Cool game! I love the music and the visuals. The shader needs some polish as lighting is a bit inconsistent.

I found a few bugs, and kinda cheesed the game by upgrading speed first. A nice drawback mecanic would be nice! Like, maybe upgrading speed also makes enemies surround the player, or projectiles bigger and longer range!

Really enjoyable base game vibe though so I'm glad you shared this :)

I don't usually play shooting games, so I'm not that good at it. But I was able to get to Wave 8, so yay lol. The sound was pretty loud and every time I click to attack, my mouse would also appear and distract me or would hit the upgrade button. But overall, good game!!

Hey! You gave our game such a kind review on our game and suggested we play yours, and I genuinely would love to but unfortunately I am on mac and have not yet found visualization software that actually works with my computer.  Instead I had my friend play it while I watched so I'm going based off of that lol. I really loved the style and it was honestly a fun game to just sit and watch too. Only thing I really noticed was some of the UI bugs other people have been mentioning but overall a smooth and fun game!!

Pretty simple and fun c: skeleton go brrrrr XD I would have loved newer enemies and gun upgrades but I totally get there's only so much one can do in 5 days. Otherwise, I had a decent time just blastin XD Well done!

Pretty fun! Controls work well, though enemies are a bit bullet spongey, which makes sense considering there's upgrades though. Hopefully in the future with more enemy types this can be mitigated and the difficulty curve can get softened a little. Like others have said, could use some volume sliders. Would love to check it out again in the future!

Fun Game love the somewhat psx style dilled up to 11. I had a few problems where when I upgrade the character looks up and definitely the ui for wave starting needs to be shorter in my opinion. Overall great experience and loved the glock :]

Really fun haha, Amazing job!

Gotta say, we love wave-based games like this, it was super fun!

The simple but effective upgrade system and the pixelated visuals added a lot of charm as well!

We did run into a few issues though:

  • UI bugs: Some text would shrink, change size, or overlap. The upgrade shop’s button hitbox also felt a bit off, we did mange to find the right spot in the middle, but it was tricky. It’d also be great if the game paused during upgrades, since we kept accidentally shooting (which made later waves a bit chaotic, haha).

  • Visual bug: The red “damage” overlay sometimes stayed on screen long after being hit, even between waves.

Overall, this was a really solid and fun experience! With a bit more polish on the UI and some added enemy variety, this could become an awesome wave defense game. Amazing work!

Perspective from game-tester and user-experience designer.

I love score-chaser shooters like Writhe on the Nintendo Switch or Devil Daggers on Steam, so this was really fun to play. Nailed the speed and fluidity of motion, didn't seem necessary to keep upgrading my speed past a certain point though and I didn't see any benefit to upgrading my jump height at least in this current build of the game. However, I could've played this for a lot longer and still had a lot of fun. The Wave information appears over your upgrade menu and makes it hard to see what I'm clicking or what the effect is, and one time the red haze from being damaged persisted over my view for the rest of a run. Highest wave was Wave 6, and I only played for about 20-30 minutes tops, I don't know if new enemies would pop up later or if there was a win-state.. Aside from the skeletons being present, I don't know how this fit the theme "Death is an opportunity."

Thanks for popping into my stream on Tuesday, sorry we didn't play it while you were around. This was a lot of fun and I'd love to see a more fleshed out score-chaser from you in the future, if this is what you were able to do in a short time-span.

Same feedback as some folks. A music volume option would've been good, but other than that, not much negative. Sometimes the skeletons color blended in with the background making them harder to see, but it was a heck of a lot of fun!

Had a great time playing! I did enjoy the speed aspect just zooming around everywhere haha. A problem I came across was when you were low hp, the screen turned red even when you got back to full hp. I fixed the problem by getting hit again though!
In case you didn't make it to the stream here is my vod! https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2586763702?t=2h21m28s

Really fun, I got to a point where my speed was so fast I could just circle around the skeletons and kill them all really easily without taking damage

Gameplay is really addicting but it gets repetitive after a while

I think this is the most fun game I've played for this game jam yet. Well done!!

A good solid base! A couple of small bugs (though I must admit shooting at the same time as crouching actually made me laugh a little). Can see this being refined into a fun and stylish wave shooter! (I see in your comments that you only had like 12 hours for this, VERY well done for that time frame👏👌)

thank you so much and the crouching thing is a big lol but I’m glad you enjoyed it I might keep it now I really appreciate the feedback and I will be sure to check your game out once I’m home!

I really enjoyed this game, I would've loved if there was a pause menu (music was alittle loud), but yeah overall really good.

I’m sorry about the music I wish I could have added options lol but I’m glad you enjoyed it!

Love the visuals for the game great work! I would like it if there were maybe more weapons and upgrades though as well as maybe different enemy types.

also the red “damage” overlay sometimes stuck around long after being hit, even between waves.

Wave issue: On wave 6, it wouldn’t progress; not sure if that’s the end or a bug. The yellow text on the left was hard to read too.

Overall, this was a pretty solid and fun game! With some polish on the UI and maybe more enemy variety, this could be a really great wave defense experience. Nice work! <3

thank you for the feedback! I definitely want to fix the ui it was so thrown together I ended up having to make my whole game in like 12 hours I had 2 days lol there’s a whole lot more I wish I could’ve done!

This type of game needs a lot of variety, which is sorely lacking here. (more enemies + bosses, powerups, upgrades, weapons, etc) But for two days work I can understand why. Keep at it and you can turn this into something great!

Developer

I will be coming out with a full version hopefully!! Since people seem to like it and I had a lot of fun making it!
