Very happy you enjoyed the art! You're not the only one who encountered the softlock issue. We're currently working on a solution, but running into n e w bugs in return. Ech.

A full restart would probably be too harsh for this kind of game but I feel like go back 2 or three islands but get like 10 of each cookie and $150 could feel pretty reasonable. The only reason I soft locked was cause I started that travel leg with no cookies and no money cause I poorly managed multiple islands before that
