I love the effort and care put into the assets of this game! It looks great! Fun little game too, I'm having a lot of fun!

Beautiful looking game and fun to play once I worked out what was going on (at least I think I did!). Winning 20 rounds is a lot to play to win the game. I managed 5 rounds total so I didn't get to see what happened at the end. For a game jam game you might want to factor that in that most people will only have 10-15 minutes play time before they look at another game. I suspect I'd have to play for over an hour to win 20 rounds, or maybe I was just taking too long reading what the cards were.

I'm not sure what it had to do with biscuits or taking risks for them but it was a great submission. Well done.

This is a very well designed trick-taking game!  There are a lot of choices that matter and the player is rewarded for thinking ahead.  It feels like I should probably be able to mix two mono-suit cards if they both match my current pair?  Otherwise very clean.

I also like the monster mechanics.  Bidding to win favorable effects adds an extra dimension above and beyond just trying to win tricks.  I also liked the idea of wagering monsters, but I don't think any of my accepted wagers actually went through one way or the other.

On overall vibe, the character art was great, the cards looked great, and the various little monsters all had their own identity.  Things did feel a little quiet.  Probably could use some background music of some sort.  I think it would also help the flow of the game to speed up the NPCs decisions.

Very fun on the whole!  I stuck around to the end of the game and I was able to pull out the victory. The guy that turns $50 into trick wins was the hands-down VIP.

Wow! Honestly this is one of the best games I’ve played this jam, definitely my top 3.  Everything feels really polished. Gameplay is really fun, reminded me a little of playing Mahjong. The character designs are especially badass/awesome. I also loved gambling for Monchitos like Madbell. 11/10 stars

Woah thank you so much, your words made my day!

The art looks great. I was a little confused as I think I was winning but my avatar looked distressed, not sure if on purpose. The game gets slowed down by the turns of the opponents, I would speed things out or maybe add some animation or some more banter (I did get a few lines but only a couple times). Also, the icons on the cards being colored helps, if possible I would recommend adding colors to the icons in the chat window.

Developer

Thanks for the feedback, we will consider adding those things to the game!

This is a cool game! I did not struggle with playing too much it just took a couple of hands to try things out. I really like how characters have things to say or try to make side bets with you. Its really cool! Also the art is really good.I thought this was cool and stands out from other game I played : )

Developer

Thanks! I'm glad you didn't struggle a lot playing it

Really cool art and an interesting game idea!  It would be helpful to have more explanation on how to play and what some of the terms like "Ace of Stars" mean, but I was able to figure out enough to have fun.

Thanks for the feedback 😄

Unfortunately couldn't figure out how to play (i promise i tried and read the description). I'm not really into card games, but i managed to figure out Balatro :). A tutorial would go a long a way in a game like that, even a simple one. But still, good job, i can tell the polish is there and art style is very cool, those little dudes on the table especially.

Developer

Sorry to hear that! We will add a tutorial post-jam so stay tuned 👀

And thanks for the feedback!

Was a little confused with how the gameplay worked but I think I ended up getting the hang of it. I feel like a tutorial and a bit more polish could have helped a lot here, I also personally found the delay between when the AI does their move a bit too long. However other than that, I think this is a very creative idea and I feel like the core gameplay was executed very well, also really enjoyed the artstyle and atmospheric sound.

Thanks for the feedback! The web player AI works a little slow, but the windows version is perfect

I want to try it but I didn't understand. I cound't play any hand, can you explain me a little more ? I want to try it and rate it :)

Thanks and have a good jam !

Developer

Are you playing the web version? It's a bit laggy i recommend playing the windows version

As for how to play we added how it works in the description of the game!

Let me know if that works or if you have more questions ☺️

Nice art.

This is my first game jam. It would be cool if you rated and commented. :D /jam/brackeys-14/rate/3851809

Art and concept is amazing, gameplay is a little confusing - but overall pretty solid :)

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! We will do a tutorial after-jam

I like the character art, but without a tutorial I don't really understand the gameplay.

Thanks for the feedback! We will do a tutorial, as for now we will add the controls and a little explaining in the description of the game.
