I really like boomer shooters and this one is a nice one! Good job! Kinda wished there was a bit more to do in the game and a more use of theme!
I’m glad you liked it and I also wished I made something that followed the theme more but thank you!
Great game! I really enjoyed it but couldn't see the theme sadly but it was an extremely enjoyable experience!!!!
This was really fun, a nice simple idea done well! I think I managed to break it though somehow though, I got to wave 11 and then the skeleboys just stopped spawning. I'm happy with my final score though

I feel like it definitely could have done with some more variety to enemies and maybe some bonus or weapon pickups but this is definitely something I'll keep an eye on if you're planning on working on it after the jam?
Absolutely loved the music!
not bad for the time we had, this kind of game can turn into something amazing
keep at it!
GG
I thought the visuals were very cool
Fun game. Some more time giving it a little more depth and polish and it could really be awesome. Great job!
Decent little shoot em up game. Could use more variety in weapons and enemies.
The game was enjoyable, but the implementation of the theme either went over my head, or was pretty simple (the only connection with "Death is an opportunity" I can see is that you fight skeletons (aka. dead people walkin'). Jack did say that you can take the theme as you want, so even if my interpretation is correct, that should not be a big fault. The visuals were pretty nice, although the menues would overlay with the HUD and some of the images didn't match the PSX (pixelated) style of the game, which I actually overall really liked! Like the "Press U for upgrades image" I think could be something with less resolution, to match the aesthetic of the game. The shooting was fun, the gun also has really nice muzzle flash animations and recoil. The upgrades were sometimes too much, I went to upgrade speed a bunch of times and I suddently could barely move where I wanted to move to. Maybe have a limit to how much one can upgrade. Also, if you will continue, the upgrades are pretty nice, but I think you could add more, like damage, reload speed, ammo capacity, etc. Or maybe even add more guns! I think this has potential and is on a good path! I really think that if you give this more time, it can become a pretty solid wave FPS experience! Good job!
Very fun! I liked running very fast everywhere! I would've liked if there was an option to increase the amount of bullets or damage, and I found that after a certain point the extra speed is a bit burdensome, but overall I liked the graphics and shooting skeletons, very cool.
I enjoyed for what it had to offer, I died within a few seconds of starting out but I managed to get the hang of the game. Visually, I like the aesthetic for what it's going for! it feels like I'm playing an old dungeon PC game in the 90s.
couple things that could improve on is the lack of a settings menu. I tried to see if I can adjust the FOV of the game but there isn't one. Another thing is the fact that the enemies are pretty much easy to avoid, if you managed to upgrade your speed a bit and just stay really far away from them, then they won't attack because they're not within proximity, it's essentially a free kill. I also do wish that there are more upgrades and enemy variety. There was also a bug where enemies don't exactly spawn in the room with you and you're just left soft-locked due to being required to kill all enemies.
But overall, I enjoyed for what it had to offer, the movement feels nice, and the graphics fit the vibe. if more work was put into this, I could see this being a genuinely cool game.
My highest wave is 6 and total kills is 45 (I would've gotten higher but I got soft-locked in this wave)
I do like this game; I feel it has potential to be super cool. The speed upgrades ramped up quickly making it hard to shoot and move. Would love to see more updates!
Really like the gameplay feel of this game, the speed upgrade made me feel like it transitioned from Doom into ULTRAKILL with all the speeding around and darting past enemies! The visuals in game are very nice though just bear in mind to make the colours of objects pop out a little more since it did look muddled at some points!
This would definitely be a fun little game to take forward and develop further in the future if you wish to!
very cool, I love the pixelated retro look!
I feel like the bones are there but it could really needs a few quality of life additions that probably aren't too hard to add like mouse sensitivity option, a way to actually minimize or leave fullscreen (This one I know is very easy, I had to look up and add it to my game) and all that good stuff.
Regardless, very fun little game and I would love playing it again in the future with a few more enemies and upgrades :)
This was super fun! If there was a full version with more guns and abilities I'd definitely play it. Increase the enemy variety and add levels with some sort of story to it and you're golden! I also enjoyed the pixelated style you were going with. This has lots of potential and in such a short amount of time, the game presented here is very impressive.
Suuuper cute retro vibe! Graphic are a lil hard to make out and I would love the option to adjust mouse sensitivity (unless i missed it) but overall very cute!
thank you! And didn’t have time to add options unfortunately but I’m glad you liked it!
thats okay XD i am just a lil zippier in first person shooters but looooove the vibes
Enjoyed this quite a bit, had to pull myself away from going any further!
Did get a bit repetitive, but as others have said more guns, more abilities, more time to develop, would help that!
One critique I have is that the next wave starts and they begin attacking you while the round popup is still blocking your view/reticle. You could address this by having the round start UI be at the top or top-middle instead of the middle. That way, even if the timing overlaps when combat begins, it doesn't block the player from fighting back! Though this wasn't a huge issue.
I really liked how accurate the hit scan is and how the graphics/pixelation are the distance/accuracy limiter instead of the gun's range! Very neat touch!
I appreciate the constructive feedback, the Ui was something that bothered me but I didn’t have time lol, I had to throw something together in 2 days due to work but i definitely want to add more I’m glad you enjoyed it so much!
I totally get that. We were lucky to have a team member who was a UI person. If you saw the UIs I make... I promise you you'd be more proud of yours! LOL Even if they also only had about 2 days it saved everyone from my UIs, so I get it! In a jam having something playable is more important, and yours was definitely playable!
Also random aside, I upgraded my speed way too much and it became detrimental which was hilarious!
Great job! This game reminded me of Doom
that was the goal lol!
Really fun fps, immediately went for speed and was rewarded for that choice. I got through to the end of wave 3 but the last enemy wasn't anywhere to be found to keep progressing. I'll have to boot it up again later, but great job!
that seems to be a common issue I wish I could fix it but I’m glad you enjoyed!
AWESOME
thanks!
