Always pigeons, always a funny game. I really enjoyed it! But I shouldn't have left 188 wingmen in a pizzeria at the same time XD

Developer

Ahaha thank you for trying the game! I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) I think the feds must have noticed something suspicious when 188 wingmen came storming out of a small pizzeria like a clown car! LMAO

Submitted(+2)

I like this, the progress scales very well so the flow is right.

Developer

Thank you!

Fun game, it feels very polished - and it the soundtrack fits well! I think it would've been nice if there was an explanation on the effects somewhere ingame. Imho it would also have been nice to choose which kind of building to unlock next instead of using different price categories. The idea of having increasing suspicion for one building was really nice, I think that was a good decision so people would not park wingman at a specific location. Maybe it might be a good idea to link it to the amount of assigned wingman as well, so you can have a bit control over how fast the increase is

Developer(+1)

Thank you for the feedback, I was originally wanting to get some sort of explanations in for the effects so there was less guessing on what they were doing but sadly I didn't get the abilities implemented until later into the deadline and had to focus on some other areas to get things up and running. However, if we do a post jam version, we will 100% be adding some descriptions in and also messing around with some stuff to smooth the gameplay and make things fit together more nicely so we'll take your feedback into consideration!!

Thanks for trying the game out <3

Really nice game, even if it was a little bit slow at first. Great job ! :)

Developer

Thank you!!

I hope everyone is doing well. Health comes first. I really enjoyed the concept and playing as far as I could. I'm not entirely sure what raises suspicion or how to lower it, but what was working was most enjoyable. Nicely done.

Developer

Thank you! I think we're all doing considerably better now after some rest LMAO, I know I do especially. The suspicion keeps climbing the longer you have wingmen assigned to a building, we wanted to make it so you had to manage your wingmen more and take them out of businesses to "lay low" and reduce suspicion :) I'm glad you enjoyed it though!!

Wow, I’m really impressed by the assets, music, and sound design. Sure, it could use a bit of balancing, but it feels like you know exactly what you’re doing—clicking, earning money, and buying property is super addictive. I even caught myself grinding to reach 200k for a new one and totally forgot to unassign my wingmen. Nice job!

Developer

I'm really glad you enjoyed it! I've got to give fragskye all of the credit for the audio, she got those in on a tight schedule towards the end and I genuinely think it made SUCH a difference in the game and I'm so glad we managed to get the sounds in. Thank you for your kind words <3

Great game, really loved everything about it.

I will certainly be keeping an eye on those pidgins  in future 😂😂😂👍👍👍

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much! LMAO I’m sure the pigeon mafia will be making another return in the near future

Submitted(+1)

Seriously, if you can’t impart your humour into a game and make it playable it says  a lot about you as a person. It’s a really good idea, build it out. 😊

Developer

Thank you again for your kind words <3

Really clean game! I managed to get 20 million dollars into debt at some point, I think I bought some upgrades too fast lol.

Developer

I swear we were sure we patched this because we were able to do this in the test build but somehow this miraculously came back LMAO thank you for giving the game a try though :)

Submitted(+2)

Great game! I amazed how you polished it!

I like the concept. This is kind of strategy game that has the style!

Would love to see more activity and of course some other gangsters!

Great job and congratulations on your submission!

Developer

Thank you so much for your kind words! I'm very happy with how this turned out, the team put their all into this in the final 24 hours and i'm glad it paid off LMAO

Hoping to get a post jam version out at some point once it's convenient for all of us :)

Submitted(+2)

Such a fun game. It seems I'm no use for the pigeon mafia though. Kept getting caught! Really good job!

Developer(+1)

Those pesky FBI sure can catch you fast if you’re not careful! Thank you for giving it a shot

Submitted(+2)

I really liked the overall concept of the game, at first it was a little bit slow but then it picked up the pace and I got more used to the actual game. And I can't lie, the game had me hooked for a really long time lol. Although I would add a screen to see what the abilities of the buildings did. I didn't really find one in game and it made me have to guess as to what the abilities acutally did. Some were obvious like the laundry machine one where it would lower your suspicion, and the crime rate one also from the pizzaria, but I had no clue what "The house always wins" does. Overall, very good jam submission, congrats guys!

Developer(+1)

I would’ve loved to have gotten in a menu that shows what the abilities did but I sadly got the abilities in last second sadly! That’s definitely something we’ll add in a post jam version if we proceed ;) also the house always wins has a 50/50 chance to add 5% of your total money or take it away :) wish I made it more impactful!

thanks so much for your feedback and for trying the game <3

Submitted(+2)

This is a really fun concept and I love the clicker/management sim combo! The art and the bird puns were great, and the gameplay was fun at its heart but I agree it could use a balancing pass - I had way too many wingmen just hanging around doing nothing because the cops were always breathing down my neck 😆. And "Al Pigeone" is just a 10/10 name lol

Developer

Thank you for giving our game a try! I think in a future post jam version we may work on, balancing is going to be a main priority of ours to make sure we give this game even more justice :) The art was thanks to my incredible teammates, they absolutely knocked it out of the park and helped me a lot with the gameplay side too!

