How does the game fit the theme?
The theme for this game jam was Risk It for the Biscuit. The way the theme comes into play in this game is when you decide to enter a new room. Will you leave the floor behind with what you have or will you risk the leftover time in exchange for more gems, but be careful as some rooms may lock you in to an enemy encounter or even a boss fight for the unlucky few. (Also the biscuit health pickups :) ).

What code and assets did you not make from scratch during the jam (if any)?
Music, Sound Effects, Font

Loved it! I loved the sword play. so cute! I like the whole concept, just clock shouldn't kill you, but enemies. I like the characters. good sound. good play. fun! I can only imagine what further development would bring about. what game engine did you use? what graphics assets. Enjoyed trying it out. keep up the good work. .. check out my submission :) thanks.

I used Unity, and the drawings were all done by me if that's what you mean by graphic assets. Thank you for playing!

Unity! Oh, ok. thanks :) Wow! good job on the graphics drawings :D

Very good game but I sucked at it and couldn't get past floor 3 lmao

Very well incorporates the risk theme. If there were more enemies and level varieties in the future this could easily be an addictive rougelite.

Purple cage also felt odd to me, maybe just locking the door would have made it clearer it is intentional. I also wasn't sure about the "polished" upgrade, i kept buying it out because i had too much money, but it didn't seem like gems give to the timer.

Developer

you gain time when you exit based on how many gems you gathered on that floor. The polisher upgrade would increase the time gained from the gems gathered upon exiting. Although it was really tough to balance I think it ending up not being too powerful in the end.

Developer

Also the purple cage was the only piece of placeholder art that I never finished. The original idea was to have the doors have bars over them but I didn’t know how to visualize that with the way I ended up doing the walls in the end.

Very fun game! One of the games that actually feels the "risk"! Theme aligned perfectly.

Great job!

Cool game and good concept for the jam and nice art!, good job!

Very simple and fun! I fiund a few problems. The first one is that i one didn't find enough gems in the floor or keys to explore locked rooms, so i ended up losing because of it. The other problem is that when you die in a room with the purple cage, the cage is still there when you respawn any so you're locked out of the room. Anyway i had a lot of fun playing, it was intuitive and also pretty intense. Great game!

Ok I just read that the cage thing was intentional, forget it

Developer(+1)

The soft lock with the locked room is also intended too it’s a risk to not buy keys from the shop. If you emptied every room and still didn’t get enough gems the door would still open but if there’s still locked rooms it won’t. Only thing I wish I did was have the game give you an early game over this way or have some way to quit without waiting out the timer.

Developer

But now hearing that two people think the purple rooms shouldn’t stay closed maybe I shouldn’t have done that 😅

Like the Zelda like gameplay mixed with racing against the clock.

Fun stuff.  I'll always like level up mechanics.

That was great fun! If you have the time, I really think you could develop this further. It's an amazing effort for such a short amount of time, and it really fits the theme!

If I could feedback one thing, it would be that when you die in a challenge room with purple lines/lasers, you can't enter it again to get your loot. I don't know if that is intentional.

Developer(+1)

That was intentional yes! And thank's for the kind words!

amazing game!
