really fun, challenging game. I don't see how it fits the theme though, especially when you cant save PT from when you die
every time you die, you get the opportunity to buy you a way to live and improve your chances of leaving!
Loved the music and sound, enjoyable gameplay loop, wish I could upgrade movement in the shop though, I'm too slow deciding my next move, so would love a way to counteract my skill issue ;-)
I like the art style and the lil dude's walk animation. The mechanics are clean and easy to grasp after you figure out you have to match the recipe. The UI looks good as well
Cute and fun little game — really charming! I liked the screen effect and the music. It gets a bit repetitive after a while, but still fun! The only thing I wasn’t a big fan of was having to restart the board every time haha, but still, great game — congrats!
If you have a moment, I’d love if you could check out mine too! Play it here: https://kaijota.itch.io/graverun
Watch the gameplay on YouTube:
thank you for playing! Definitely agree that it needs more board variety between retries, and probably a shorter oxygen timer.
this was really neat, I think I might have broken it though. I grabbed a few mushrooms and then everything turned green for a second and then it just sat on a black screen...
Trying again:
grabbed a couple gems, the screen scrolled upwards and disappeared, then sat on black screen again.
not sure if I'm doing it wrong or what.
however, the style is really clean, the art is cool, the game runs smoothly, I love the little animations on each move, this could turn into something really cool if I could get it to work!
GG
Do you mind telling me what you are playing on, and how old your device is? It might be that your device is older and does not support shaders well. The screen moving upwards is probably an artifact of the shaders not being able to work properly. Same for the green screen, as the shader alters the colors. It could be your graphics card as well.
It is a little odd as nobody else has mentionned any similar issue with the game.
im just playing the web version in firefox on my laptop, its a rogflow z13
Have you tried using chrome? Might be an issue with firefox?
I just tried on firefox and it works without any issue for me. I'm really not sure what the problem is beside maybe needing driver updates. Sorry!
yeah I dunno, I'm not counting it against you rating wise, just kind of bummed I can't see more of it. I'll play around with other browsers in a bit
I mostly hope this is not a recurring problem with other people as well!
Simple to learn, visually beautiful, well executed, fun to play. I liked it!
I love the visuals, the music, and the presentation! Everything works so well!
Very polished, great visuals, clear concept, clean gameplay, and very addicting, just amazing.
Nice concept. Pretty well made, I can definitely see this being easily scalable to new worlds with different resources to collect (and maybe more for higher difficulty). Music was a bit loud tho, it would've been cool to have some kind of volume slider. Well done!
Thank you for playing! You know how it is with jams, settings definitely last on the priority list!
really engaging and fun game
This is my favourite games I’ve I’ve played by far, I keep needing to remind myself to blink lol, the gameplay loops is so addictive and the art is adorable
Extremely polished game. Well done! Everything fits together nicely. Can't think of anything that doesn't work for me. Awesome work!
This game right here, felt like a well made meal, those meals that have you giggling and kicking your feet from enjoyment.
It's creative.
Super well made and polished.
And fun.
My compliments to the chefs.
My goodness, you are way too kind! Thank you for the kind word and its a pleasure to have given you a good time 🙏
It took me a second to realize how to gain points but once I did it was pretty fun!! I loved the art style and the cute little astronaut! I also didn't realize that I only had five tanks, unless that was what the purchase in shop was for! Fun game though!!
you have infinite tanks, you just gotta buy them with the points you earn! You can also improve how much points you get by completing recipes and how big the recipes you begin with are! Be careful though, your points disappear between each round
Super fun! Induces a wee bit of anxiety with the music, but that's not a bad thing. Love the simplicity of the mechanics and the old school art style. Great job!
Really dug this game and the mechanics! It got super addicting for me to keep going! Great game :)
super solid graphical style for something that was built in 5 days. the music creates a really nice vibe and the gameplay is really smooth, i can imagine playing this on an arcade cabinet at some random diner 20 years ago lol. keep it up!
Lovely little game. Great take on the theme, and very polished. It wasn't immediately clear that I need to follow the recipe on the left, but once I picked that up it was all smooth sailing. Very nice touch on music ramping up, so I knew I was about to die without even looking at the clock :)
That was cool! At first I couldn't understand the whole premiss of the game but once I wrapped my head around it I enjoyed it! I only collected 35k in total and used 4 tanks but it was something different, Well done!
Absolutely loved this. Polish is phenomenal and the gameplay loop is extremely addictive. I played for longer than I expected I would lol!
Only issue was recipes that were impossible to complete (as in, no item matched). I didn't mind paths blocking my way as it encouraged strategy, but I felt that having no way to complete it regardless of good strategy was unfair.
Congrats!
You can switch the items on the board by pressing space and paying 1000 PT in a run !
Ah awesome! Must've missed that. Although losing a recipe was cheaper than 1000PT, right?
early recipes yes, and depends where you are in your recipe. A large recipe can give you 3000+ PT, so if you have almost completed it, the 1000 can be worth it. Plus maybe your next recipe will require the same thing. Its a decision between time saved, PT, and thinking about what the next recipes could be
