't get how they affect the gameplay. Sometimes an enemy goes off-screen, and I can't kill it.
Nice game! I'm not sure about what the fortune cookies actully do.
Loved the art and style of this game! I wish there was a bit more to the gameplay but overall, a great submission to this game jam
Love the visuals, especially the hub. Pretty cool and fun walk animation!
the art is really nice, wasnt sure what to do when i started and the waves took ages to spawn again thought it was broken, id like to see enemy hp if possible
Nice game!
Great art style and fitting sounds. How did you make the soundtrack? Great western feeling, the walk animation as well!
I agree with the comments below though, a tutorial would've been great and something more to do in the fight. It was basically a auto-battle for me, I just positioned myself to my lasso would hit enemies.
the soundtrack was made in fl studio!
like the art! you need to have controls listed somewhere cuz I was about to quit from the camp area since I had no idea what button to press until i ran my finger down the keyboard to find the E key.
nice arts style!,a tutorial or explination felt needed
cool
Hey, love the art and style the goofy western vibes are immaculate. I did have some trouble navigating the game so maybe adding a tutorial or some explanation of the controls would be helpful. Overall though very cool!
love the art and story good job!
great vibes, love the characters!
Loved the game and especially the art, its really cool!
