Nice Game bro! Cool idea and graphics :3

Graphics look great, and the concept is cool.

Looking forward to the control change. Might I suggest Q / E / R for swapping hunters? Edit: or Space?

Developer

thank you so much! All of these keys sound good, perhaps can have more than one, appreciate the feedback. It’s funny cause at the time I was so focused on sticking to my original plan that I didn’t stop to think if the keys could be improved :) all good learning :) thanks again

Nice concept. It’s held back by the controls. I wish it was easier to switch the two characters. Nonetheless, cool interpretation of the theme. Good job!

Thanks for trying the game - agreed on your feedback and others, appreciated and will patch in post-jam! thanks again

I really like the concept of this--the two hunters working together but you can only control one a time.

The control scheme is quite weird with `[]` being the swap, given at least on a standard QWERTY keyboard they very far apart from WASD (and I don't use QWERTY either). I ended up also I think getting lost in a see of green with no beasts to hit. Not sure what happened there, or if there's no border bounds, but green shapes ended up covering parts of the UI. Not sure where Maverick's hitbox's swing is either.

Thanks for making the game!

Thank you for trying the game - feedback taken and agreed, I ran out of time for the boundaries but will likely patch this in after the jam along with the controls. Appreciate the feedback. Thanks again

The concept with 2 hunters is really cool

thank you for playing! appreciate

Fun game. Love the concept of dual hunting. The controls did feel a bit awkward having to move each one individually being able to party up, move, then hunt would be nice.

Thanks for trying the game - feedback taken, will patch after the jam to make the switching use a more natural control! I was thinking perhaps a gamepad could work well. thanks again

The concept for this is really good; I like the idea of switching between two skillsets ala Lost Vikings in a more action-based game. The risk/reward of stunning multiple enemies before switching is pretty cool.

My biggest gripe is the control scheme. Why is the switching button not reachable with either of the two hands I'm using to play? It feels like I need an extra arm. If I could e.g. right-click to switch, the interplay between the two characters would feel a lot more fluid.

Also, the moment speed seems a tad too fast for how zoomed-in the camera is. It's helpful for getting Maverick to the location when he's far away, so maybe just zooming out somewhat would be good.

It seems I sometimes took damage inadvertently (and initially, without realising) when I accidentally touched the stunned animal before hitting it (which happens pretty easily because of the movement speed). Maybe Maverick needs a bigger swing? But there should probably be some more obvious feedback that damage has happened regardless.

Thanks for trying the game! I'm used to similar controls from some other games I've played but I agree and inline with previous feedback, planning a small patch for the controls. The damage is intentional, there should be some skill to it and the beasts will attempt to charge the closest hunter if you dart them but do not club them - perhaps I can improve the signaling of this with sfx and animations. Thanks again

I love the idea of a two person hunting team, you could definitely continue fleshing out this idea into something more!
Definitely recommend rebinding the swap key to SPACE or Right Click, as having to move between either WASD or Mouse and "[ ]", this will make the game MUCH more intuitive! Plus, you only need one button,

Also: please give Blaze a bit more range to his punches, and prevent sedated animals from injuring him! <3

Developer

Thank you for playing! Yes I agree - I'll likely patch in this feedback after the jam closes. Appreciate you checking it out and feeding back! The range of punches is actually quite large (but the animation doesn't reflect this) due to last minute tuning :) I'll update this too. thanks again

Nice work! Creative use of the limitation, and I enjoyed getting the 1-2 punch on the beasts a lot. The control scheme threw me off slightly... since we have to do it so much having the switch hunters button reachable from the movement keys would make everything feel a lot more fluid to me. But other than that, fun game!

Developer

Thank you for playing! It seems obvious now but my original plan was to have multiple hunters (like over 3) and I have seen these controls used in the past - I agree, this can be improved. Feedback taken, I'll likely patch after the jam closes. Thanks again
