How does your game fit the theme?
*IMPORTANT* Refresh the website after losing, lose screen does not work properly :(
*2ND IMPORTANT* So... it appears that pressing space also presses the return to main menu screen button for some reason, which is a bug :/ So try not to press space :/

The player controls their tribe (their pals) to fight for them.

Pals can be directed to either follow the player or to directly attack enemies. (Press E to toggle).

Each unique monkey has different Follow and Attack states.

Did your team create the vast majority of the art during the 4 days?

I really like the vibe of this game, the paper mario style cutouts were cute and on point!
My only real criticism is the music is very repetitive,  it could've used some variety than a basic drum beat to match the ongoing action.

Developer

Thank! I ran out of time on the music :/

Fun game! Cute art style.

I liked seeing the variety of different characters that join your tribe.

Developer

Thank you!

This Game was incredible, if  i had something bad to say I would be that the small space makes it pretty chaotic in the later waves but still, this was an incredible game, top 5 contender easily

Developer

Thanks!

space worked for me, really loved the visuals :)

Developer

Oh, that's good! For some reason, it breaks the game when I tested it after the Jam submission time ended :/

hello! wow two siblings as a weekend project still with school to attend to, it's really cool that you put something together for this! all considered it's impressive how many different monkeys with distinct abilities there are. i was overwhelmed by their descriptions at first, coupled with the moving background is too much i think, but i shouldn't have been so worried. game feels rather chill, i don't think i'm good but i was thinking it could do with some more challenge. i thought this and then a wave or two later i died so. after playing for a little longer i do feel like, more of the challenge comes from trying not to walk right into an enemy spawning but, it's not like i got that far, ended on wave 11. the movement of the pals swaying as they walked with you was rather charming, they're like waddling.... sound effects sounded quite satisfying for how minimal they seemed. tonally it feels like it could be more, something? feels a bit too relaxed. your *IMPORTANTs on the submission form are quite funny to me btw very smile.

Developer(+1)

Yeah, we kinda ran out of time at the end, we both had other stuff to do mid jam (*cough* hw/"studying"). Maybe the too-relaxed feeling was because the pals and enemies use similar sounds, so the sounds just kind of blend together

feels like a lot of things you just didn't have the time for but nice work getting something that works and has art and progression and variety within your limitations!!

quite fun!, always nice to discover & try new monkey. the SFX could be more juiced up

Developer (1 edit)

Yeah, I agree the SFX do need some work

Very epic stuff honestly good job! I like the variety in the enemies and pals😃

I feel a brotato inspiration, I like the game is very lovely, the art is pretty cool and I like the monkeys following the player add a very original twist, the music was good too, good job!

Developer

Thank you!

Oh this one is really well made!

Had a lot of fun playing, I like the little team building mechanics, and this is a style of the game I would play quite often back when in the flash games era. Very cute art style too! Great submission

Developer

Thanks!

Lovely game mechanics! Lots of fun to have invulnerable buddies following you with their own level-up mechanics!

Gameplay got a bit monotonous after I discovered the strat of just "running around in circles and spamming bananas into the middle of the screen", but the addition of those red-orb-shooting guys quickly put an end to that strat lol

Overall very nice, could do with a little more sound effects though

Developer

Thanks for the feedback! Most pals use similar sound effects when they attack, which is probably a problem :/

Submitted(+1)

Needs a bit more audio visual feedback for hits. Otherwise pretty cool Prime ape survivor game!

Developer

Yeah... I ran out of time :(

Really cool take on a Brotato like game! Love the characters and kept me coming back trying to beat it.

Developer (1 edit)

Thanks! The game might be a bit unbalanced, I was only really able to test it a few times before submitting :/

Submitted

Reminds me a lot of Brotato, pretty good! Keeps the player engaged and scales really well!

Developer

Thanks! Brotato was a major inspiration :)

Submitted

Very fun! Love the paper cutout vibe! Good idea with the survivorlike using allies as weapons!I don't know if my build made things cluttered or if thats how it always ends up but things are very hard to read with both the fire monkey and iron mouse!
small note on bugs:

seems some enemies aren't marked with an x when spawning making things feel a bit unfair at times

Developer

yeah readability was definitely a issue, if I didn’t have school today I probably would have tried to fix some issues and bugs.

Developer

I think the X mark thing is a layering issue. I probably should have had the x appear above enemies.

Super fun game! After like 8 or so rounds the game just went straight to the menu so im not sure if i won or not? Pretty easy game i never really found it hard to survive but thats not necessarily a bad thing either. I had a good time!

Developer

Uhhh there was a slight bug the game is supposed to end at wave 15 :/

Submitted

ah well thats unfortunate, but i still enjoyed it!
