Very cute idea and graphics! It would be great to see a score and have some sense of accomplishment or reward for surviving longer!
Overall a cute jam entry :)

Cute little game. I enjoyed the artwork. The auto aiming is nice and adds to the cozy vibes. I would've liked a counter that displays how many enemies I have defeated. Good job!
Great artwork on this one and I think the auto aim was intended and adds to the cozy vibe. I played for a while but didn't win the game - I like the idea of this candy launching weapon :) Perhaps some more enemy and arcade action would be cool but then it would also take away from the cozy vibe perhaps.... soo.. good job! :)
Good job. Feels nice to play, although the single direction wand weapon makes it feel a bit more restrictive like some other commenters have said.
Would have loved to see upgrades. At first I thought the mushrooms were meant to be experience point pickups haha.
I kinda like how you put the tutorial of the game controls as your itch banner. That was creative and fun to see π
Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. I've received comments like that about the mushrooms from a few friends as well, so I definitely have to make them either do something or blend in with the scenery better, as I was hoping to add actual pickups at some point.
And yeah, thanks! I like using my banner for information I don't want missed, or if I have any warnings like bugs or anything (my previous game was very loud and the music never works right, so I warned about it there lol).
I loved this game! Even though I spent more time on it then I would like to admit, I would like to point out that it didn't feel incredibly responsive because you auto aimed and shot. All I could do was move around, and it ended when I chose to quit the game after 15 minutes. I would suggest letting the player have more control over the character and perhaps adding and end state, or more enemies. But for a game jam it was incredibly polished!
Loved the witch and her animations! I have yet to see a survivor-like that is cozy, but that's great for your second game. Keep it up!
So cute! I love the witch and even the enemy jack-oβ-lantern! I really respect that you made almost everything yourself. The controls feel smooth. When I was about to die, my witch turned invisible. Iβm not sure if that was a special effect or a bug, but it was actually pretty fun! If this were my own game demo, Iβd probably add more levels and different maps in the future to make it a complete game. Very great job!
Aw, the tiny witch is really cute. It's good to understand and the navigation works perfectly. Nice :)
Very cool game, polished and bug-free, with beautiful sprites. I like how you also thought & handled corner cases, such as when pumpkins surround you, but you can still push them around to escape. There are some things I think would make it better:
- an end state (except when losing)
- some more texture on the ground; since you're using Godot, check out TileMapLayer. I used it in my game for drawing the ground, and also for spawning piles of leaves randomly on predefined areas; it's a very powerful node!
- pixelated assets for the smoke cloud & health bar (to match the other assets)
Overall, great first jam effort & congratulations!
That's so kind of you to say. I love your suggestions as well.
I had wanted to have an end and make the smoke clouds pixelated as an update. I didn't think about the health bar, thank you. I'll for sure try to add that.
I'm new at Godot, so your recommendation of something specific I can look into using on it is so valueble. You even did the leaf piles using that? It sounds like the TileMapLayer's going to be a game changer for me! (It's my second Jam, but my first with Godot. I used Game Maker the first time, haha.)
Thanks for the comments and feedback.
Nice little Vampire Survivors inspired game ! β¨
And good job on your first Godot game π
You nailed the cute fall theme with your visuals <3 I would have loved to have control over aim and casting but having this automatic makes it more cozy i think. Great game!
Hee-Ho. Cool game, very cute art and good music. I want this candy gun in real life. Where can I buy it?
Cute sprite art and an awesome first godot game! You got the theme spot keeping halloween cozy with the smiley pumpkins. Could be interesting to add an aiming mechanic
A good start for a person alone ! Vampire survivor are fun and character design is pretty cute
