Ranked from 42 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

How does the game fit the theme?
The game is divided in waves, and by the end of every wave the player can choose between HARD WAVE and REGULAR WAVE, with the hard one droping more points. Since the game has limited time, taking the risk of the challenge might result in more points.

Also, the user have to go to the place where the points dropped, which means teaking an extra risk for the sake of earning points.

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
None

How many people worked on the game?
2

Pretty simple but nice game. It's fun to play and the risk mechanic is really cool! It has a lot of potential for further expansions. Good job!

Thank you so much for the feedback! We are aiming to add some further updates :D

Great job! This was very satisfying to play. Based on one of my favourite games, but you had a spin of only being able to shoot in one direction (unless I missed how to aim)!  Interested to see what direction you take it in if you decide to work on it after the jam.

It is enjoyable little game. Obviously, having more enemies and upgrades as well as some audio would be great, but what already is threre feels solid and can be build upon in the future. Nice work!

Pretty simple but pretty solid as well. The graphics are nice. Sound would have been a good idea as well. The gameplay would benefit a lot from more enemy variety and a bit of a higher difficulty to justify the upgrades.

Nice little Vampire Survivor style game :) I could see have some fun with weapon or enemy variety. I really liked the visuals of the enemies and the main character.
Well done!

A decent game, though it could have benefited from more challenging enemies (e.g. that shoot projectiles/magic bullets/whatever towards you at least) and the controls for setting the aiming of the fireball was confusing to me (looks like only holding the virtual joystick on the right with the LMB (which seems more intended and natural for mobile, but feels weird on PC).

Also no audio, at least some audio (even just sound effects) would have been nice here.

Nice art, and the gameplay works too.

But I didn't understand the aiming joystick (thought it was for mobile), so I could only shoot to the left.

Made it to the 3rd level, but nothing pushed me to go beyond, unless scoring points.

I think like others reviews that it's too easy to be fun.

Anyway, congrats on finishing the jam!

The game has no sound at all, which is a huge minus as video games are an audio visual experience. And sound design can enhance the experience in every way. Enemy sounds, music and more.

I liked the upgrade system and controls worked well. I got a final score of 325. The game was way too easy though. I think one enemy who can shoot something back would have given the speed upgrade a real purpose.  If there were obstacles like walls or spikes or something it would also be more challenging as you need to plan your movements. You could change the layout of the traps every wave, so the player need to learn new routes every wave.

Right now you just run around the enemy's in circles and keep on shooting. It was a little dull in the end. But it is a nice idea to work upon.

I didn't get the theme though as the game was too easy, there was never a reason to choose regular wave.

Even if it's only 5 minutes, I would recommend adding a pause screen as sometimes you might get to the door or answer a call and then you cannot pause the game.

I enjoyed it at first, but it did start to feel a bit underwhelming, considering I picked the hard wave every time. Other than that, the game played smoothly, I really like the art, the skull sprite in particular looks great, and title screen looks really cool too! Just needs some harder enemy types to add some more challenge and variety to the game in my opinion. Otherwise, great job!

Really nice game I played it and my 6 yo also played it and loved it. Unfortunately the movement controls sometimes get stuck on left up position. And as others mentioned aiming is a bit finicky. Otherwise awesome game.

omg we got the child seal of approval 🙏

Took me a while to realize there was a in-screen joystick hahaha but overall had fun playing, I feel like hard waves could be even harder 😁

Joystick makes aiming realllly difficult. I wish there was a bit more variety as well. I liked the art and visuals the best.

Fairly good game overall, I think having an option to not use the joystick for desktop users would be a good idea, it was a little awkward to aim with, and as others have said, music and sound effects really do a lot to make a game feel more alive.

Nice Game !!

Fun game! Took me a while to get the joystick tho

this game is a wonderful starting point for a full fledged steam release.

Not sure why but the joystick didn't work for me on pc. I also tried playing on my phone, but the buttons didn't respond to being tapped.

Developer

Yeah, we got a lot of comments like that

I’m looking into fixing the android build

Addicting, even if the joystick thingy is weird to control on the PC

Great early concept to a pseudo-survivorslike. Like others have said, a little sound design goes a long way. Additionally I imagine you made it for mobile so I'm sure it feels fine on that, on the PC it feels a bit strange having to drag the joystick around to adjust your aim

Cool concept
