Special for this jam I've worked on the text, polished some art, made the transitions more smooze and made a big work with audio! Overall the project now is a fully 1.1 version, which is much better than 1.0!

Hi Alex!
Sorry for the delayed feedback, things get hectic for me over here.
I for one loved the game, as I am someone who has experienced moving around quite a bit and had longed for "home". Funny thing is, once I became a little accustomed to my newer environment I found that I loved both places and didn't really feel like either place was home anymore as I could appreciate and love something from both. Anyway onward to the feedback! But quick note, I still haven't played toward the other endings aside from the Lemeria one.

I felt emotionally attached to this story and loved it, I hope after some editing and taking account all the feedback, you would release this to the greater audience of steam and continue to share your story.
Thank you for your time and sharing your story!

I played this game on stream: https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2565553540?t=00h17m45s
The story was interesting.. I didn't expect the ending.. it was a little more horror than I'd thought, but nothing too scary luckily :)
I don't know if the options in the game would have changed the story much, but I did enjoy going through the whole story and learning about why the radio had that channel etc.
Overall, it was a fun experience!
Thank you for streaming my game!
I'm glad you found it interesting!
Well, where do I begin? Perhaps I shall start on a warm, sunny day in Japan, where the cherry trees are blooming and the air smells *lovely*
The graphics, the storytelling, the connection to real life events, the music/sound fx, all excellent! I took QUIIIIIIIIITE longer than the anticipated hour, but there was a lot of side commentary. I can partially relate to what the character is referring to--just moving from one state to another in the USA can be such a shock. The way one feels out of place when they discover a new place, the pangs of homesickness.
I had a feeling the story was going to go the way it did. I made sure to save/ quicksave right before the Big Decision and I'm glad I did. Got to see both ending paths, and WHOOOAAAAA. Well done. Also, the way you tied in the title to the game. Brilliant!
An issue I had was when going to fullscreen mode, on my primary screen the scenes changed, but my mouse disappeared. On the stream, it was stuck on the "preferences" menu. Windowed mode worked perfectly fine. This issue occurs in the first 10 minutes.
Overall, an absolutely beautiful story, well written, emotional. I hope lots of people get to experience this!
You can watch the whole VOD here. Starts at 1:21:50