I'm glad people love the bird puns, they were one of my favourite parts LMAO, thank you again for your feedback and trying the game <3

Submitted(+2)

Really interesting concept! I like the kind of auto-clicked-meets-management-sim vibe. Also loved the theme and would love to see more of Al Pigeone

Struggled a little with performance - not sure what was causing it but it was running at maybe 10fps!

Overall I had a great time with this and could easily see the concept growing into something amazing! Really well done!

Developer

I’m glad you enjoyed it! We wanted to have a more hands on approach to the auto clicker/incremental sort of game to give a sense that you’re actually running the pigeon mafia so I’m glad that was enjoyed!!

I’ll pass on what you said about performance to the team, I’ve had another person mention it so I think it’s worth looking into! Thanks for trying out our game <3

Developer

Curious about the performance - did you have hardware acceleration turned on in your browser, and do you have a dedicated graphics card? I dev on a mid-range gaming PC and had my eye on the visual profiler while I was working on the game's effects, but what you're describing is way worse than I'd expect (I get ~6.5ms @ 1440p on an RTX 3070). Any hints on what's going on would be extremely helpful. Thanks for playing regardless :)

Submitted

Here’s my setup:

  • Arc Browser (so Chromium under the hood)
  • Hardware acceleration enabled
  • MacBook Air M1 2020 running Sequoia 15.7, 16GB RAM
  • My monitor is 3440x1440 but I wasn’t running running it at fullscreen - the game window was roughly 1400x1400

How are you doing the swaying effects of the grass and the trees? That seems to be the bit that could be fairly expensive depending on the implementation

Let me know if you need any more info - happy to supply if I can!

Developer

Forgot to respond to this, sorry! The swaying is definitely the heaviest part, it's doing 3 vertices * 4 3D noise samples (base + detail, X and Z displacement) for every blade. I've used Godot's built-in noise textures in the past but they always had a considerable increase in load time so I was trying out the noise implementation here. It ran very poorly on my dad's Mac too, but his is absolutely ancient, so I was hoping it would be better on anything Apple silicon and later. Will definitely try and include quality settings in the future (and post-jam patch), and/or maybe just eat the file size cost of a baked texture.

Nice game, but i can't evade getting busted haha

Developer(+1)

It can be a bit difficult at times! A few of my friends had trouble during their first few attempts too but once you get a hang of things, you can start cooking :)

Submitted(+2)

You know i've been dying to see the next entry in the Pigeon Mafia extended cinematic universe!
Shame you ran into issues outside of the development, there is a good amount of work and polish to what you have here, would be great to see more if possible in the future.

Nice work as usual to all!

Developer(+1)

Haha glad to see you giving the 3rd instalment of the Pigeon Mafia game jam franchise a try! This time I got lucky to be surrounded by an incredible team who helped me bring the mafia to a whole new level :) Despite the issues we faced, I'm very proud of what we were able to make and I am forever grateful to my team for carrying me through to the finishing line!

Thanks for giving it a try <3 I think we will try and get a post jam update out at some point!

Submitted(+2)

This was hilarious from the first click! The writing had me grinning the whole way, and the menu flavour text on each location is honestly gold 👌. You’ve done a brilliant job making the whole map feel alive with just simple UI interactions and clever humour. Loved the little criminal bird portraits too.

The clean isometric style really sells the town layout. Nice restrained colour choices and sharp contrast between buildings and UI layers. Navigation also felt fluid, intuitive and satisfying to click through. I could absolutely see this turning into a full sim game with a few more features (and dev time to allow that of course!)

This really has character. Great work!

Developer(+1)

Thank you so much for your kind words! I couldn't imagine having a better team with me to help me expand the Pigeon Mafia universe than the one I got, I'm glad you enjoyed the writing and the silliness of our lil Pigeon game! <3

We're all very happy with how things turned out in the end, took a bit of crunch and some long hours in the end but that's just the joy of a game jam LMAO

Submitted(+2)

nice game! very enjoyable! also the title reminded me of doofenshmirtz so that's a +1

Developer(+1)

Doofenshmirtz is the GOAT, we had to get a reference in somehow

Submitted(+2)

Addiction of idle games is here ! It means you did right :)

The story is also nice and funny so good job to all of you

Developer

Glad to hear we touched that idle game itch like we intended, thank you for trying out the game!

Submitted(+2)

This was for now one of my favourite games of the Jam so far!

The Audio & Visuals all felt fitting and were just great. (Good Music Selection btw)

The Gameplay was very fun, but  for me there was some kind of depth missing to keep me going to the end, but the loop that was there was instantly understood, so you were instantly invested

Great Job! .)

Developer

Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you enjoyed it as much as you did!! The artists on the team absolutely killed it this jam so I'm glad to see their work being appreciated :)

superb!

Thank you!
