This game was honestly nothing short of phenomenal. The theme was portrayed really well in this entry, the graphics were amazing, and the music was absolutely divine. I was able to play through the whole thing and I really appreciated the end cutscene. The only issue I had was that the character would get a little stuck on door frames sometimes and that would get annoying sometimes. This might have been an issue since I was using the web version, but even then it wasn't anything major tbh. Very good game, deserves a 5/5 stars on pretty much every catergory ngl.
This was so cozy. I liked that it was almost escape-room-esque while simplified. I think the stylised look is fantastic too.
I used to be a professional escape room designer, so that makes sense!
Fantastic visuals! Great use of the palette. Well done!
Admittedly, I missed the early cozy magic gate and ended up spending way too much time shuffling candles one by one,
We knew it’d happen to someone, sorry it was you! Glad you like the visuals!
Hah! No worries. Happens when you decide to play some more game jam entries at 2am instead of sleeping XD
This game was absolutely gorgeous, the art was amazing, the music and audio fit the game perfectly too. As far as jams with the wild card, I think this is my favourite of the "cozy vibes" wildcard, you absolutely nailed the vibes. The movement was a little floaty and I got caught on the doors a bit but that didn't take away from how beautiful this game looked and felt. I also loved the expansion of the building tying in the theme, this submission was a genuine treat :)
I’m very pleased for you both
Incredible presentation, beautiful art, music, and cutscenes! Localization in a jam game??? Great work there. I kept getting stuck on walls though, which combined with the floaty movement made going back and forth through the house a bit difficult. Unstuck button appreciated :) cozy vibes nonetheless!
Very nice cozy game. Really like the music and pixelation/reduced color palette effect.
Good balance of collecting objects to make magic, was scared when I needed 99 Cozy magic.
Great submission especially for your first GWJ, keep them coming.
Lovely music, lovely vibes and nice puzzle-ish mechanics, I liked it a lot. I don't know how to tell my boss tomorrow I'm late beacause I gone to bed late because I needed to put candles and bottle inside a cointainer to get some magic to open hidden doors :'-)
✨magic✨
Absolutely incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed myself with this short lil' game.
Looks great in such an understated way, the backing soundtrack was beautiful and the story/gameplay was cozy and just long enough.
Seriously, great job to all involved. Enjoyed it a lot!
Edit: Big fan of the main menu and it's transition too!
Thanks @ayyspoon! I’m very proud of that transition, I think it explains the “plot” of the game so clearly and so efficiently, without a single word needing to be said!
@andreyslmv really knocked it out of the park with the music and sound design!
the Inscryption-like aesthetics always gets me in the mood for gaming. really loved the ambient. the baba yaga's hut setup is also a positive point.
I didn't get to the end because I was getting a bit dizzy, but that happens to me in some 1st person games, It seems i'm an old person already! hahah
congrats to the team!
Absolutely loved the visual direction on this one. The chunky pixel style with that gritty shading and subtle dithering feels so cohesive and striking. I also thought the cozy magic system was a really charming concept. Collecting materials and infusing them into the space created a really pleasant loop that fits the theme perfectly. The whole thing just radiates autumn warmth.
Woww this game is beautiful (the title screen and dithering and color palette!) and its so cool y'all recorded violin for the music. I unfortunately found myself getting motion sick after unlocking a few rooms but that's a me issue :( . Curious what inspired the magic types as they stood out as unique to me as well!
Very lovely.
Thanks for sharing the code on GitHub. I'm new to Godot and not yet ready to tackle 3D, but great to see such a fine example.
Loved this one. Amazing atmosphere, visuals, and music. I had issues knowing what to do at first but once I figured it out it was smooth sailing from there. Great work.
great game, great art and sound design
Love the art and sound design in this one! They both work together really well to create a cohesive and cozy atmosphere. I especially liked the dithering effect and the animation / transition effect when you opened new rooms.
I didn't have many issues playing, it became clear pretty quickly what my immediate goals were. The only obstacle I ran into is that the pentagrams could be difficult to notice from a distance before I started seeking them out.
It was really easy to get invested in the game world, and now I have so many questions about Mystic Maggie and her fancy house with legs.
The music and sound design were reaaaally good! I was baffled when I saw that part of the music has been recorded for the jam :o The graphics are also very cool!
I'd say the gameplay lacks a bit of variety or interactivity. Running around picking up items doesn't really do it for me even with such a nice ambiance :/
I still liked it since it's quite short! Well done :)
Gawd damn! the music really put the cozy into the game!
In general Art Direction, Music & VFX was pretty much perfect and it was really calming playing this!
Gameplay wise I found it a bit repetetive after a while, but this type of game, really isn't my cup of tea, so maybe I'm not feeling it because of that!
Also, pls just include maximizing the game, it felt a bit weird playing on such a small window.
Great Job :)
Such a great take on the theme of expansion. Very cute and very clever game. Well done!
Beautiful game all around. Not much else to say. Visual and sound - 10/10.
Not fan of 1:1 resolution, but I can see it been nostalgic to some. For me - questionable at first, but probably results in better overall vibe of game.
Controls are great, got stuck once (when spawning portal in bottles room), but was lucky to check controls on itch page before starting game :D
Gameplay is nice and relaxing, while you know what you doing. Good balance between not forcing player to run around for too long and not making it too easy.
I didn’t notice one of portals and was VERY confused about why you want me to craft 99 of thing that crafts by 2 at time :D Took me shamefully long to find portal that I missed. Got to end as intended after that.
But, that got me thinking. What if I did craft that thing 50 times to get portal open? :D Will I get rewarded for perseverance or shamed for missing something obvious? I tested it and sadly, none of those. Oh, well, I wouldn’t expect anyone to run for 30 minutes just to test it fair way. At least I hope noone would xD
Good game, was fun :)
