Such a cool game! I found the mechanic really interesting — the idea is genuinely clever, and I loved how getting captured replaces the usual level restart. Congrats, that was a great touch!
If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun

hi, thank you for playing! glad you enjoyed it!
i believe someone from the team already played and rated your game :)

Pretty creative game with some nice mechanics in it. The ghost weapon feels smooth but also a bit frustrating sometimes with how slow it moves and lags behind.
The art is nice, as far as I can tell, but I'm sorry to say the lighting is not as good tbh. The scene looks too dark and you have to stumble your way through a lot. On top of the lack of tutorials, I was quite confused in the first few minutes of the game, not even sure where my character is or what they supposed to be even. The mace/spear weapon have a bit of a glow to it but the key was so small and dim that I totally miss it and stumbled around for quite a while. The decision to include a ghost form timer is also a bit peculiar to me, Especially considering the fact that this game requires the player to explore quite a bit, so having a hard reset timer on top of that, I feel like it's not very conducive to the gameplay.
I think there's some important sound effects I would have loved to see included, for example a form switching sounds, since it's the one core ability in the game.
Overall I would say not too bad of a concept, but would love to see a lot of improvements still :)
thank you for playing!
yeah sadly we ran out of time for making all those polish improvements that we wanted :)

Hi!!! It was so nice playing this game on stream while I got to speak with you :) I love the gameplay used to incorporate death as a means to escape ^^ As we discussed on stream, there could be some glow improvements as to indicate which door the key opens, when you can lift a lance, to demonstrate the player is in shackles in the beginning.
I hope to see if you continue to build more on this as this is a really neat concept! Well done all around <3
thank you so much for playing! :) it was great feedback. we already have a patch ready for after the jam to hopefully fix the common issues, we want to have more interesting and involved levels and make it better over all. <3

Very cool mechanic of dying/repossessing, and the spear was satisfying too! I enjoyed this one a lot!
Thanks for playing! Glad you enjoyed the goblin smacking.

This was a blast! Great concept and execution. Getting out of being caught on that last level is REALLY tricky in terms of timing to get the guards before they get you, but it is just barely possible.
thank you for playing! we are glad you had fun :) just played yours

A very interesting puzzle game. The spear impact is very juicy.
Thank you for the juice compliment, that was something we really wanted in. Just tried out your game too and left a comment giving my thoughts!

A really good jam game! Once the puzzle `clicks´ on how to advance to the next area, it feels super rewarding! Loved the SFX used, and everything felt really smooth. Good job!
thank you for giving us a try! i'll let our sound person know you liked the sound :)

This is absolutely addicting! I can see my self coming back and playing this again.

yes it was really good would you want to check my game ou?
Cool concept. And nice animations with the weapons. I couldn't get past the first door. I got the first guard, then grabbed the key to unlock the door. Also, tried unlocking myself. Good sound effects too. Great entry!
thank you for the feedback! were you trying to unlock yourself in spirit form?
and what would you say is causing the problem with clarity in the game? anything we can do to get better at this is welcome.
Yea, I was trying to unlock myself in spirit form. But also was in spirit form and I saw the door glow, so I was trying to use the key.
ooooh, we might have forgotten to turn that off in spirit form. thank you for letting us know!
-Lizabet
I was pleasantly surprised when I found I could drag the key towards me while in ephemeral form. It opened up a world of possibilities. I dragged the key back to where I was and right clicked furiously all around me trying to unlock myself but it just never worked. So I don't know what I was meant to figure out but couldn't get anywhere. Was a very interesting concept and did really want to see the rest of the game and how you did it.
thank you for the feedback! sorry about that, it was something that we thought would cause a problem for people. (for anyone else that runs into this) you can only fight in spirit form, but can only use the keys in living form. all items in their use form have to have a left click hold, then a right click to use. we will update the control description on the page. then in game after the jam.
thank you again for pointing this out
-Lizabet
Was super fun but couldn't get past the first door. Kept dragging the key to it, killed everything, right clicked on it with the eky but couldn't open it. Awesome game and insanely fun game mechanics!
Thank you for the feedback! We were rushing to get things in towards the end and didn't have time to put in tutorial prompts on how to use items in-game. Sorry for the lack of an in-game explanation, we had a feeling that'd happen to some players.

Right off the bat really liked the mechanics, really satisfying once you get the hang of it. I also liked that it's an instant reset if things go wrong so it keeps me engaged. Good job!
Loved this one! The idea of roaming around as your spirit manipulating objects and then reviving was really clever. Killing the goblins is SUPER satisfying. The levels were challenging but not too hard. Perfect length for a game jam game. Left me wanting more. Great work! 5 stars for sure!
thank you so much! i asked our coder to play your game too, hes playing your game right now :) he said he likes the art and the camera movement that you got in, he wanted to have that in ours too, he also said he really likes that the graves keep their state . he also says thank you for the goblin killing comment, he was insistent on having that in.
-Lizabet
Just finished it, great game fellas. Took me a sec to figure out the fail states. Onyx told me our games were similar but this one is way more ambitious, if we had taken the same path and that was on the table we wouldnt have finished in time. Well deserved 5 star score. I want more, the game lends itself to further content, so you know what to do.
thank you so much for that wonderful feedback!! yeah your game was really great too. we thought this concept that we both landed on would be the most common, turns out i've only found 2 others, yours and one i just rated. you got a lot of polish in your game too, i can see that as a full game in the future.
