This was a nice game and a pretty fun concept. I found myself playing it for a while. There were some issues though

  • The Next Life audio was too loud
  • After putting dice in the card that takes three six die, when I pressed next life new die were generated but were stuck to the side of the card and I couldnt use them
  • At the final card where I needed 100, the die stopped appearing

With those bugs fixed, I think it can make a pretty good game with some brainstorming elements

Developer

Hey about the dice not appearing, did you still hear the sound effect of the die when it happened?

Submitted(+1)

Nice game, very calm music and good sound effects. Took a little time for me to understand. The font is a bit hard to read. I often dragged the scene instead of the die and I at some point dice stopped appearing (same issue as Static Leap Studios). But cool nevertheless!

Developer

Hey could you tell me what happened before the dice stopped appearing? Looks like this is a rare issue and am trying to pinpoint it.

Submitted

Not really sure, sorry. I just played the game and at one point it stopped giving dice. I could only click the next button...

Developer

Did you hear the dice sound even when it was not giving you dice?

Very cool game!

The only bug I got was when it was adding thirst cards every turn ( I forget what stage that was, but I needed 100 in one turn to progress ), the dice stopped showing up at all, so I lost.

The -life sound effect was a bit loud too.

Excellent work, I hope you continue this project!

it was right after filling the card that needed 3 6's, or when I ended that turn where I completed that one I believe

Really cool concept and very well done strategy game. I didn't feel stuck nor did the game feel unbalance. Very unique storytelling and was a lot of fun to go through!

I really loved the game and it's a very interesting concept! Although trying to get some objectives felt like an endless grind of completing my thirst cards and using the rest of the dice to summon more temporary ones, I feel like it's my own fault for not understanding what the game wanted me to do. Overall, a 10/10 experience and an extremely fun game, even with me being that dumb! :)

Developer(+1)

Yeah there is grind but there is a way to not grind as much as it seems. Like a strategy that I intended that I think not many people picked up on was you are not required to fill the thirst cards every turn you will only lose life If you don't fill them. So you can either gather a bunch of life at the start and focus completely on getting more temp dice or only fill half of them to not lose any life that turn.

Yeah that makes a lot of sense. I guess I got really tunnel visioned during my playthrough, so I'll probably revisit your game with this in mind in the future!

Really interesting Idea. The game mechanic was actually pretty unique and made you think and plan a lot. Well done!

Very Cool

Very enjoyable entry! I especially liked the storytelling through game mechanics, it was implemented in a very clever way. Everything was very solid, great work!

This is my kind of game!! It got really hard when i had to do the 100 with 5 thrist, really hard to manage which is the fun of it. Loved this game, well done!

This is a great game with, it could be released as a tabletop game too. Good stuff, keep it up!  👍

Chill and cozy vibe, almost reminds me of the Fallen London vibe with the sense of mysticism.
Though thanks to my bad eyes the middle part I mistook 30 for 50 so I grinded quite bit so near the end I just one shot the final challenge.
Could be neat to have more type of dices, or different tasks for flavors, but game jam is pretty short so I think this is pretty neat already.

Developer(+1)

Yeah the 3 does kinda look like a 5 XD. I had other stuff planned out, but given the time I opted to just focus on one simple flow for now.

Really unique idea, loved it! The art is basic but does what it needs to. Only point of feedback I'd give is just some general polish, QOL improvements, and a bit of a better explanation for how temporary die work and how to make them permanent. Other than that, I really enjoyed this game, very creative and some great music/SFX as well! Great job!

Very interesting game design and cool af concept, loved the unique approach. So simple yet so fun.

After a while it becomes a farming simulator and it gives an instant win haha >.<

Definitely could use some QoL when it comes to farming thralls and drag and drops.

We "pre-counted" the dices and hit a hundred before ascension even came out lmao.

Wonderful game, this would do well in steam stores if there's more future development.

Developer

I'm glad you enjoyed it!

Cool interpretation of the theme and loved the vampiric narrative, as well as performing the narration through cards! The gameplay was really fun and I thought it was well-implemented as there was quite a variety of cards and effects, I hope you can further expand this idea with more card effects and perhaps different adversities. The music selection was great as it complements the mysterious setting really well. Overall, great job!

Some small hiccups that I think could have a quick fix:
1. Fixing the ending screen. It gave an error when the ritual was completed.
2. Prevent the background from being movable.
3. Have a way to drag multiple die into a single card. It was a little tedious having to drag the die one after the other.

Developer

1. Already done. Just wasn't able to post the updated version unfortunately.
2. I added it so users could easily zoom in and out and move around if they couldn't see the text on the card. But defiantly will look into how to improve it.
3. Will defiantly work on this if I continue development.

Not a bad concept, but… How can I complete the card with 30 points? I have five dice. The probability, on average, is once every 7,776 years. Hmm…

Developer

Hey you get more dice if you add dice to your thrall card :D.

Submitted

The Blood Ritual card can receive only one die per turn

I think there's something very cool to explore about mixing dice and incremental games. I think this games great use of them. In particular, I love how well the setting translates into the mechanics of the game. I enjoyed my time with it. Nice work!

This is a fantastic concept! I'm gonna have to play it again to win. I rushed too fast into the 100+ card (btw it's spelled "Grueling", not "Grooling"). Looking at other comments, I learned how to fix cracked dice... it'd be nice to have a better way to manage that.

Really love this game though, the music and visuals are a perfect fit.

Great concept and great execution! Simple mechanics, but I got really invested in the game. I ended up losing at the final part where you need 100+ because I took too long to realize I had to use the cracked dice to turn it permanent, I kept using a normal dice there and nothing happened. Really fun, good job

Really fun game i feel like it fit the theme i did somehow find a way to get immortality i believe but unfortunately the game crashed (did not effect rating)  i had so many thirst cards and so many rows of dice lol great work tho

This game is fantastic! The core loop and concept work extremely well. It reminded me of elements from several games I love; the dice were reminiscent of Citizen Sleeper, the cards reminded me of Stack Lands.

I think this game explores the jam theme really uniquely! The gameplay had me hooked as I kept pushing towards the next goal. Once I saw the path forward (making minions and converting them to loyal followers), the gameplay started feeling a little grindy, with some additional cards/methods to grow my dice power, the game would really shine.

I had a heartbreaking moment where I risked not counting all my dice and got it down to 3. Amazing work!

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you enjoyed it! I had planned some more cards and different paths you could take to reach immortality, but I couldn't find the time to both implement them and keep everything balanced. So I opted to just keep just 1 path and balance everything around it.
