Good game, I was thinking "Ah Chess but fun!" while playing lol. Is something worth expanding upon.

This was really fun! I liked figuring out what to do for each new monster, and also the paper cut-out style of them was cute. Killed the mummies a few times before realizing I had to get the necromancer first, but I think that's what makes it a cool feature. I'd love to see more of this!
imma be so honest only a few rounds in i forgot i didnt just pick this up for fun & that i was actually supposed to rate it sshdhdjdj. this is EXACTLY my style of game, im in loveee!
im seeing some feedback in the comments abt a tutorial but imo its the perfect amount of 'figure it out yourself' & super easy intro levels that it doesnt really need it!! at most for some types of players i could see a units info screen being helpful & maybe an initial 'kill this guy to win but keep an eye on your energy' popup, but beyond that its SUPER intuitive!!
had so much fun with this, great work!
edit: the music choice is also phenomenal. it fits so perfectlyyy
Cool to see a strategy game! The art is fantastic, I like the skeleton especially.
It took me a second to get how it works but it all made sense in the end.
This is deep and really well made! I love how you interpreted the theme and some units can come back as, like, double-undead. The music is excellent, the art is wonderful, and the gameplay is fun. Lots of room for expansion if you wanted to take it further, but I can recommend it even as it is. Great all around!
Thank you for playing & your kind words! I think we'll definitely be continuing the project post-jam (I've got a whole list going at this point of updates, including a full story & potentially multiplayer as well). Hopefully you continue yours too, it was fun (and I'm still thinking about the page you made for it, haha)!
Its chess but with death and shit.
The skeletons are wayy too overpowered however for a starting tower and something the zombies devolve into.
And i beat the final level with a single blue ghost lady.
Besides the balancing being a bit wack i have no other complaints as this is a pretty fun game.
Enjoyed playing your game!!!
left you some feedback on your comment on our post:

If you want to also check out our game, feel free to do so...
LOVE the art and aesthetic of the game. I love when games blend 2D with 3D, and the amount of levels you managed to make and pull off during the course of the jam is really impressive. Well done on this one!
I Like the Gameplay where the zombies die and come back as a skeleton, cool artsyle and music and fits the theme well.
i really like the game play, also the visuals are so cute, and i enjoyed the music. my only comment is to give the wizard more spells to try out :D
Loved this game, the only complaint I have is that there isn't more for me to play.
Very fun turn based game, nice visuals! I must also admit that I shot myself three times at first, of no fault of yours, all mine, overall fun game!
Fun game with fun mechanics! Impressed you were able to make this many levels
Saw the SRPG grid and I had to give it a shot :) There's some really cool mechanics here with the ability to target your own units and the different effects that could give. It was really fun figuring out different tactics with the tools you're given each level! The visuals are really good too, eyes were super creepy and details like vampires' movement animation are super cool. Great job!!
Okay okay!
- The vibes were SO consistent from the moment you open the game. The eyes that follow around your cursor in the corners?? Such a nice little touch
- I love the music and the sound effects! The round complete horn was a shocker
- I kept accidentally` attacking my own guys which I found really funny.. and I got stuck on the corrupted séance but I don't play these kinda games n Im not the brightest at em :D I had a lotta fun!
Thanks for playing even if it is not your preferred genre!
The horn is compliments of our Tester who became our audio person for this as well, haha!
We're considering continuing it, maybe a slight delay before you can attack would help with accidental self-attacking. I'll add it to my list, and I appreciate the feedback!
Fun game! Gave me vibes of plants vs zombies mixed with chess, which is a pretty neat combo😁 From reading other comments it sounds like you already have some good ideas for further development, so well done with the jam build and good luck on your future work!
The game starts off great with the subtle tutorial on what you have to do. But I felt a little cheated when I tried to sacrifice the blue gals, expecting it to kill like the vampire, and instead it did something else.
The game's good! If the game were a little faster and the camera didn't zoom in after selecting someone, especially on bigger maps, it'd be even better! Good job!
Props for making your game more accessible by having both Linux and Windows.
I had a lot of fun with your game! The art is cool, I enjoyed figuring out what everything could do, trying different strategies and I like the level progression.
Simple but effective! Great job ^-^
Really fun game! I love the silly art style, and the variety of enemy types you can play around with is great!
Only a few small things I noticed:

The UI feels a bit too far out at times, like here, the gravestone’s way off in the distance

Sometimes my characters wouldn’t die properly; then when I tried to select them again, they’d die, but pressing any buttons afterward would freeze or crash the game. It wouldn’t let me continue or end the turn
Still, aside from those few bugs, this was a blast to play! Awesome work!!
