Wow, this is one of the most polished games I’ve seen so far! I’m truly impressed that you managed to add so many mechanics, such solid graphics, and even a tutorial in such a short time. From my point of view, you’ve created a really cool game with the potential to be released on Steam!

Developer

Hey, thank you. I have been developing all week, and depending on the feedback I get I might publish it on Steam. I'm really excited to release the big update.

Submitted

Woww this game feels super polished, really impressive how much you were able to get done in the jam period! The gameplay also impressed me because tbh on the first play I didn't necessarily get it and couldn't get synergies working but something kept me wanting to try again and eventually I felt won over. I wonder if developing the tutorial a bit further and giving more time between the info cards showing up or having them be action triggered would help onboard people who onto the game quicker? I saw that you're continuing work on this and adding some exciting sounding features so looking forward to seeing how this develops if u post it in the discord! Amazing work!

Developer

Thank you for the feedback, it is worth really much. In the update which I will be publishing in a few hours I tried to improve those things you mentioned. Maybe you want to take a look. Thanks for playing.

Wow! The game looks amazing, you really polished the final effect

I like game design of puzzle game with economy.

Game art with vain and music make cool "creepy" atmosphere, would love more about game lore.

Great job and congratulations on your submission!

Wow, this game is awesome! I loved playing Carcassonne and this really brought me back. The pixel art looks amazing and the music is on-point as well. I wish that I could restart from my current stage so I didn't lose all my progress since sometimes I would forget to disable the speed up mode. Great entry!

Developer

Thank you very much. This is included in the huge update I have been working on all week, which I will be releasing on Sunday!

Another favorite to the list! This is so extremely well-polished that I can’t believe it’s a game jam game. A solid mix of Carcassonne, Dorfromantic, and Eldritch Horror. The challenge is well-tuned, the sound effects super satisfying, and it was amazing watching the operations grow.

Brilliant!

Developer

Thank you very much for the compliments, it means really much to me.

Man, This is really cool, but it was a little too esoteric/detatched from something recognisable for me personally, so i don't think i clicked with the gameplay itself as much as i had hoped to.

I respect it a lot, there is an insane amount of polish and work here and a game that others seem to be really enjoying. I think my famous failures at planning ahead in games like these and my irrational need to power through text quite quickly almost definetly derailed me, so i can't blame you for it.

You've done a hell of a job. Props to you.

Hey! Maybe this game is not for everyone, we are all different from each other. You could try out the sandbox mode if you are more the builder type. Thank you for the kind words, I will keep developing it even further :)

Slam dunk jam entry. I only wish it was longer.

Developer

Thank you! More is definitely coming after the jam.

I'm addicted to this game now ! I hope you develop it even further cos I'd be buying it ! I love the music, it reminds me of civs and the tiles and game design is very nicely done ! I do  feel a bit more info about tiles would be good, just there are a few i was confused about like the portal things and the ones that stop flow of certain things? not sure when to use them, but maybe that's part of the game to figure it out! I like that the menus give you tips as well, tutorials can be boring sometimes and stop me from playing but yours was really understandable and delivered at a good pace. Really impressed with what you've achieved in the time frame, do you plan on taking the game further ? :)

also i think you could consider putting donate button maybe cos its so fun i think people would contribute.

Developer

Yes, I plan to take the game further. Currently I'm working on tile rotation to make the map feel less cluttered and give the player more strategic options. Glad you're feeling this way, this gives me confidence! Thank you!

Amazing ! I'm excited to see where you take it :)) I think some indicators could be helpful also, like showing when veins are connected correctly and flow.  (atm im unsure if i leave a vein unconnected if my resources will deplete out from it) thankyou for making the game! I'm really enjoying it! goodluck in your dev journey !

Developer

I'm a bit annoyed that I can't publish updates during the jam, haha. With tile rotation it is even more fun.

Submitted

aww no hahah! i am just about to play another round as well ! :')

I really enjoyed this game, finding spots to fit the tiles together was very satisfying, and I got really sucked into it. Not being able to rotate the tiles added a nice challenge. The UI and menus were very well polished, the scrolling background is a nice touch. The music nicely suited the vibe of the whole thing. I liked that when you click off the screen it auto pauses too. Having a tutorial was also nice. I wasn’t sure what the shuffle tiles button did at first, it might be good to have text when you hover over those, as appears when you hover over the main tiles. Sometimes the font was a bit hard to read too, for example on the tutorial page that talks about the green and red tiles, the word vervid(?) was hard to read. Fun game!

