I wouldn’t play this unless there is a gun to my head
Why is the movement speed so slow?
The main character moves so slowly, that I lost interest immediately.
It shouldn't take more than 30 seconds to walk up to the first NPC.
Game is extremely short already, and also didn't really have time to fix the smaller stuff, I agree it's kinda slow but too late to fix it now. Thanks for playing
I appreciate the subpixel stuff going on in the sprites at least.
Fair enough, thanks for playing!
Couldn't make it far I'm stuck at the bartender for some reason. But good job regardless.
For that part you need to go right up at the counter and then click on the bartender. I should’ve made it more clear in the gameplay but thanks for playing!
No I had the conversation with him but the conversation wouldn't close.
You had to press ESC to leave the conversation.
Alright I gave it another go. Great job on the dialogue part. Also the 3d models you made are awesome. For a first game it's not bad. The main issue, besides the clunky movement, is the consistency of inputs. You have: arrows to move, Clicking to start and progressing conversation, space to speed up dialogue, esc to exit conversation and scroll to select options. That's too much! Again, for a first game you've done a great job and I hope to see you improve.
That's awesome to hear, and yeah I completely agree with everything. Out of the 4 days we had, only 1.5 days were actually spent coding, since University started for me, and also it being the first game we ever made. Sounds like excuses but yeah. Would've loved to polish the game further, I have plenty of ideas on how I'd improve it. Thanks again for playing!
Pretty interesting writing overall. Didn't get too far into the game but it was ok from what I have been able to read. Characters have some nice personalities to them.
On the gameplay side, it's just too slow and clunky. You have to press all kind of different buttons just to finish a dialogue. Walking is way too slow for just a tiny map. Visuals don't feel coherent at all, feels like a mismatched of different assets strewn together.
Overall ok game, but you would need to iron out the kinks to make it fun.
Completely agree with everything you said, if we had more time we would've fixed the issues, but unfortunately university got in the way of fixing the game 100%. Thanks for playing!
too much dialogue
thanks for playing, the dialogue is intended since it's more of a visual novel style game.
