The game was cute and fun. But the puzzles were more annoying to me then cozy. The dialogue was beautiful and painted a lovely picture, but at times it seemed to drag on. Still a fun game!
Thanks for the feedback!
Yeah, the puzzles had a lot of problems, I totally agree. And I also agree about the dialog, especially in the beginning of the game, it's a bit much at once.
Very nicely done. The movement of the items was a little tricky at first but in the end these room by room puzzles were a great joy to attempt to solve. Cozy vibes and full story meets the theme well. I am still planning on creating my own version of an escape room game, and this type of puzzler, look and feel would be something to be proud of. Subtle, adequately easy/difficult, fits the theme and nice game look and feel.
Thanks for the kind words!
And yeah you're right, it could be considered a cozy escape room :D
I can see that you put in a lot of work for the art & writing, but I sadly couldn't get into it. Keep in mind that most of this feedback reflects more my tastes, and not the quality of your submission.
I felt like there was a bit too much writing before the actual gameplay starts, so I skipped most of the initial texts & as a result, I didn't understand what to do next. After clicking on everything in the room, I managed to trigger the armchair section. In there, the controls were a bit unclear. I spent about 5m trying to make the armchair comfortable & I gave up after I succeeded, since it wasn't particularly enjoyable to play.
On the other hand, the game really nails the cozy vibes, and again: the art is very beautiful. So good work on that, and congratulations on your submission!
Thanks for the feedback! :)
I think we definitely didn't do a good job at communicating to the player what it is they have to do and how to do it exactly. It is a valuable lesson on truly assuming the players perspective and not taking for granted what you already know about the game as the designer.
Nice and cozy puzzle game, even though the controls were not easy to understand and the radio level is a little too hard due to the duration the antenna stays up.
Good job overall โจ
Thanks for the input! :)
I agree with everything you said. For the antenna we should have made a better way to show the path, maybe a faint line or something. In general this jam was a great learning experience on the need to design puzzles to be more intuitive and give the player the quality of life features that make it feel more fair.
I totally agree with you about how much this kind of jam is a great way to improve skills.
Was it your first game jam ever as a team ?
It was actually! The artist and writer had their first experience with game development in general :)
Nice!
Well done to you all โจ
This game really nailed the cozy vibe, I really enjoyed the hand drawn art style and the sounds! The puzzles were a bit harder than I expected they would be for a cozy game. I think adding a few extra spaces in the radio puzzle and the milk jigsaw would feel more chill. Overall great work, solid game!!
Thank you! ^^
The puzzle difficulty was probably to high, that's true. We kind of lost sight of how difficult the puzzles actually were after staring at them for hours :,)
I had so much fun with the sound the dinosaur in the first puzzle makes. Took me some times to figure out how controls work because I first thought the objects were moving in random directions. Maybe some arrow overlays would have been nice but that way I could listen to that little guy even more. Great game!
Thanks for playing! And yeah, we love the little guy too xd
The arrows would have been a great idea. Either that or making the controls drag and drop.
Cozy and cool Puzzle game ! The puzzles are good, not too hard, not too simple. The command are a little bit harsh but really good job at all the team !
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it! ^^
And yeah, the input system was definitely not optimal, which is a good lesson for the next time.
Itโs a really nice puzzle game with very cozy ambience. The context and mood is set up really well. I like the tiny nice details like the broccoli friends and the dinosaur plushie, and the sounds they make. I absolutely adore the art, it is very 90s educational games/adventure games aesthetics, and I would love to see more games done by this team exploring this.
I think the puzzles were too difficult for me, and I had a lot of trouble, though it was satisfying to finish them (the first time Iโve ever solved one of these types of puzzles). But this is really well done and accomplished, congratulations!
Thanks again for playing it on stream and giving us your feedback :)
(our artist almost had a heart attack since he can't deal with receiving compliments xd)
I spent quite a bit of time playing this game, but I'm sorry to say it felt a bit more frustrating than it is relaxing ๐
The puzzle being a bit difficult is one thing, but I think the most frustrating parts were the weird controls, lack of feedback (or "juice", as they call it in game dev), and some general quality of life features you found in puzzle games like the game having some indications of whether or not you're doing things correctly. I just realized that you posted the solution to the puzzles as the game screenshots, but imo the best thing would have been that the game could have been designed better so that players can solve them naturally.
The design choices to omit all music and sound effects at the start were also strange, because it made me wonder whether or not the game actually have sounds. When I actually got some sounds they were also very quiet. You also lack a lot of UI sounds for interacting with the game etc.
I did enjoy the artwork however. I also like the itch page a lot.
I hope to not have sounded too harsh, but I hope my feedback that can help you as fellow game devs ๐
Hey Lestavol! Thank you for your extensive feedback! :D
First of all I'm glad to hear that you liked the art in the game and our itch page! It was our artist's first game dev project ever and I think he did an amazing job.
To address the points you made:
Once again, thank you for your feedback and good luck to you! :)
I hope my feedback can help you further develop this game or make better ones in the future! And yeah, I totally get the time pressure part. I fumbled my way through in my first few jams as well, but the more I do the better I have gotten at prioritizing (hopefully, and I still stumble too haha).
And I have learned something new today with the German language, haha. I love how they have words for very specific things ๐
Interesting ! Great work !
Thanks for playing! ^^
What a nice experience. I felt very seen :D It would have wished for a little bit more explanation, what it is that I'm supposed to do. The soundeffects are nice and the whole atmosphere very cozy.
Thanks for the feedback! The point about the missing explanation is fair. We intentionally tried to make it as easy as possible for the player to understand what it is they have to do since we didn't want to have any sort of tutorial. But in the end product we maybe didn't make it clear enough with the narration. I'm glad you still liked it though! :)
Yeah, I liked the Friday-Evening Theme and the narration was very nice :) The armchair puzzle I got through the shadows, that was good :) But I couldn't understand the music-section. I think too easy is here better than too hard, because of the relaxed theme (me on friday nights can't understand annnything :D)