Thank you for your stream! I watched all 3 hours of the game and it was really exciting! I like that you make many related comments — it makes the stream vivid and personal! So far, your stream has the most comments, and I really like that!
I’m glad you liked the story and found it emotional. It’s really important for me to share my feelings and experiences.
Also, thank you for the kind words about the sound — it really warmed my heart as a musician!
About the fullscreen mode — hmm, maybe you have an unusual screen resolution? Like extra wide or something? I’ll check that out, thank you for noticing!
I’m also glad you liked the writing, considering English is not my first language. I was a bit worried that the text might sound “non-native” and make it worse, but I’m glad I managed to avoid that feeling.
Overall, many thanks for your stream, comments, and time! And thank you for giving my game so much screen time — I really appreciate it!
Have a nice jam! I’m going to check out your game as well
My monitors both have 2560x1440 resolution. I was messing around in OBS settings just a bit ago and still no success. 🤷‍♂️
Glad you enjoyed the stream and the commentary! It was an enjoyable story!🥰
Ended up adding this game last minute & I'm so glad I did. The storytelling was breathtaking & while I'm not someone who has ever dealt with being displaced, the story resonated with me as someone who has previously struggled with depression & isolation.
The writing felt very natural and I loved how the text was broken up within the text boxes to emphasize sentences & phrases. The sound design was AMAZING & definitely carried the atmosphere. I kind of wish there were more visual aesthetics to match it: I remember specifically wishing the Protag HAD turned on the lights during the storm, for example, so that we could SEE them shut off.
Regardless, this felt like a very complete entry to me. I loved just experiencing the story, which isn't always the case with Visual Novels!
P.S. Does the Stranger come back? I'm used to un-important characters having their eyes blacked out/obscure faces & so, I wasn't sure if we would see them again (maybe on another route?)
For my initial reaction on the game, you can find my VOD here (timestamps available):
Thank you for the game!Thank you so much for streaming my game and for sharing my story!
I watched the whole playthrough and it was super nice! You created such a great atmosphere on the stream, and your voiceover was smooth and emotional. Through the stream, I relived this story one more time, and your interpretation gave it even more layers!
Also, thank you so much for your comments and suggestions, both throughout the story and at the end of the stream! They will really help me make the game better. The note about the light during the storm was a very good observation, as well as your thoughts on the art details (e.g. Alma’s eyes), which add to the feeling that “something is not quite right.”
The idea of making Alma’s side story is a really good one, thank you! I had thought about it before but wasn’t sure if it would fit. Now I feel inspired to make it!
I’m also glad you found the sound design and music good. That’s important to me as a musician as well.
Additionally, thank you for noticing some of the small grammar mistakes. English is not my first language, and the text really does need some proofreading — that’s true :)
About the stranger lady — I hadn’t planned to bring her back, but now I’m thinking about it :D
Also, I’d really appreciate it if you could copy-paste your review on the itch.io page itself, so it can stay there even after the jam. It would also be nice for others to find your content on the page and watch your interpretation of this story — though of course it’s entirely up to you and your wish.
Overall, thank you so much once again! Your stream really warmed my heart and brought me a lot of emotions!
Wish you good jamming!
For English not being your first language, the writing was PHENOMENAL! The amount of emotion you were able to evoke and the parallels you drew & came back to are something to be admired. I truly look forward to an update on this & more of your games!
The game flowed well and was interesting. It was at the end of my stream so I was already a bit tired voice wise, but I was still able to read it out without much issue, which in general means I think it reads well. If something is super wordy, or just awkward to read that will no doubt come out when I'm reading it, but I just had fun with it.
I also knew that I was rushing down a bad path, but I couldn't resist. I didn't have a lot of time to check out multiple routes, but I def had fun going down the route I did. You did really well with this, and thank you for sharing your story.
I watched the whole VOD, and thank you so much for giving the game a try! Thank you for the feedback as well, I'm glad you found my story interesting, it really motivates me to continue creating!
Wish you a good jam!
I really enjoyed this story! It really felt like you poured your heart out into this one, and it makes me want to reach out and hug you until the world is okay again.
The pacing of the story felt just right, if anything a tad slow. I would probably like to see just a few more tie-ins, callbacks, or payoffs to offset the inner head thoughts. I do like the way the text is broken up by interaction; this works very well as a story device.
I absolutely love the sound design. Knowing when to play music, to play a sound effect, and when to pull it all back to silence is all expertly done, great job!
A few other small critiques:
The VOD is linked below, it will be available for 60 days. If it's needed for longer, please reach out and a highlight can be created.

I'll admit most of the VOD is just me struggling to turn it into an audio book, so if you want to skip to my post play ramblings / summary:

Hi!
Thank you so much for giving my story a chance and playing through the whole game! I watched the entire stream, and I can honestly say that in your interpretation the story gained new layers and meanings.
It means a lot to me that you enjoyed it and found it personal and emotional. This story is very important to me, since much of it was inspired by my real experience as a Ukrainian refugee after the war began.
Also, thank you for your suggestions on improvements! I completely agree — while watching the stream I noticed that the pacing is a bit slow, and it would be good to balance the inner monologues with more external events.
As for proofreading — thank you for pointing that out! English isn’t my native language, and the text definitely needs some polishing. And I really liked your idea about adding sound feedback to the sliders in the menu!
Also, a small tip if you play other Ren’Py games: the engine allows you to skip already read parts of the text. You just need to press the Skip button at the bottom of the text box. The skip will automatically stop at choices and at moments you haven’t read yet!
I’m truly grateful for your stream! It means a lot to me — both as a developer, and simply as a person who wanted to share his story. I wish you good luck and an enjoyable jam!
