This was a fantastic little experience. The way you’ve tied the Expansion theme into a survival puzzle is brilliant, as every move feels weighted with consequence.
Expanding your camp out into the frozen wasteland to scavenge supplies is tense but also very rewarding once you manage to plan ahead and keep your group going.
The presentation is spot on as well. The stark limited palette and sparse snow effects nail the feeling of isolation, while the clean grid UI keeps everything easy to read without breaking immersion. I particularly liked how the different tiles each had their own character, from forests to hermits, adding flavour to the cold world.
The audio deserves a nod too. That chilly, glassy atmosphere is subtle but powerful. The way the music and effects combine makes the quiet stretches feel almost eerie. I’ve wrestled with atmosphere in my own projects before, so I can really appreciate the craft in how well it has been pulled together here.
Thank you so much for this, such Incredibly kind and thought out and thought out feedback.
Seriously, I needed to see this today. Thank you.
Nice puzzle game and great way to incorporate the theme.
Don't recall playing one like this before.
The graphics and music are great and the sound effects fit right in.
Great submission
wow what an incredible little puzzle game!! thoroughly captures the theme of expansion in a fun and creative way. very satisfying and well designed puzzles, immersive and ambient audio, and just the right length. excellent work!!!
Really nice game, one of my favorites so far ! Levels are well designed, and some really good level design ideas !
Thanks for trying it out! Glad to hear you liked it!
Loved the atmosphere of this game with the chilling descriptions of each tile. Really nice work with the visuals and audio as well!
Nice one, thanks! Aye my pal knocked it out of the park considering I asked him last minute and with little direction other than "bleak and this is what the tiles are/do"
i liked that more than I thought I would initially! It forces you to make some basic decision in the later levels and to think for a bit. It isn't something complex or sth I'd play for hours on end , but for a Jam Game it kept me engaged until the end. Also visually and graphically, you nailed the snowy winter vibe I think you were aiming for.
If you want to expand it to something greater there must be some more complex systems, but for what it is, its great!
Good Job :)
Nice one, glad you enjoyed it in the end!
Realistically being a jam game I knew I was only going to grab the average persons attention for maybe 5 minutes max, so i tried to keep it fairly easy/uncomplicated, especially in the beginning.
thanks for the feedback and for trying it out.
Really easy to pick up. The gradual introduction of new mechanics / tile types was really well handled too
This is sooo polished :o Everything is so clean: graphics, audio, systems, controls... Just wow.
The game might have been a little easy for me but really this jam game is pretty much perfect.
Loved it.
nice "coldy / glassy" music, great execution to make it feel actually "wintery".
I think it's really hard for me to make puzzle games that actually make sense, and I think this one does make sense, so congratulations, I have much respect for that.
Also I like the simplicity of the art. really few colors and small drawings very well executed. less is more, congrats!
said this I would suggest, I bit more of a "difficulty curve", I explain: I think you have cool concepts like the hermit thing or the merchant, and the this -1 food +2wood, +3turns, it's really clever truly, but in my totally subjective thing opinion this elements could have been introduced way earlier.
appart from this I think it's a very polished and complete game. congrats!
This was a really creative entry imo. I loved how expanding without purpose was punished in this game, it always made me think of an end goal. I loved the pixel art and music too; they worked incredibly well together to bring in the atmosphere you were looking for. One of the best games in the jam for sure, congrats dude!
Thank you! Very kind feedback, it's much appreciated.
This was a very solid and well executed game. I really enjoyed the puzzles and the game felt like it had just enough complexity while also being very direct and straightforward. The art and UI are very very well done, great job!

Hey! Thanks for trying it out and streaming it! I juuuust managed to catch it live from where you were struggling with the hermit shack :D I completely agree with your point on it also.
Initially i was hoping to have them looking a bit more unique/obvious from one another, i went back and forth a lot on the visuals of the grid itself and the optics of tiles that are available or not.. I did not nail it at all imo. The shack itself was the last tile i did the art for and i think i was pretty fed up of looking at them by then.
