This game has some of the best art design I’ve seen so far! The gameplay mechanics were really creative , especially the enemies that move when you’re not looking and the use of mirror. Everything felt so well made, and I didn’t encounter any bugs at all. The music was great, and even the menu looked beautiful. Fantastic work , seriously impressive job!
Shit, me and my tired-as-fuck-eyes are not surviving any of this.
Like many others, I will give high praise for the presentation here, fully committing to aesthetic is always lovely to see, but that aesthetic also being interesting and fun is whole another. Loving it. If this had been just another weeping-angels-monster game I'd probably not retried it out as much as I did, but you guys adding the upgrades and items were really a good addition to the gameplay loop. I think the only real "problem" I had was that sometimes it felt that even if I were looking at the enemies they moved, so the field-of-view trigger/whatnot felt too small. But I could have just been doing something wrong too, very likely, I took my sweet time to figure out you can use the bottles (Thank you tip, very cool info) lol. But many creeps through my spine were had hearing those sloppy af footstep speed towards my poor ass trying to pick a toothpick. Great work on this!
Artistically excellent, I also love the party members… their look and their strange idle animation, brrr! Having to keep my eyes open and having to do it with chopsticks made me laugh a lot!
I was running around so much that I couldn’t tell if the mirror was actually working or not, I didn’t manage to see a monster in it, but I understood and loved the idea immediately.
Well done!
The art style is great!
It’s polished, and the color palette looks wonderful — it really gives off that perfect Halloween party vibe!
It was such a lovely game
The AI of jester doesn't know to go through something that block his way and also there is a bug if exit to main menu after gameplay the menu doesn't work
Aside with those things the game is great
The art style is incredible and environment is amazing
Superb job Ollie and Qwerkke
I think this is easily one of my favorite games from the jam! The semi-psychedelic aesthetic and the mechanic of keeping your eyes closed while keeping an eye on the monsters is really cool! Congrats on the game and the music; the music is genuinely great!
Oh, and I have a real fear of clowns, so that triggered my phobia a bit, haha!
The game is good, it has nice visuals, interesting gameplay, everything worked well for me, without any bugs. At first, it was a bit difficult for me, but when i understood the tactics of how to play, i beat it in a couple of minutes. Good entry.
I must say that the visual style and mechanics are well done, creating an interesting challenge.
The basic idea of stopping opponents by looking at them isn't new, but I've never seen it done like this before. I also found the art style really interesting. What I found a bit strange was the timer at the end. I like the idea of having to wait for the police, but then it shouldn't be an option to just spend the time waiting. Definitely one of the best games in this game jam.
The game's really polished! You guys got a lot done within the 7 days time period. Gorgeous art, great music and sound design, and with lots of enemies and items, it's just incredible!
Please make a WebGL version of this, i really want to play this but can’t cuz i’m on a Mac here.
Really well polished game that oozes style, awesome concept thats been developed really well! I love how wet their feet sound slapping on the floor as they get closer and closer - truly horrifying!
This is a fun and really clear and clever execution of the idea! Love the details put in this and the overall vibe of the game!
Oh that was GOOD!
Huge fan of the aesthetic, it feels like a Courage the Cowardly dog episode you would have dreamt off while running a fever, the nostalgic creepiness of it all.
The sound design was incredibly well done, the crackling noises while the enemies are coming at you are truly unsettling. And the call to the police got me cackling!
Also the mechanic of the toothpick was really clear, as in I could easily tell when they were about to break either visually or thanks to the noise, and was usually able to "refill" before it was too late. Good design!
It feels like the kind of game that would be super fun to play with friends, taking turns to see who can finish it.
Couple of bugs, like the enemies clipping through me and not attacking, the menu not working if you go back etc... But like. In a week??? That's really barely anything.
Maybe adding a menu with the controls would be helpful, I couldn't remember how to pick up things at first so I had to switch screens for a bit. But that's not really a priority.
Really good job.
The gameplay was a bit hard , even for me, but I loved the visuals, sound design , and the overall game. i loved everthing about it! I'm not really good with words, but I truly liked it.
this very good I liked the mechanics and the drops were forgiving gameplay was fun and engaging the sounds fit it well.
some bugs that I had were
1. enemies getting close sometimes don't register as seen they should either just kill the player or stop moving
2. when I went back to the main menu the menu did not work.
of course these are to be expected it is a game jam.
took me a few tries to beat the game but I did it I also loved the menus sound effect as well as the crazy laughs and weird footsteps when you looked away it gave the feeling that I am gonna die lol very enjoyable good job
Great art style! The "don't look away" mechanic sure is creepy, especially the sound effects of the footsteps quickly getting closer to you haha. The gameplay is a bit hard and requires many tries but it's a solid jam entry!
omgggg I loved your game so much! *breathes* Sportaldislexicartaphobia! thank you for checking ours out :) I am flattered you enjoyed it :) and dw its hard for me too
Simple but fun game mechanics! The game felt really difficult at first, but thanks to an in-game hint I discovered the power of the champagne bottles 😂 All items are fun and useful (love the mirror). Of course, the overall burlesque (?) aesthetic also deserves mention. Great character animations. Overall very impressive!
Holy creeptastic masquerade, batman! This is AMAZING! I love everything about this. The concept is so cool, the design/art style is so colourful and bombastic. The enemies are so creepy and the game mechanics are so cool!
I have nothing but praise here. Fantastically unique and has a lot of replay value. I tried speedrunning this game but the damn blue bottomed princess lady would pop up and ruin my run haha. Gave me a start when she assassinated me from the back! One of the best entries in this jam, without a doubt! ^^
Thank you so so much!!!
Thank you so much for playing our jam, means a lot! I am so glad you liked it - the dressy ones always get me I am sure the same exact one xD I was worried I wouldn't be able to pull off the masquerade aesthetic (the masks were supposed to be more varied) but I am glad you still felt it. My teammate created the concept and I tried hard to match it with such a short time frame. 🫡
Great game! Don't know if there are some baddies that can chase you no matter what but I had some run at me even with my eyes open. Fun game and good idea. Great submission over all! Very unique