Developer

Thank you for the long feedback, glad you enjoyed it! A few things I already adressed but I can only publish the update after the jam! I'm hoping to create a long living game. :)

I'm absolutely in awe of how ONE PERSON was able to make this???!! This is an incredibly impressive game to make within the timeframe. I get a strong Balatro vibe from it, which I absolutely love. All aesthetics for this game are really well done, and putting everything together feels so satisfying! This is a wonderful game, and it's so inspiring for what I make for my next jam!

Developer

Balatro was a major influence for this game. I'm honored to be your inspiration. Glad you liked it!

I  can not believe what you were able to accomplish during this game jam. This game feels like a whole game. Its very clever and works and feels good to play. Also fantastic sound track.  5 stars!

Developer

Thank you. It means a lot to me, as I sat many many hours in front of my PC struggling. This is the price you have to pay to create a work of art. I remember your game, it was great as well.

Submitted(+1)

Damn that's pretty.

Getting it all to work is not, it feels like some resources don't really feel like flowing much.

Developer

Thank you! The game has a learning curve, you get better the more you play it. At the beginning it may feel a bit hard. All resources are implemented in the same way, they flow equally quickly. I hope you still had fun playing my game. :)

Submitted

It was so pretty, how could I not.

A really interesting and engaging take on the Carcasonne! Loving the vibes and gory atmosphere. The game feels also incredibly polished and detailed for a game jam! Loving the art and overall the game just feels brilliantly executed!

Developer

Thank you for the nice compliment. It means a lot to me.

Submitted(+1)

Audio feels like I'm being indoctrinated into something and I'm all for it. Most definitely the goriest game of Carcasonne I've ever played too. 10/10 would recommend to my surgeon friends.

Developer

I had to laugh hard on this comment. Thank you very much.

Submitted

You're very welcome, thanks for making it in the first place. We actually had the same tile based system idea, I think you've pulled it off better though.

Submitted(+1)

What an insanely polished game for a jam.  I'm stunned.  Took an idea and did it expertly.  I think the game would benefit from an expanded base resolution, but that's about it.  Fantastic job.

Developer

Wow, thank you for your comment. It means a lot to me, as I spent so many hours in front of my PC programming, doing pixel art and working on sound design.

Submitted

I have to say - i'm still floored how you made all of the content for this submission, 5 days into the jam.  I'm just curious if you reused some logic from a previous game to save time, or something like that.  Since the overall system implemented seems relatively complex.  If you could give feedback on the process of how you chose a mechanic and to build off it, as a fellow (partially solo) dev, I'd love to improve my process.

Developer

Basically I worked the most in the initial phase, about 9-10 hours every day to get a prototype running. A bit crazy, I know. I had the idea for longer and the theme fit perfectly. I also have a lot of experience working with music, art and programming which makes me work quite fast. I worked a lot with cellular automata and fluid dynamics at university, so I had that implemented quickly. Most time went into the art and programming. I also reused some general stuff like screen transition and animation code to save time. Mostly those optimizations and general good planning and organization got me that far. Get yourself an analog notebook and a pen, don't do it digitally!

Submitted

I use MIRO - virtual whiteboard, but the idea is good!  Thanks for following up.  I've got some stuff to think about before my next jam!

Submitted(+1)

such an impressive and in-depth game!! polish is immaculate and everything feels so good to do. i did find it pretty difficult but after a few attempts things started to click, and i really got into it. great work!!!

Developer(+1)

Thank you for your kind words. The game wouldn't have reached its current state without your gametesting and feedback. Thanks!

A very interesting take on Carcasonne! Feels very polished and incredibly well done!

Developer

Thank you very much!

Submitted(+1)

wow this is better than my submission by hundredfold! great job! i absolutely love the music and the artstyle and the gameplay was very fun too!

Developer(+1)

Thank you! It was lots of work doing the pixel art, music composition and game strategy design on my own, but I think it paid off. Don't talk yourself down - you also spent a lot of time and effort in your project, and this is something you can be proud of! We should celebrate every submission! :)

yea, I believe everyone put so much effort into their projects Leonhard Kohl-Lörting! and thank you for making this :3