I was hoping that the first map the shack shows up on would be obvious enough itself, but the levels later on can be a bit crowded and they do blend in with everything a bit too much.
Either way! Thanks for trying it out, was great to hear someones thoughts as they played along. much appreciated.
Another ayyyspoon banger, this was genuinely so well polished, the vibes were great and the gameplay itself was very engaging. I suck at puzzle games but despite that, you still managed to have me locked in and focused the entire time. Really good submission honestly
Super polished game! The visual style looks so good and lent itself to a really strong immersion. I was a little confused at first how to begin, but the UX helps teach what is going on really well. Love all the touches to make it easy to restart a level, or play any if you get stuck. Really nice work!
Thanks for trying it out, i'm glad you enjoyed it!
The UX, especially concering the grid/tiles itself, was a real sticking point for me. I found it fairly difficult to build something that wasn't too distracting but also stood out from the limited palette.
Personally i don't think i nailed it in the end. I'd like to have made the tiles you could click way more obvious, but was a bit stumped/lacking for time. I still think it turned out okay enough for a jam in the end though!
Really enjoyed the pacing, super intuitive and didn't feel overwhelmed as new concepts surfaced in the levels. Being able to teleport to the hermit shack is a great idea, lends itself well to distinct paths and careful planning.
Loved the fine-grained details like the footprints in the snow too, and the music + SFX + tooltip dialogue (excellent job Dave) definitely got me immersed.
Had a lot of fun, great job!
Thanks for trying it out! I passed your "Excellent job Dave" along to Dave!
This is a lovely puzzle game with a lot of charm - I really liked the animated chimney smoke and falling snow. You knocked it out of the park thematically. I beat the entire game and my only feedback is to make more puzzles! I would have loved a huge map where it's not as straightforward which resources you should path towards. Great entry!
Yesss! Glad you liked it!
Big map is a great idea! I hadn't really thought about camera controls and making much larger spaces.
I'd love to have made more maps, but i reeeeally underestimated how tough it was to actually build them, haha
Thanks so much for trying it out!
This is a really good game! I love the art, and the audio is really on point. Although I think there could be a slightly higher curve of learning (for the most part, I just natively solved the puzzles without a lot of thinking), the levels are really well made, and for the constraints of a jam, this is awesome.
Congrats!
Nice one! Glad you liked it and i appreciate the kind feedback!
Yeah, i agree with the difficulty. I wasn't sure wether it was just because i knew the correct pathways or not, but they are fairly simple puzzles. I think i'd like to try some tougher ones with a few new ideas peppered in too.
Thanks!
Wow this is so good! I really admire how you came up with a simple mechanic, then kept answering the question "what next?" by layering in more and more complex mechanics & tradeoffs. What was your process like for coming up with the puzzles and how to sequence everything? You def achieved the puzzle game goal of making me feel alternately super dumb and then like a genius lol. Also art and mood is amazing, love the bleak spooky vibes. Awesome work!
Thanks! Really glad you enjoyed it and the pacing/introduction of the mechanics!
When it came to building the puzzles, i had an idea early on of the order that i wanted to introduce them in and to vaguely follow that Nintendo rules of 3 design (even though i didn't do 3 variations of each mechanic later on), then finally do a few "harder" levels that incorporated all the mechanics together (i absolutely overcomplicated level 14... you can just like, move south and finish it ez and i didnt even realise!
Actually building the levels? i honestly just threw tiles down, gave myself a vague turn limit supply limit and kept trying to hit it and moving stuff around. I'm terrible at these types of games normally, so it took aaaaages towards the end!
A very nice game indeed, it has a very nice progression and it actually gave me a chill down my spine for being stuck in the cold :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!

Really nice puzzle concept. Good balance of simplicity and challenge to keep me engaged. Loved the sound design, art and dialog - really sold the frozen wastes vibe. Great job!
Thanks for trying it out and leaving feedback, much appreciated!
