Nice work, what a cool take on clickers! I liked the “you’ve done well enough” note and nods to the GWJ team. I hit comic, but helpful, bug where my energy fell below zero and kept going down but all my skills worked infinitely, which I take mean I discovered cold fusion. I wonder if putting the tunable by their respective areas could have condensed the clicker list to one screen. Regardless, I had a lot of fun!

Developer

Thanks for reporting the bug! I pushed an update today to fix it and updated the UI.

I really enjoyed your voice acting!  It's not often that a game jam game includes something like that!

It would be nice to not need to scroll through the controls, but there is a lot of menu to show, and the way that you organized it did make it easier for me to understand how the game works.

The music and the post processing effect(?) helped set a nice mood that felt very fitting for a game about scientific discovery.

Nice job on this unique idea!

This game is actually insane, Dr. Physicist! I secretly love quantum physics and it gave me a bit of experience being one! ... Well, being an assistant to one, anyway.

It takes a bit of learning to play it comfortably but it didn't feel dull to me. Great use of UI elements, too. So cool!

This is a really immersive environment you created here, along with the unique take on the theme. The voice acting and ambient music really set the initial mood well. Lots of tutorials to help with the mechanics, and you could really spend a lot of time trying to master the physics behind all this.

Overall, it's a really polished and nice entry to play around and experiment with

Fascinating interpretation of the theme! There's a bit of a learning curve, but I really enjoyed tinkering and figuring things out.

Love the nod to Breaking Bad in the logo! The whole game made me feel like I was doing science, but in a chaotic and kinda crazy way.

The voice acting and humor were great touches too. It actually reminded me a bit of the mission control voice in Deep Rock Galactic, with a mix of corporate, deadpan humor, and a slightly bored / indifferent tone thown in.

My only nitpick is the UI. I wish I could see everything at once instead of scrolling. I felt a bit lost while trying to manage everything. I wonder if maybe having everything onscreen all at once might make the game play flow feel a bit better?

Overall, really cool game and love how it relates to the theme!

I admire how much effort you put into the game!

Congratulations on your submission!

Wow, super fascinating and original take on the theme. I had considered particle half life but never to the depth that your game has taken it! I did find the UI a little challenging to navigate but after I sat with it for a bit, I was able to figure it out. Super cool! Congrats on making such a unique game :) Thanks for making and sharing it!

wow, that's a complete full game you got over there mate!

at first I was like "how the f**k did this guy do all this in one week?" but then I just checked your itch page and it all made sense, you are close to run that sustainable business I think! :)

I cannot say anything that isn't said already, so I will just send kudos to you! I think it's a fantastic entry and will be top tier in this jam!

(btw that fluid shader simulation you have is stunning, I'll be keeping an eye on your stuff)

i spent like an hour playing this ajksdfhj

it was very confusing at first and it took me a while to figure it out. but honestly? i was compelled to keep playing regardless. and the tutorials were luckily in-depth enough (which i can't say about every game here) that i was eventually able to figure everything out by the end. it felt really rewarding! despite how tough the learning curve is, i was having so much fun that when i was given the option to stop, twice, i decided to keep playing anyways. i was so elated when i eventually managed to fuse and create godium, only to realize i needed *stable* godium... then i kept playing until i managed to stabilize it and man that felt good!! what a great game you've created man i loved it a lot :)

Woah, took a while to understand. Got to Dayzium, felt elated, and decided I should move on to another game. Crazy work, glad to have played it!

This was really fun. I felt like I was tinkering with something and it felt really satisfying when I unlocked a new atom. The whole experience felt immersive and cohesive! My only note is probably the UI felt less intuitive, but also there is so much going on. Just a thought (and maybe a bad one) but have you seen the games that have an immersive console with dials and things to click on? It may be cool if the UI was reconfigured so you were looking through a microscope or something, and all the different parts of the UI were on the table around you.

interesting take on the theme. I was a bit unlocky atoms blocking my gun from top and bottom, so it took a while until i finally made some new atoms. luckely reaching Xandrium was easy enough and even got to Gabrium. Then my patience left me.

I think the visuals and audio work very well together. Also cool VA, I guess you recorded yourself there?

Good job to another interesting gwj entry and looking forward for the next ones. :)

Developer

Yeah, I managed to record that in the last hour before submission :-P

Thanks for giving it a try!

There's something very, very brilliant about this. The crude dots, the beeps and hums of the machine - it all adds up to a very engrossing, very immersive feeling, as though I really am using this clunky, unwieldy machine to play with the very fabric of nature. Really, really good stuff. (And thank you very much for the reference.)

To be honest I'm too silly to play game's like this :(.   But from the childness I really like something like this. I like to imagine that I'm kinda mad scientist... El. Psy. Congroo. So I spen some time to understand for a little bit, it's feel statisfying to do things... that kinda gonna kill me, like boss said))
Great and extremely complex game!

I found this to be extremely compelling, the process of learning how and why to use each tool was really enjoyable. I somehow missed the instructions when I started playing, and I think I might have enjoyed it more because of it. Puzzling out and experimenting with how things worked was really interesting, and felt like I was a scientist. Highest praise I can give is that I spent like an hour playing this and was genuinely excited when I finally made stable Godium. Really cool project, I think this will end up being my favorite.

Developer

It is a very niche type of game, so I'm delighted to hear that people who can enjoy it are finding and connecting with it. I really didn't expect anyone to go through to the very end (I only just beat it yesterday), but I'm glad neither of the two earlier goal posts were enough to dissuade you from achieving maximum science! Well done!

It did feel like I was doing something very dangerous playing this game. It felt almost too realistic :) I really liked the visual style!

Really clever interpretation of the theme! Although, I agree with your comment below that the UI is pretty dense. I think it'd be easier to parse if each control could be vertically aligned with their respective component at the top or bottom.

Developer(+1)

I agree. If I continue working on it, redoing the UI to fit the controls along the top and bottom is at the top of my list.

Thanks for giving it a try!

The physics theme is great and well made into gameplay. The music is awesome and really puts you in the mood of the game. The gameplay and ui was initially a bit confusing, but not a big deal.

Submitted(+1)

Wow… I’ve never had so much fun with physics =D
